I think the first order pack will go one of two ways

An ace style pack with a upsilon and tie fo. This allows them to get an upsilon in 2nd edition packaging with content that isn't in the conversion kit (to make me buy more upsilons). This would allow them to focus on crew/pilots that complements the upsilon.

They could also do two tie/fo's and a TIE/ba (with a more traditional paint scheme). The TIE/ba is fun to fly and they have room to work with the chassis.

I assume they will focus on characters from the resistance cartoon in either case.

I still say the Ups is a hard sell on its own. Look how the price has tanked on Amazon over the last year and a half; it was a tough enough sell in 1.0, and by now the market has to be saturated. The Xi could create a disincentive for newer players to reach for the Ups too, as it’ll probably be a more points-friendly crew carrier. Adding a second ship with fresh content to a 2.0 Ups set is the way .

We probably don’t need more TIE/fo pilots, but who knows; it’s not like we have a fo Howlrunner or Iden yet, so there’s probably room. In contrast, the default red BA creates a perfect opportunity to sell us an alt-paint in more traditional FO colors. Give us a couple of I2 generics to synergize with Tina shenanigans, and a couple more interesting uniques on the flip-sides of the bases, and I’d probably open my wallet.

First Order doesn't need new pilots so much as new ships. Every ship has a pretty reasonable array of pilots.

If there's eventually a FO Squadron pack, I'd love 2x FO Bombers, and I guess a different TIE/ba. Could be SF, but I want double-bomber. That'd be sweet.

The bomber will add so much to faction when it gets announced. It's the probably the first order ship I'm most excited about.

During the adepticon primer they indicated the squadron packs were going to consist of released content. Now granted we have no idea when/if these will drop except that resistance is first and it has an orange x wing

Way to go. I found the stuff about iron. Squadron interesting. Which led me to they could call it the Iron Phoenix squadron pack. Which sounds totally 80's

I’ll +1 the interest in learning about a YT-2400 connection in Rebels. I had no idea that the humble Dashmobile had been revisited so decisively in nu-canon.

That could even dovetail with my pet speculation that the Ups, Lambda, and Scavenged YT won’t get solo rereleases—maybe several factions could be primed to get a large+small pack containing a 1.0 large just now making the jump to 2.0, and a 2.0 small getting additional pilots. I wouldn’t have figured the 2400 into such an arrangement, but I could see it working!

I'll take FFG at their word when they reveal the contents. They've changed plans enough that any guesses are just that.

Good point.

Just rewatching Resistance and on nearly every other episode (specially S2) the First Order consistently refers to the Resistance and other main characters etc as Fugitives and Collaborators.

Good context. I haven't been able to catch the show yet.

Still not the direction I would have gone in naming things, but if it's a line from the show, that makes sense.

Anyhow, I just figured out a reason I'd definitely buy a Resistance Squadron Pack. Suppose it has three new T-70 pilots. Suppose the flip side on all those pilots is a Black Squadron Ace.

Unless these things are at the printers and FFG has already screwed it up.

You assume ffg is paying attention to these details. I wouldn’t make such an assumption.

Having used the recent B&N sale (and a friendly recipient of lightly-stripped T-70s) to finish reaching 4 BSAs myself... I can vouch for how useful this might be to those not crazy enough to do the same. I don’t know why FFG gave the BSA short shrift in the conversion kit, but it’s annoying!

The First Order Raider has - as I named earlier - the ship card "First Order Collaborators", which is extra funny with this bit of information.

But your comment corroborates the suspicion that it is not Scum, but sequel faction stuff.

Because they are either clueless, do not have enough time, do not care or bad quality control (choose yourself, but with the Cr90 dial and the 1ed C-Roc blue line disasters I would assume quality control) . If I remember correctly the Scum conversion kit had 4 cards for 4 TPV Scyk pilots, 3 dials (maybe 4), but only 2 TPV cardboard inlets. Some similar mismatch was even in the Z95s.

Getting FFG to not screw something up ain't like dusting crops boy! If they don't do this right we could end up with a bunch of same-siders again, or no new generics at all and that would end our fun real quick wouldn't it!

So the Resistance Squadron pack has now been spoiled, Herald's of Hope, this strengthens Fugitives and Collaborators likely being the S&V Squadron Pack.

Possibilities that fit the Rebels series era that I'm aware of: HWK + 2x MGT and Lancer (Ketsu Onyo and Sabine Wrenn, obviously, are both from that series) + 1 MGT. In either case it should hopefully include the new Illicits that are coming in Jango's expac (fingers crossed for something that makes Coaxium Hyperfuel usable on more than just the ******* Resistance rat rod) and some of the "Tie specific" upgrades that are coming in the Tie/rb Expac

I made some cynical posts in this thread about FFG using this as a way to reprint hereos of the resistance or otherwise reprint ships that there still massive 1.0 stock. I am very excited to be wrong. 2 X wing s and an a wing is a great entry point!

Wonder if the devs can talk about the new 3 squad packs this afternoon? Hoping they're slated for January or so; I only have so much patience. I'm an Empire main and Rebel secondary, and while the Brute is an awesome new addition it only helps so much.

And I've been wanting to play Acey Rebels forever but all we have is tankers. 😕 Holding out hope for Hera to come within 6 months. Guess we'll see...

I mean, some of the Legion content they covered isn't coming till January, so why can't X-Wing get a couple more reveals? OT factions aren't even getting reprints these days...
