PBP Alt Univ: Clone Wars: Misc

@EliasWindrider

I need a GM ruling here ...

Based upon the Heal powers in the FaD CRB, would you allow the Control: Strain upgrade to remove as much Strain as a specific Heal power check would heal Wounds, or just as much Strain as Wounds actually healed?

In other words: if Mireska rolls a Heal result of 8 Wounds and 8 Strain on someone who's taken 2 Wounds and 6 Strain, would the target be healed of 2 Wounds and 6 Strain, or 2 Wounds and 2 Strain?

About to watch the last clone wars. So sad it's ending. :( Anyone seen it yet?

I've been keeping up with it. The last arc has been really good so far.

About to watch it now.

I haven't had the opportunity to watch any of TCW, but I do intend to at some point. And in case anyone was worried: spoilers do not bother me. :)

Just realized that the final episode released, so I watched that! It was really good.

I'm going to be working on copying everything from the pdf to this tomorrow. Is the total XP count right?

As of today your actual earned xp is 100 pts higher than listed on the sheet, but only 70 of that was available to spend and 60 of t by e 70has already been spent on the 10 xp reflect from Padawan, the 20 xp reflects from knight and niman disciple, and 10 xp on the basic ebb/flow power (if you had previously upgraded the character off camera the ebb/flow basic power would gave cost 5 xp because of a mentor discount jedi get, but spontaneously developing the power meant now mentor to teach you, but it was still the right decision at the time was instrumental in success). I'd recommend the strength upgrade to the ebb/flow power with the last 10 xp.

The other 30 that isn't available is a hack/work around to the ogg dude generator (at least at the time) not having the quick path to power rule available for characters starting in either of the jedi:knight/general specs, so I used the generators gm grants capability to let you start with FR 2 for free, and then reduced the earned xp by 30 to compensate. (The rule is 30 starting xp gets spent on increasing force rating from 1 to 2 to qualify to start in the jedi knight/general spec which has a fr2 requirement)

The padawan spec has been further (from the version in the char sheet) modified so that the beginner's luck talent occupies sincerest flattery's spot and sincerest flattery occupies valuable facts' spot, valuable facts gas been moved to a homebrew jedi librarian spec that has improved and supreme versions of valuable facts. Sense danger was also dropped from padawan and the 2 new talents to Padawan were secrets of the jedi and secrets of the jedi (improved), the improved version took the original location of beginners luck, and the not improved version took the location of sense danger, theses are the location of the talents in the padawan survivor tree which is the only official location for secrets of the jedi and improved)

I appreciate the time you took to get this info for me. Thanks!

Non of them? Not even the first season?

Nope. It was the result of circumstances at the time when the series first came out. Plus it's no fun to watch dubbed into another language even if/when it becomes available over here.

I do have vague knowledge of the plot events and characters though*, and like I said, I don't mind being spoiled.

* Reading good fanfic can be illuminating, as is Wookieepedia.

Would I be correct to guess that french or Spanish is the local language in your vicinity?

Northern Europe, i.e., north of the Alps.

(Does my language use really come across as being Romance-based?)

The name Bellona was what I was guessing based on, also for some reason I was thinking that you were in the utc/Greenwich time zone.

You write like your native language is English, but thought you were disliking the local language.

So Switzerland then, and the dubbed language you're complaining about is German?

Re "Bellona": I studied Latin for four years and it's lefts its mark. :)

Timezone-wise, I always said that I was in C.E.T. (Greenwich +1)*, IIRC that's 8 hours ahead of you (Mountain timezone, right?).

I have nothing against the local language (it's number two for me), it's just that I prefer to hear animated stuff in the original language. Kid's shows over here are almost always dubbed. Hence no TCW for me. *grumble*

Geography ... Switzerland is in the Alps and has four official languages (three of which are Romance). I'm further north.

* More correctly: we're on daylight saving/summer time now, so it's Greenwich +2 right now.

Come to think of it, how many RL timezones do we have represented among the players/GM in the campaign?

I'm in EST.

Are you in Sweden? From my observations, there seem to be a lot of Swedes on the forum.

(At first glance I misread that "EST" as one of the abbreviations for Estonia.)

Not in Sverige, but you're very close now.

Central, US for me. The Mid West. 🙂

@EliasWindrider

Re Mireska's armour in Oggdude's program:

I think that I've found the best work-around for Mireska's armour, now that the Armour Insert attachment is working properly in Oggdude's program.

Craft Armour (Reinforced Clothing): this produces the max. Soak 1, Defence 0 base that an Armour Insert can fit into.

Make sure that the crafting result gives +2 Hard Points (because Reinforced Clothing normally doesn't provide any Hard Points).

Add the Armour Insert attachment (no Hard Point requirements) and mod it.

Add the Portable Plasma Shield attachment (requires 2 Hard Points) and mod it.

Do any of your characters in this campaign have (or intend to acquire) the Manipulate power from Endless Vigil (the Sentinel sourcebook), specifically the upgrade which allows the user to add Force dice to a Mechanics skill check?
