STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

Correct. He doesn't kill Leia. For one, because he's dead roughly 10 mins. after he learns of her existence. And two because she shows almost no Force potential at that time.

Correct. Luke isn't killed. But when it comes down to it, Luke's just Luke, an individual strong in the Force, but hardly a true Jedi.

I'm proposing the prophesy describes destruction of the institutions of the Jedi and Sith, not every Force-user. I feel my ramblings are still valid. :)

Luke's just Luke, an individual strong in the Force, but hardly a true Jedi.

He's a Jedi in every way that I can think of. Plus he goes on to become the single most powerful force user in the history of the universe.

I'm proposing the prophesy describes destruction of the institutions of the Jedi and Sith, not every Force-user.

But it doesn't because the Jedi come back, so do the Sith. The Jedi Order may be down to 1 person for a time, and there are no more sith. But the institutions survive by the very fact that they never really went away.

Of course all that is subject to change based on the new movie.

That's the problem, we have absolutely no idea what the prophecy meant by "balance". It could mean balance between the light and dark sides, between the Jedi and the sith, balance within anakin himself, it could refer to palpatine and plaugeis (sp?) trying to create life themselves in defiance of the natural order. It could refer to almost anything.

Hmmm.

Well, a nine-hundred year old Jedi Master seems to take issue with you:

Yoda : No more training, do you require. Already know you that which you need.

Luke : Then I am a Jedi.

Yoda : Not yet. One thing remains: Vader. You must...confront...Vader. Then, only then, a Jedi, will you be. And confront him, you will.

Yoda : Luke...when gone am I, the last of the Jedi, will you be.

And since Luke DOES confront Vader, he's a Jedi .

And he CALLS him the last of the Jedi.

I'm not saying he should have killed Leia or Luke, I'm just saying that with the two of them still crawling around the galaxy, there is no balance. Anyone ever check the "midichlorian" count? The Force does run strong in their family.

LIES, WE ALL KNOW IKRIT IS STILL AROUND!!! :D :D to be honest though, over a hundred Jedi survived the purge, but considering that there were 10s of thousands of jedi before that, and all the survivors are in hiding, it's safe to say he's the last active one.

If the Ep. VII spoilers and rumours can be trusted, 30 years after Endor both the Jedi Order and Sith are still very much shattered and scattered. The institutions cease to be. And they're that way because of Anakin's doings.

A handful of Jedi aren't a Jedi Order and a far cry from the legions of warriors that once protected the galaxy from evil. A couple new upstart Sith are a far cry from the Rule of Two dynasty that rose to rule the galaxy unopposed (for a time).

Balance, boys. Balance. :D

That is post-Lucas-Spec. Ed.-lunacy.

So, you're saying that Yoda, who is capable of spying on Luke throughout his entire life, can't search the galaxy, a la Prof. X with Magneto, for ANY other Jedi, and he tells like he's "the Last of the Jedi" and he's just lying to him?

Wait.

I just read your sig. You believe Han was always a good guy, he has no character development story arc, and he only shot Greedo because Greedo shot at him first.

I can now easily dismiss everything you've typed. Thanks.

They should have called it by it's real name:

Star Wars: Firefly

... and that was a tired cheap-ass soap-shlock of a show that is WAYyyy over rated.

Nothing is happening... ever! Every show was just talking and some stern looks or bizarre smiles.

It needed to be cancelled as fast as it was.

Did you see earlier when I said the show was just Firefly and Firefly was just Cowboy Bebop?

I stand behind that, but I imagine you are about to be internet-immolated for your little rant so I'm gonna stand way over here before the lightning strikes you.

Serenity was down right sexy... but the actual show was MEH!

I defies them bizarro-world nerd weirdos that fail to see just how craptastic much of their fandom really is.

My big complaint with rebels is that it was an awfully short season!

Not to worry. It's just a mid season break. New episodes are coming in January.

I love that guy... and the show could of been badass, like the film was.

:(

Even without the Sith order, there are still Dark Jedi about.

Also, did not the Clone Wars series establish that the balance that Anakin was supposed to bring was through keeping The Son and The Daughter in check? Or was that just completely metaphoric, them being the physical embodiments of the Dark and Light sides of the force respectively. Of course his actions did lead to the death of The Son, Daughter, and Father...

Now when you start talking crap about Firefly, how are we supposed to take anything that comes out of your mouth seriously?

You can claim that Serenity was great while Firely was lacking but take note that Serenity would have never, ever come into existence without the string following of Firefly. It was a great spaghetti-western-scifi and executed by Whedon and cast in an excellent fashion.

did I ever mention I like SG1?

I dunno, Farscape set the bar pretty high. Muppets, capers, giant living ships, hot babes... that series had it all.

I mean, muppets, **** it!

MUPPETS.

THAT FARTED HELIUM.

Farscape was a quality show, and it got better over time.

What's great about the show is that it's NOT "badass" like the film was.

I never knew Firefly Haters were a thing. Huh. Lookithat.

I imagine that the Venn diagram of Firefly Haters who think Serenity was "badass" and the people who paid to watch, and enjoyed, "The Hobbit" movies and everything Michael Bay ever made is just a picture of a circle, so I'll still sleep okay.

I'd say you all just missed the point.

Oh I got it, but it was just boring. I despise the hobbit farce, and no it did not get any better with that second travesty. It sucks like the prequels suck.

:D

Also people who think that people who do not love what they love are dumb... yeah they suck too.

Do you guys seriously like Farscape? A NASA rocket scientist friend of mine was mental over the show. I could not stand it. I honestly saw no appeal in the show what so ever.

Firefly was a show about people in space, not explosions in space.

Joe, you've got to stop saying things suck in such an abrasive, careless way punctuated by smileys.

Dang, that is on the level of Jar Jar Binks right there.

Sorry if not having space magic ruined the show for you, they were just regular joes making a living in space. The fate of the galaxy did not rest on every episode. It was a far more sensible script that anything Lucas dreamed up.
