Just rolled strain recovery.

Unfortunately you don't get strain recovery, your wounds were over your threshold which set your strain threshold to maximum. Your wounds didn't drop below threshold until after the encounter ended so recovery couldn't help you... you only get the strain healed that Mireska heals... Ker'see was seriously messed up by Jango.

Remembering what I had attached the lightsaber had a magnetic tether and it also has a genelock attachment. Not sure if this would have stopped him from taking it but he won't be able to use it.

Actually he won't be able to use it until removing the gene lock, which is easy enough to discover needs to be removed. Trust me he'll be able to use it when it comes time for your duel.

Recovered 7 strain. That puts me at 4/17 strain.

I was wrong about the rule and mistook.a white pip from AoR (balance first appeared in AoR' force sensitive emergent, back then they weren't using the half white half black symbol for force pips) for a force die.

Roll 5eF too

So you recovered 5 strain, so you're at 6/17.

I was also wrong about your earned xp... I think you're at 975 earned xp not 1000.

@MrTInce

Did Ker'see put in the Self-Destruct mod on the Genelock attachment? That would inflict a critical on someone trying to use it the first time and destroy the weapon itself.

It's not on the character sheet but I don't think a droid technician would make it go boom because no dna to get a different user read out on.

Wouldn't it be more in the spirit of that attachment's mod that if the correct DNA is not present when doing anything with the weapon (either using it or opening it up), it goes "boom"?

If that was true, the owner couldn't use it while wearing gloves/space suit

I suppose there could be a complicated work around that allows the owner to deactivate genelock before putting on gloves. Otherwise with gloves it doesn't ignite or go boom.

In the post battle scene is Ker'see able to recover her bow without issue? How far away are the sniper nests?

Running total of successful Heals adminstered by Mireska (important with regard to the 5/day Heal-and-stimpack limit) ...

Mireska - 2

Ker'see - 2

Duchess - 1

Jorin - 2

Ethan - 0

Mireska has used 6 out of combat "rounds" on healing so far (not all successfully activated).

She can do more, assuming that the group has the time for it.

If Mireska removes the rest of Ethan's Strain, then he and Jorin could go back to the crashed speeder bike and fix it (and make sure that the sabotage charges are okay), then use it to meet up at the enemy sniper nest. In the meantime Ker'see, Duchess, and Mireska can go directly to the enemy sniper nest to secure the prisoner and any interesting items, using Ker'see's and Ethan's BARCs. Maybe we could also grab some B1 CPUs/memory storage if that would benefit Republic Intelligence and/or the local garrison's intelligence office.

@Bellona maybe propose a narration in this OOC thread and wrap things up.

I can get to this later today if you want. I just want to be certain first about the rest of the healing and if we're agreed on the follow-up actions.

Who needs more healing - both of Wounds and Strain?

Three Force Leaps have usually been enough to get around to different locations.

Yes, across the river, extreme range.

If Ethan is only at 6 strain now, I don't think it needs to be healed, but since no combat intended fron now until end of foray, it shouldn't matter either way.

Anyway this encounter seems to have pushed all of the jedi PCs to their limits in one way or another (Ethan in terms of strain), the others in terms of wounds/crits... so after action report did all the jedi PCs feel like they got a turn to shine (and a turn to be pushed to/past their limits)?

Well Ker'see would fetch her bow and move over to the sniper nests for a rummage.

Any rolls you need for that?

Ok. Finding the weapons and blinded prisoner requires no rolls, if there's something else that you'd like to find, let me know

What weapons are there? Is there anything I could use to make a saddle bag for The Duchess?

Along with the blinded sniper at 16/17 wounds, there are 2 more dead snipers (one was cut in half at the waist), 2 dead spotters, 3 sniper rifles, 3 dragoon cavalry blasters up for grabs (I suggest @Bellona /Mireska @jhh3 /Ethan @RuusMarev /Jorin each claim one, having a blaster to fight with is useful when you don't want to reveal that you are a jedi, and the dragoon is one of the better blasters in the game... it's not a nova viper but it's still good), 2 ordinary blaster pistols

Here's the suggested scene wipe, going from the end of the combat through clean-up, sabotage, and return to the GAR garrison with the prisoner. It's long, so I put it in a spoiler here.

It also makes some assumptions about all the PCs, so please check it to make sure that it's true to the concept of what your own PC is like!

And then either give it a positive reaction or just post here in OOC that you have approved it (or have some comments/suggestions for changes).

