I was going chestbursters!
That's my GM brain for you. Remember the Squamatans?
( @Edgehawk , was that a self-fulfilling prophecy, or something you were already planning? I've gots to know.)
Not a facehugger, or chestbuster, but definitely influenced by Alien/Giger, along those lines.

The med facility with the horror vibe was always planned, in as much as I actually plan anything.

I meant the Squamatan Death Troopers.

Oh! Except for the Commander, those accompanying you were always Squamatans, with the rest of the actual fire team topside on the zeta-class shuttle. The Commander was always the tall blonde woman mentioned in the casino, though she did not come into play at the time.
How tall is the commander? is she taller than Drogos?
So do you guys as players, want to play it out, probe deeper into the facility, or just resolve the situation here in the operating room? @Shlambate @P-47 Thunderbolt
2 minutes ago, Shlambate said:How tall is the commander? is she taller than Drogos?
She is, though only by a few inches.

FEW INCHES!? That's one tall lady. And those legs .
I'm okay with what the others want to do, but Hale isn't going to be able to do much given his injury and the narrative limitations that imposes so my self-interested answer is to end this relatively soon. Maybe seal it off and come back later with more appropriate arms? (yes, I mean it both ways)

I'm still the scary one.
I am fine with it either way, the inquisitor isn't much disturbed by anything in here, but the atmosphere is helpful for his powers in the force.

She would be in the 6'3" - 6'5" range she is definitely tall.
About 6’3”
Think Gwendolyn Christie as Captain Phasma.

Huh. I never realized she was that tall. Must have been the armor, I guess.

Except she doesn't suck at her job, or is in chrome
Knowledge (xenology) - wtf is that?
:
1eP+3eA+1eB+4eD
1 success, 3 threat, 1 Triumph
Guess it's not that bad.
So I know what is this and maybe with the Triumph I remember some spacer mumbling about creatures like this (like a crazy captain with a story about monsters and treasures) and what to do with them in my times on Ord Mantell?
Edited by RimsenOk, @Rimsen . Evon ran across or heard mention of these specific creatures here at Watercrest, probably from Dr Vos herself while in the clinic for the eye surgery, but possibly from something Briar found in her files. They are a type of arthropod which resemble crustaceans in their outward appearance, but their feeding habits and metabolism are more like those found in parasitic arachnids such as ticks.
Evon would know and understand the unpronounceable scientific name, but they are commonly referred to as “collar crabs” or “cuirass crabs” for the propensity of larger specimens to encircle their prey, implanting themselves in one side of the torso, while extending long appendages around to the other side. They live in water, but are also known to hunt on land.
Evon would know that the hypostome structures on the creature are barbed, and just ripping the creature off would cause hemorrhaging.
The existence of this creature here, which has played an important part in Dr Vos’s research, caused Evon to think upon the subject. For the Triumph, he has the components with him to attempt to sedate the creature itself. It will be a Daunting Medicine check, which you may Upgrade once with the Triumph.
Rather than requiring a separate attack check, I will be applying modifiers to the Med check. The creature is Adversary 1, and its chitinous outer shell provides Defense 1. I will also be flipping a Destiny Point to further Upgrade the Difficulty, and the commando patient is Engaged, so the base opposing dice pool will be vs 1eD+3eC+1eS.
Don't forget to Upgrade your dice once for the Triumph, and there is room for one assist (Boost die), from another PC (just assume someone helps you, and will narrate it at some point).
Lastly, with the horror theme here, the incessant screaming and chittering, I am going to have you take 3 Strain for the Threats.

In case you had not thought of this, Engaged friendlies (I guess in this case it would be "other target you don't want to kill") only upgrade Ranged attacks. Melee attack do not suffer the penalty.
I find it thematic in this case. I don't mind
Sedating the "Collar crab"
:
3eP+1eA+2eB+3eC+1eD+1eS
2 successes, 4 threat, 1 Triumph
I sense a pattern here
1 boost for an assist and another for my medkit. Added the upgrade from triumph.
I'm gonna think out soem post later for IC.
Hale would assist (holding the patient down, whatever else brawny is needed), but can't because of his arm.
Nice! The 4 Threat will cause 1 additional Strain, and mean the onset time is delayed, and the creature is not immediately sedated. Think on what you want with the Triumph. @Rimsen

i might found a way to relieve the patient's pain? Sedating him for good?
Edited by Rimsen27 minutes ago, Rimsen said:i might found a way to relieve the patent's pain? Sedating im for good?
Sedation or pain relief for the victim is well within Evon’s normal skill set, without a Triumph; but it would ordinarily require a separate action, and likely a separate application (different cocktail of meds). What exactly are you going for, here?
My goal here in the end to obtain that creature for analysis later. For now, I just wanted to help the man on the table
Edit: I mean you said the check was to sedate the creature. Now is it removeable? How does that affect the sodlier?
I replied in IC. Took the operation as it was a failure, by not seeing results. Reported, so we can go on with the scene without knowing it was in fact successful.
Edit: I encourage someone take back the spotlight, don't want to steer the story away from everyone
Edited by Rimsen@Edgehawk , what would be the difficulty for Hale to fire at the creature? Is there any initiative order here, or just act in whatever order?

Go for it! No particular order. The npc doctor and astromech are busy with the patient.
