Do any of your characters in this campaign have (or intend to acquire) the Manipulate power from Endless Vigil (the Sentinel sourcebook), specifically the upgrade which allows the user to add Force dice to a Mechanics skill check?

Oooh, that sounds interesting...

10 XP for the base power (I suspect that none of the active characters have it, so no mentor discount), plus 15 XP more for the two necessary upgrades. 25 XP in total.

Most of the rest of the tree helps or hinders vehicles and droids, but there are a couple more upgrades which also affect Mechanics or Computers skill checks.

Doesn't look like a bad skill to have. I currently only have 10XP available.

We also have no Jedi "face". :(

I've just realised that none of the Jedi are optimised towards social skills (Charm, Coercion, Deception, Leadership, and Negotiation skills).

Are any of the Jedi heading towards the Influence power tree ("mind trick" plus improving social skills)?

I wanted to get Jorin to be a Shadow with Misdirect.. Mind Trick wouldn't be too far from that I suppose... but we'll see how my xp looks like at that point 🙂

I'm not trying to push people into anything - it's more pointing out options for later.

While we're on battlefields a lot, there will likely come a time when we need to be more ... subtle ... about trying to get our way. :)

Plus any Mass Combat checks are improved by the Leadership skill.

Re Mireska's armour in Oggdude's program:

I think that I've found the best work-around for Mireska's armour, now that the Armour Insert attachment is working properly in Oggdude's program.

Craft Armour (Reinforced Clothing): this produces the max. Soak 1, Defence 0 base that an Armour Insert can fit into.

Make sure that the crafting result gives +2 Hard Points (because Reinforced Clothing normally doesn't provide any Hard Points).

Add the Armour Insert attachment (no Hard Point requirements) and mod it.

Add the Portable Plasma Shield attachment (requires 2 Hard Points) and mod it.

After applying armor inserts... the armor has exactly 1 hp by RAW (if ogg dude doesn't say that then it hasn't been completely fixed), you needed to use one of 2 jedi artisan add 2 hp for it which would leave it with 1 hp that you could say put superior on.

Ethan has influence with the skills upgrade, so he can "make do" as a face if not excel, although he should do very well with coercion because of high willpower

Not quite Ker'see's flavour.

Judging on the current encounter, your best use of 10 xp would be the ebb/flow strength upgrade.

I mentioned that on the Oggdude threat. There was some confusion/disagreement about whether or not any (valid) armour with the Armour Insert actually became identical or not to Armoured Clothing. Hence me looking for a work-around.

It's a question I personally asked the devs, and got an answer for

Is the answer in the Developer Answered Questions thread? If yes, then you might want to weigh in in the Oggdude thread with a link to it.

I don't recall.

Is there a Lightsaber skill that deflects blaster bolts back at the attacker?

Talent: Improved Reflect. With 3 Threat or or a Despair, you can deal damage to the attacker based off of their attack against you.

Ahh, so its based on the bad roll of the attacker.

Yes.

But you can increase the odds of that happening by boosting your defense (the sense defense double upgrade, a defense of 4, the dodge talent is useful for adding an extra purple or changing a red to a purple) at short range the base difficulty is 1 purple, after the sense defense double up gr grade that's 1 red 1 purple and you have a 1/12 chance of a despair, throw dodge in the mix for 1 strain and that becomes 2 red and you've approximately doubled your chance of a despair, more than one rank of dodge isn't worth the strain cost in my opinion (diminishing returns), with a defense of 4 you're looking at 2 red and 4 black, against mooks it's pretty respectable but against highly capable opponents you're mostly hoping for despair which works out to 1/6 attacks maybe 1/5 cause of the 3 threat route.

@EliasWindrider , may I suggest some houseruled stats for the Droideka? I feel that personal deflector shields are too weak, and the authors obviously thought this too because they made the droideka tougher than the small droid tanks, which I do not believe is accurate.

I believe that they should be quite durable with the shield, but not so much without it. Adding ablative protection from the shield will also make it harder to crit them.

This is just a first draft, but here's what I've come up with so far:

Soak 5, WT 12, M/R Defense 0/0
Abilities: Shield Projector (Maneuver to activate/deactivate; while active: Gains Defense 2, Armor 1, and upgrades the difficulty of all combat checks targeting the droid once, but the droid cannot use the Move Maneuver)

With Soak 5 and WT 12 (18 to one-shot), it is very unlikely be taken out by a single shot with a DC-15, but it can be taken out by a single (2 success) shot from Ker'see's energy bow. Once its shield goes up (Breach and Pierce apply to the shield), you need to do 16 damage (or the equivalent with Pierce/Breach) to crit the droid or deal damage to it. This actually nerfs lightsaber attacks against it.
I would suggest adding a clause that Called Shot Aim with grenades can bypass the shield (but not the Defense/upgrade), as can normal attacks with vibro-weapons.

Then, on a successful combat check that deals damage, the attacking character can spend 2 Triumph to destroy the shield generator. Alternatively or additionally, if the droideka rolls Despair, its shield goes down.

Remind me to think about this later.

@EliasWindrider What did you changed to make the xp amount make sense? And what was that total again? Now with the 5xp. Is the pdf corrected?

I think your as of today total earned xp is the 975 I told you yesterday. Plus 120 staring xp, but in ogg dude you have to say 945 earned xp.

I made no correction beside adding 70 xp, 3 ranks of reflect and ebb/flow basic and strength. But I had to enter the custom/modified padawan spec.

Oops wrong place srry