@EliasWindrider @MrTInce @RuusMarev @jhh3

Update: Now that everyone has approved the contents, the IC post has been made.

The last battle droid hit the floor and silence reigned.

Ethan, Jorin, and Mireska looked around carefully, checking that there were no more enemies. The Duchess nosed Ker’see’s unconscious body, then sat down beside her with a distressed trill.

Once assured that there were no more immediate threats, Mireska began to heal her comrades, starting with Ker’see. The rapidly vanishing adrenaline from the recent battle made it difficult for her to maintain the necessary focus, but she persevered. Even the Duchess deigned to be at least partially healed of the consequences of her overly-enthusiastic pounce and subsequent fall.

The Jedi discussed their next options, and decided that Ethan and Jorin would go to the site of the speeder bike crash. There they would right the BARC, check the sabotage charges, and make any necessary quick fixes before using the double BARC to meet the other two at the enemy sniper’s nest. In the meantime, Ker’see would recover her beloved bow and Mireska check for intelligence-related salvage from the fallen B1s. It was a long shot, but maybe she’d find something actionable. They and Duchess would then take Ethan’s BARC and Ker’see’s double BARC to meet the others.

Once at the other sniper’s nest, the Jedi put the sole surviving - and blinded - sniper into binders. Mireska debated healing him of his blindness, but decided to wait until they were all safely back at the GAR garrison. She did heal his other injuries though. The sniper’s nest yielded a small trove of dangerous firearms, most of which the Jedi immediately confiscated “for undercover use”.

Ker’see set herself up in the enemy sniper’s nest, with Duchess guarding her back and the prisoner. Ethan, Mireska, and Jorin took the single and one of the double BARCs to lay the sabotage charges underneath the two bridges.

Deciding that expediency was the order of the day, they didn’t mess around with motion-sensitive triggers and the like and instead set up the charges with a normal detonator which was activated remotely once everyone was safely back on the Republic side of the river. After all, as Mireska pointed out, the armoured Mandalorian - who according to Republic Intelligence was probably the infamous (and demonstrably dangerous) bounty hunter Jango Fett - had escaped to the CIS forces and most likely knew the location of the that sniper’s nest.

As soon as they were at a safe distance, they blew the bridges and rendezvoused with Ker'see. The prisoner was tied to the baggage carrier of Ethan's BARC, and the Jedi rode quickly back to the GAR garrison.

Ker’see was notably disgruntled. Not only had Fett managed to deal her some serious wounds and knock her out, but he’d also made off with both her protective amulet and her lightsabre. She could only hope that he dealt himself an equally nasty injury if he tried to activate it. In the meantime, she needed to build a replacement lightsabre. And coddle the Duchess.

Meanwhile, Mireska was wondering what a devious man like Fett could do with the amulet if he discovered its function. She shivered mentally at the thought of him using it to gain unconventional access to space stations, underwater locations, and the like. We need to find out what he looks like, so that we have a better chance of identifying him.

Jorin was still keyed up after their foray into enemy territory. It had been at times exhilarating, terrifying, and sobering. There was still a lot left to learn, obviously.

Ethan just wanted to put his feet up and sleep. Coming almost directly from dogfights amongst the stars and in the sky to firefights on the ground had not made for a restful day.

@Bellona I'd like the clone mechanic "spanner" to be a recurring NPC, he's a good natured sort, slightly older clone (still in good physical condition, salt & pepper hair, or black with grey streaks, normally wears mechanic's overalls.

who might comment " Howdy Generals, Commander. Y'awl sure know how to keep a mechanic busy, thank you for the job security. I just wanted to let General Shin know that I should be able to get his starfighter spaceworthy in a few days. Combat worthy would normally be a week, but it might get deprioritized in favor of things more essential to the ground battle, things like I don't know, gettin a severely damaged BARC back in fightin' shape. But don't worry, I'll take care of ya Generals, Commander. Anything else y'awl need from me, just hollah. I'm ya man." this is the opportunity for @MrTInce to get the saddle bags for duchess he was asking about. Spanner speaks with a slight southern drawl (I imagine most Americans would understand what a southern drawl sounds like at least from movies or tv shows). He's basically a southern American version of Scotty from the original star trek series.

@MrTInce

The boost to survival from the knife doesn't apply to animal handling.

Couple of questions, what are the stats for the rifles?

If there's a big enough time gap I think Ker'see would make a weapon as according to RAW you can use survival.
