Any SE Michigan games?

Is the list of games in SE Michigan current? RIW was the only store I could find still listing X-Wing games on their schedule.

I live in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area and was looking for a group that has a usual set of games that I could hopefully join in with. If they didn't mind, I would like to observe the first few games to get an idea of a strategy.

Pandemonium in Garden City started their normal XWing league last week again. League days (and most general XWing days) are Thursday nights and Saturdays. They also run at least 3-4 sessions of Heroes of Aturi Cluster at a time which is the most I've ever seen.

Eternal Games in Warren still runs every Friday night at 7 PM.

Next Friday (7 APR) will be a kit tournament.

They're 20-25 minutes from me and I try to get there every Thursday (usually end up a little late).

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to see what would work out best between these stores. I would hate to come to a tournament with my current understanding of the game and be a total noob.

If you use Facebook, I would highly recommend joining the X Wing Michigan group, it's much more active than these forums for finding games. Also, let me save you a trip out to RIW tomorrow, the scene has pretty much died, and it's apparently my fault for not consistently showing up to grow the community =/.

In any case, welcome to the game!

Do you still do stuff at RIW @Khyros ? or do you go to Flatland; I remember seeing you at a Pando tournament last summer but I also know your very competitive/and travel

Come on out. We welcome total noobs -- we'll teach you how to play! You learn more when you get more games in, and the Friday night tournament format is a great way to guarantee three games.

I might just do that actually - it's not too far away from me. I think I figured this out before but I want to make sure: are we only supposed to build a force for one side: ie just Rebels. I'm used to Star Wars CCG where I needed to build Dark Side and Light Side decks for tournaments.

I presume that it's the standard 100 point build as well?

Yes, 100 point lists of one faction (and bring your obstacles -- you have to have 3). Any of the three factions will do (Rebel, Scum, Imperial). For our three-round evening tournaments you play the same list for all three rounds. $5 entry, Swiss-style pairings. Normally the entry fee gets redistributed as store credit, but this Friday at Eternal they're supposed to have an Organized Play kit to give out.

I had migrated towards Flat Lands on Friday, but then they killed that by making it Sunday, and then Sunday didn't work, but they never revived Fridays. I have nothing against playing at RIW though, I would just make sure someone is going before I drive out - I hate going there and not having anyone to play with. We were doing a bunch of HotAC before everyone else in the area was doing it, and we were playing through the Galactic Campaign I put together, but since I can't ensure that I can make it every week, it always seems to die. But if you're willing to take up the torch and revive the scene and be the go to guy, I'll definitely support you.

PS - I have absolutely nothing against playing beginners and helping them learn how to get better.

It's a great store and great group to play with. I moved north so my 30 minute drive there turned into an hour, thus I haven't been in forever. Would definitely recommend playing there.

We had a nice tournament at Destiny games on 4/8. It turned out they did have the spring kit. Had 8 players show up, and the organizer did a nice job, even giving us X-wing battle music for ambience.

Thanks to anyone who came out for it! They are planning on holding a monthly tournament, so maybe see more of you next time!

Alright, let's start aggregating the Store Championship info. I'll be asking stores for info, but if anyone knows something not listed here, please comment and I'll put it up.

First, here's a map of all of the locations (Except Taiga as that's the only one in the UP and was messing with the default zoom level).

Man, Unknown Date is going to be really busy!

Just started playing about a month ago. Looking for a regular weekly place to play in/around Ann Arbor. So far I haven't seen anything solid on any of the websites of the local game stores for anything regarding weekly play anyone in the area have any info? Looking for day / time. Thanks!

Edited by KnivesRT

I would assume some of these dates announced recently since another local store had said they should be announced around Worlds weekend.

Anybody know of anywhere to play in the Chesterfield, Clinton township, Utica area? I work in Clinton township but live in Capac (20 mins east of Lapeer) and would like to find somewhere near work that I can play after work. I would also do Port Huron if there is anyone who plays there.

I updated the list based on the latest info I have.

Take a look at the map I posted in my Store Championship post above. It looks like the closest store would be Gamer's Gauntlet. I believe their normal play day is Tuesday night, but I would confirm with the store.

Hi all. Going to my first tournament on Saturday at pandemonium. Can't wait to play against some new players and meet some other people who love the game. Right now I am one engine upgrade away from my list. Is anyone going that could lend me the card for the tournament? I would be willing to buy as well if that works. Thanks in advance for any help. Thanks

dylan

Hey Dylan, don't worry about it, I've never gone to a tourney and been denied borrowing a card. Heck I'm going to need to borrow and R3-A2 as I lost mine recently :(.

Thanks Khyros,

my buddy and I are looking forward to playing against some different people and getting to know the community. Hoping that I'll get to attend a few more events as well.

I'll try to remember, but I have an extra Engine Upgrade card from the Store Championship kits that I'll just give you. We'll end up getting another one after/during the tournament anyway because it's the free alt art card for the kit. Again "I'll try to remember" to make sure I have that extra with me.

Awesome. Thanks. Didn't realize everyone got something in a tournament. If that is the card and they are legal, maybe I can get mine early for the tournament and that solves it

Bumperooski...

So I've definitely grown bored of the standard 100/6 deathmatch. So is anyone interested in doing other stuff? Heroes of the Aturi Cluster (I have all the stuff), or Epic matches, or something else? Lemme know.
