Like the others, Barda isnt able to determine if they are being watched..

Alena is aware, but possibly like Cadena, isn't comfortable with not being able to see..... right up to when she could feel a sensation, like being tapped on a shoulder.

(I'm going to count the Dark pip as a Failure, negating one of the Light..-Aleena doesn't feel drawing the attention.. but she does feel the "tap", so she's aware there is a Force user in the building.)

Would you characterise the "tapping" as simply the Force saying that there's another Force user in the building, or is it more akin to the unknown Force user deliberately saying "hello" on a different bandwidth than sapients normally use for interaction?

Also, did we get a chance to recover Strain from the scrapyard/rock formation areas?

I see it as a kind of Force Spidey-Sense.. so the 'tap' wasn't physical, more of a sensation of someone getting your attention.

Actually, the Perception/FR checks in the bar appear to be the first to produce Strain. Previous checks didn't produce Strain via Threats (except for the narratively "strained" ankle which slowed Barda's progress through the bush - there were no actual Threats on that roll either).

What I mis-remembered were the Setbacks from the failed Fear checks, but I assumed that leaving the landing field for the rock formation/scrap yard to talk with Duncan and the jawas were separate scenes from the landing field itself. And also separate from the cantina scene.

So Aleena and Barda each have 1 Strain now.

Normally Force pips don't work that way, but I have no problem with accepting it in this situation.

(There should have been clearer RAW on how Force users recognise each other.)

Thats why I tried treating this as a special circumstance as a Perception check with a Force component...

No luck there! ... Not too surprising, considering that Aleena only has FR 2 ...

(The basic Seek power variant for finding people/things requires 2 Force pips to work, and IIRC the Destiny pool is already pretty dark at LS 1 vs. DS 3.)

It took me several moments of staring at Jen Vanth's character sheet, looking for the Seek power, before I realised that it was the wrong character, campaign, and "line", and went looking for Aleena's sheet instead!
