What is the number one thing you would like to see in X-wing?

By devotedknight, in X-Wing

I'd like them to completely change Boba Fett's ability.

Whenever Boba Fett is fielded by a fan boy... ok.

Seriously... I hope there'll be a wicked combo for Fett... maybe the Targigator combo will prove to work, else something along the way.

I believe you mean the Stayvigator :-D

The Stavontargor, I believe.

Card packs for ship upgrades.

If you want to run three ships with Predator or Engine Upgrade, you shouldn't be obligated to buy three Defenders or three Falcons.

I think this would be relatively cheap and easy to implement (it's just re-printing cards, after all) and if FFG were so inclined they could release one pack of upgrade cards for each of the waves of ships.

I imagine FFG would prefer not to include any new cards in these hypothetical packs, as that's part of the incentive to buy new ships, but for already-released ships I think it's reasonable to have access to additional copies of the printed cards if you're willing to buy them.

There are many on these forums that have mooted that Idea and I am indeed 1 of them but I cant help but think there would have been a lot less Shuttles (Advanced Sensor upgrade), Defenders (Predator upgrade) & Transports (X-Wing pilots etc) purchased had there been other means to get them.

admittedly now they have re-released Advanced sensors in the E-Wing but there are still a lot more shuttles out there than there would have been.

The aces packs would have been better as card boosters but thats not how FFG does it.

you are right it would be cheap for them to do it but there is a much bigger profit margin if you jam it in the same packaging as a ship that players either dont want or only want 1 of.

additionally the falcon does actually come with 2 engine upgrades (and 2 stealth deice in the firespray & 2 anti-persuit lassers in the shuttle)

Too much?? :P

How about best of both worlds? Could we do a set of boosters with NEW pilots for OLD ships, and some new upgrades, along with the ones that are already available. I think that would make me pretty happy :)

But other than that I want one thing...

Neutral Factions which can be drafted into either side, all generic pilots.

The XG-1 "Star Wing" Assault Gunboat.

main2_StarWars_Gunboat1_zpseed682a4.jpg

...too specific?

Love this. +1. Though, it would have to come with the SLAM advanced system upgrade, which would probably look something like a Boost and +1 attack die for ordinance.

What I'd like to see more than new ships, though, is more pilots for the Y-Wing, perhaps with defensive or maneuvering-focused pilot abilities. Or something to make give the turret a little more flexibility (a stress token to use the turret at range 3 perhaps?).

I would be ok with it having a SLAM only if there are no plans to make the Missile Boat. The SLAM and the 40+ Missiles are the only reasons I didn't completely hate the Missile Boat in the old TIE Fighter game.

The Force. In some capacity.

The 'Farlander Move', that allows a player to use once (discard the card) in order to ignore the activation dial and perform a 'Barrel Roll' straight back 3 move. Causes 1 stress and when shooting, all crits are hits.

I like to see them change the phantom from 4 attack to 3. But since that won't happen. Next is the fix to the Tie Advanced, since I have 6 that are not used :(

Fractalsponge's Tie Avenger. It was in the back of Essential Guide to Warfare so is technically canon.

NOPE... because people would still complain: "Awe man, why should I have to pay $10 for the Wave Four Imperial Card Set, when all I want from it are three ------ cards?!"

I would like to see some long term campaign games and more scenarios, more team play. More Pilot card. More variants of the old star ships. A way to switch out upgrade slots. And free pizza!

They already did that they are called Imperial Aces and Rebel Aces :)

The only difference is you have to pay full whack for the new ships, even if you already have enough to play standard with (i.e. already have 5 interceptors but have to buy 2 more just for the new pilot & upgrade cards even though you can't use more than 5 interceptors in standard play)

More terrain and not just debris fields because that's really not much different than an asteroid field.

I like how the Correlian Corvette template can be used for an obstacle - so maybe some of those. Let it give a flavor of the fighter battle going on while the big ships pound each other as well. Just anything to get us out of the bloody boring half dozen asteroids all the time!

Some space station templates, pirate bases, nebulas, etc.

Would like to see a pilot card pack that has some of the already named pilots in alt ships like corran, tycho, etc. either with the initial or new pilot traits.

Would like the tie advanced and y wing to have a justified existence.

Would like to see the gunboat and tie advanced version from the x-wing series of pcgames (call it the avenger if you must)

Would not like to see anything from the prequels, more turret ships or anything more than fighter size, or really any other wacky designs.

I thought including the phantom was a stretch and I even played rebal assault as a kid. Probably the dumbest thing in this awesome game is the advanced having a 2 attack and the phantom 4.

I used to wonder why they've rushed out so many ships so fast but I've decided they realized the Star Wars universe is about to be turned upside down one way or another soon. As soon as the new movies are out the old ones we love will either still be awesome or might be kind of lame. The prequels had few space battles and not much to catch our imagination as far as dogfighting is concerned. I remember thinking episode one should have been called land wars instead.

I very much doubt they'll make that mistake again but you should never under estimate Hollywoods ability to make bad decisions.

Just one thing....

Ewok Glider complete with a little Ewok Pilot in a set of stolen Stormtrooper Armour.

In no particular order:

Updated TIE Advanced (lower cost or higher attack, a generic pilot with an EPT slot, more named pilots).

More action sharing/giving for the Empire (such as dutch, garvin, lando, and the HWK pilots).

A third faction (preferably a scum & villiany theme, but not just Black Sun or just Hutt cartel, some thing more broad).

Huge Imperial ships (obviously these are already on the way).

More obsticles, even if they're for casual play only.

A ship with a banked K-turn.

An non-EPT upgrade that allows rerolls of agility dice.

A way to bombs, missiles, and torpedoes without discarding, even on an attack that hits (ammo tokens, increased costs, spend an action to flip the card back over, etc).

A Tractor Beam cannon.

All I want. My fav SW fighter.

A Lancer-class Frigate.

Definitely want to see older ships get updates - not 'reworks', just simply repaints with new pilots to add new roles to ships like the Y-Wing, Advanced, etc. Basically, if the ship only has two unique pilots, give 'em more!

I would like to see all upgrade cards viable in top tier tournaments.

Even in casual games there are cards I never consider. At our last weekly tourny for sh*ts and giggles I slapped engine upgrade and daredevil on Boba; and Vader with Squad leader. It was really fun seeing Boba do donuts around asteriods :P

The Force. In some capacity.

I believe that is known in-game as Focus. Hence Luke's pilot ability (and Gunner ability) - the Force is STRONG with this one.
