I LOVE DEMOCRACY

The fringe left is sitting in a california beachhouse printing communist propaganda and smashing the windows of their local wallmart 3 times a month.

The fringe right is sitting in the white house and running the mainstream republican party.

So, yeah, somehow I am more afraid of one of those fringe groups.

Fringe left is a little more extreme than that which is the point; their actions are ignored or downplayed or outright encouraged.

You're about to see what real "unAmerican" is for the next four years under this regime.

I cannot wait to see what country we invade next.

The last 2 wars America started were under a Republican president, Bush and Bush Light.

Now for a really spicy take, the protest's in the Capitol for an Audit have just as much validity as the BLM protests. Both are based on either a wilful ignorance of the truth or a belief the numbers are wrong.

BLM is mostly about stopping race related, state sponsored, violence, as far as I can tell.

I guess if you consider an election to be state sponsored violence against Trumps right to be infinite president, you might be correct.

I was part of the troop surges in Afghanistan under Obama. Member when he said he was going to get us out of those wars? I member. I mean technically he ended the missions there but the troops never left.

Actually under Obama we got involved in more countries -

Biden is more of the same. They all are.

Of course they are.

America's economy is built on military conflict. In fact, it's the biggest export.

Ok, so y'all're not redhats, but instead you're the "everyone's equally awful" types. I need a derogatory nickname for you based on fae and clothing, but I got nothing. Keep being edgy and cynical and stuff, I'm sure that'll work out for you eventually and isn't just an excuse to maintain your status quo without having any responsibilities.

And a HUGE (heck, our biggest single) national Socialist expenditure. Which is conveniently forgotten by all those trickle-down, boot-strap capitalists who whine that socialism will be the end of life as we know it.

Oddly, I haven't needed a tank this week, but I wouldn't mind health care, social services, and a myriad of other public, economy-of-scale services that are provided by First World countries.

A country as big and as important as the US should have more than two sides. The system won't allow that so burn down the system. The insurrection did more to this effect in one day than the fortune 500 sponsored BLM protests did all summer.

You elected the status quo candidate who mouthed platitudes for you. Trump was the same just with a side of spice. Had he actually been the man he ran as in 2016 something good might have gotten accomplished. Expect Biden to die or step down in a year and welcome President Kamala to her throne for the next decade. Unless of course Americans get pissed enough in 2 years to hand the senate or house the the Republicans.

If you can't tell the difference between "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" and "Six Million Was Not Enough", you just might be a Nazi.

Quit your hand wringing for a second and realize those people who protested are not actual Nazis. You might need a simple allegory to understand politics but 75% of humanity can comprehend more the me good them bad.

Its people like you that think white milk, the okay hand signal, and Pepe the frog are alt right hate symbols that bring me the most joy.

Stop giving McFoy a platform, he feeds off your attention.

Figures you'd come crawling out when I mention a percentage. Only 41% of any given thing I post is trolling.

And please don't apply your narrow minded worldview on me. I haven't had any soy in over 3 years, I fall under the neckbeard category.

We‘ve all seen the guy wearing the „Camp Auschwitz“-Shirt. Your pseudo-intelectualism is entertaining, but you are fooling no one.

No, we elected the vanilla candidate which the DNP placed in front of us in a very heavy-handed bait-and-switch maneuver partway thru the primaries. I would have voted for any number of the other candidates, but was given the choice of Vanilla or Orange. 2020, year of the Dreamsicle presidential race.

Spice? Trump is a radioactive pile of infective feces. His is Satan cut with a yellow tint. All his does is stir hate, divisiveness, and brings out the worst in people, just like the devil. 100% pure evil with a red tie. I don't give a **** what he "accomplished." It is all smeared with the purulent discharge of every twitter ejaculate that man ever wrote.

welcome President Kamala

At least America would be moving to ball forward. In fact, I voted for Biden knowing this was a possibility.

Yeah, fair.

I know you know, but I think it bears repeating that for those who don't that there were a lot of Nazis of various stripes in this riot, and it wasn't just some silly meme. Guns and zip-tie handcuffs for kidnapping folks (like the foiled plot in Michigan) and Molotov cocktails and pipebombs. Things didn't turn out that bad on this one day, but it was close.

Those involved who weren't Nazis out for blood, well, they're grown adults, who made a choice to stand shoulder to shoulder with these folks, who ought to take responsibility for their actions.

I live an hour from the border like most Canadians. Anything you folks do down there reverberates up here. We have a Prime Minister that has violated governmental ethics 5 times and still people vote for him. These past 4 years have shown how ****** the system is, Cheeto Hitler threw back the curtain through his own bumbling (evil and nefarious bumbling) and the machinations of those trying to get rid of him. How you can look at that then go ahead and think Kamala, a career politician who couldn't even hold double digit support in her home state is a step towards the better.

Well, not to mislead. That particular study was done in such a small sample and the questions were leading so it can't really be trusted. I imagine if someone ran a legitimate survey among all the mentally ill sub factions you'd get a more realistic number.

Gonna miss these forums, y’all a bunch of degenerates since the wave 1 days of tie spam.

Well, I'm dying to know, now that I see you have it all figured out, who should be leading our 2 fine nations?

Presently I don't think there is anyone in the establishment who is fit to lead either country. Ideally Ron Paul in the US and Jack Layton (RIP) in Canada if you used the existing systems and it was 15 years ago. If I had to pick today Bernie might actually be the best choice.

Seats for Congress, Representatives and the Canadian equivalents should be selected randomly from the citizenry each term, the Presidency/ Prime Minister could even be a true democratic election. No Parties, just people. The possibility of being randomly selected every 4 years should encourage people to have a functional understanding of the requirements for political seats.

In reality we should hand over governance to AI as soon as feasible.

This is just f*cking stupid and the kind of mindset we should be against. Not everyone on the right is Team Cancer and there are some pretty bad things on your saintly Team Democracy.

That's the problem. Since 2010, the right party in this country has continued to bow to the extremist right. Absorbing the Tea Party is a direct lead up to Trump. And while the path to Trump is much longer than that, its a bit easier to see. Sure, there are plenty of conservative beliefs that fall into simple, easy debatable areas. But that's not what the GOP is anymore. They have been swallowed up entirely by Trumpism. I mean, the freaking head of the RNC had to literally change her name to appease Trump. There are valuable conservatives out there. But, at the moment, the cannot gain a voice or power, because the base refuses to accept "moderation" anymore.

And I say this as someone who very nearly fell down into what is called the alt-right. If not for the grace of god, I would have been all in on gamergate and comicgate, and god knows how far I would have gone. And thank god a cartoon came out that prevented that. Because god, the lingo they use unironically is embarrassing. I follow a bunch of fairly conservative lawyers on twitter, and that has been a very helpful way of keeping a balanced view.
