By P-47 Thunderbolt, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beginner Game

Rav was in contact with Gala while she scouted for Wakati Root.

Refresher: Gala's Report.

Mother, I have tracked Wakati Root to a small Imperial outpost world of Kiev , on the edge of Wild Space. The Imperials have a strong presence here, based mainly at the only serviceable Spaceport (Unnamed, as far I am able to determine) I believe this is a supply hub for Root and other Imperials in the region. I am scheduled to meet a reliable contact in a few days that promises to have additional information from various Imperial databases. (I don’t know how they managed this, I hope to learn.) Attached is the planetary coordinates and global positioning data for the Spaceport and meeting rendezvous point.

Rav's Report:

(Official Imperial records)

Enlisted in Candorran Sector Defense Force. (Served ten years) <Candor maintained neutrality during ensuing conflicts>

Served eight years as Representative in the Republic Senate.

Enlisted in the Grand Army after Geonosis, Commissioned with rank of Commander and put in command of Concentric; a Venatar-class Star Destroyer.

After the Clone Wars, officially put in charge of a think-tank and given command of a Victory-class Star Destroyer; Revenant.

Awarded the rank of Grand Moff five years before the Rebels blew up the first Deathstar over Yavin.

Disappeared from official records sometime after that.

(Unofficial, Partially Confirmed)

Collector of Force related artifacts while in the Senate, rumor of meeting Palpatine while they were Senators, possible supplier of artifacts to the future Emperor. (Partially confirmed via news articles and a poorly deleted complaint from the Jedi Temple- referencing “powerful and dangerous” items in personal collections- Root and Palpatine among the names listed. Side note: reporters and documents went missing soon after story broke, subject was dropped.)

After the Empire took over, possibly advised the Emperor or was assigned to collect artifacts for Palpatine and archive them. (Partially confirmed through underworld source and Black Market contact.)

Reconnaissance Report

Attached probe (VT-47) to supply shuttle (DS7/Epsilon-S8727) –Manifest listed Vicsil as destination. Probe detached when entering atmosphere and maintained low power mode and passive scanning to surface. Probe (VT-47) dispatched record module 1A to rendezvous.

Record Module 1A smuggled aboard resupply shuttle (unknown) and detached in open space lane (DL476/328/22ASL) Transmission of retrieval signal and retrieved (ten days after insertion)

Assessment of data: Vicsil heavily forested in tropical foliage and scattered mountain ranges –specific details unknown due to mission parameters. Structures: Imperial architecture common to high ranked personnel, main Citadel building with perimeter fence and low security wall. (Internal details unknown)

Small auxiliary compound and landing pad one three kilometers from Citadel. Warehousing and supply depot for small garrison.

Audio recordings indicate presence of repulsorlift vehicles – possibly bikes in area. Emission readings of vessels indicate primarily Supply shuttles, (Lambda and Sentinel) and at least one VT-49 Decimator are in regular rotation. (Audio also contains what appear to be creature cries –Caution advised)

Topographic map included. (Points of interest highlighted)

@RuusMarev , what did the sound come from? Was it an astromech? Anything important about it? I mentioned Cadena looking for it, but never got a response.

If she looks through the gap, there is a space where a C1 astromech is hiding... (I think I gushed too much with Rav and Crash.. curse my love of goofy B1's!)

(the Funko based on M5-R3 from Galaxys Edge) but for our purposes, 1:1

Funko POP! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - R5 Unit (Target Exclusive) : Target

So, what's the plan?

Steal a ship. Preferably a Gozanti. :D

It sounds like we've got all the info possible about Gala/the artefact that we can, at least here on Kiev. So I'm up for the acquisition of a new means of transportataion. :)

So, on to the main Spaceport and window shop for ships, correct?

Yes, unless Rav has any additional intel for us.

Nope, I think that's it..

*Rav is referring 3-4 troopers per docking birth..

When you scout the Spaceport, you find a VT-49 Decimator, Lambda shuttle and Sentinel assault craft. (The 2 Gozanti are on permanent assignment and would be noticed if one left.)

B e rth. Don't want a repeat of Vanya's misspellings... :D

I vote we steal the VT-49 and the Lambda if we can swing it. @Bellona , what do you think? Do you want to narrate the scouting, or shall I?

Isn't the Lambda the traditional "grand theft starship" target in GFFA?

:D

you could go for the bigger Sentinel... to mix it up :D

I'm familiar with the Lambda. What is the VT-49?

As for narrating the scouting, I'm fine with that unless dice rolls are needed.

No picture is showing for me, but I've just seen a tiny one in the OD's vehicle section. Based on the info there, my choices are either the Lambda or the Decimator, with a preference for the Lambda.

We still have a crate of trade goods at The Sleeping Hutt . We need to retrieve and transport it off-planet, or else we'll end up owing the Magna clan. Maybe we could sell it to the Jawas?

The Imperial spaceport is officially only reachable through the main building (a two-story, bunker-like structure). The landing pads are open air, separated by thick walls with enclosed passageways connecting them and small buildings with the main building.

How about climbing up onto the top of those thick walls - at night to avoid being easily detected - and dropping into the landing bay that we want, possibly after some target-shooting (the 3 to 4 expected stormies)?

(Potential) problems: getting the cargo on board if it's still unsold, possibility of maglocks on the shuttle (more likely if they're expecting trouble). Oh, yeah, and getting shot down as we leave the planet ... codes, we need codes! Luckily, C1-N8 - whom I'm thinking of calling "Nate" - can likely deal with maglocks and codes. We just have to get him over the walls to the ship.

Possible help: "Super-Helpful Jawa on Kiev" (as per OOC p. 72), maaaaybe Rav. How about one of them organising a distraction (explosive or not) at the other end of town?

It's getting very late over here, so I won't be available for much longer today ("Tuesday", even though it's officially Wednesday for me now).

Yeah, I say let's try and sell the goods now.

I suggest we ambush the stormtroopers in two bays simultaneously, we've got the skill and numbers for it. Cadena ought to be able to carry C1 easily enough, she's got just 1/9 Encumbrance. Strap the trashcan to her back for 6 Encumbrance and she'll be fine.

If there are maglocks, Cin (my name suggestion, if we go that route, since it sounds more Star Wars-y) can handle them and then we could cart him over to the other ship to get it up and running if necessary/plausible. To that end, C1-N8 would probably be best going for the Decimator first, so maybe Cadena (with C1-N8) and Sienna take the Decimator while Barda, Aleena, and Crash(?) take the Lambda.

I'm iffy on the idea of a distraction, we don't really want to get the others into trouble if we can avoid it.

Sentinel vs. Lambda: Sentinel has +1 Armor, but the Lambda has 1 more handling and sensors go out to Short instead of close. The Sentinel has heavier weapons, but no aft weapons and we don't have high enough Agility/Gunnery to really take advantage of higher Linked qualities.

I'd recommend going with the Lambda, but prioritize the VT-49.

I was going to post recon, but I think we should sell the stuff first, then recon and have the characters determine how they are to proceed from there. Perhaps waiting until dark. If the spaceport is lit, but the walls are lacking in light, we may be able to take advantage of the light difference in our escapades (though more than likely, that would simply be narrative since it sounds like recon is a given, no checks necessary).

(fun fact, we just hit 20k posts on the EotE Beginner Game subforum, and Kandosii/Tales combined is more than half of that)

@RuusMarev , what'll be the difficulty to sell the trade goods?
