@Rabobankrider @Imperial Stormtrooper @Shlambate @P-47 Thunderbolt @bsmith23 @Rimsen @Barbaross41 @Von3679 May the Fourth of July be with you! 15 xp everybody, just because it’s been a spell.

Picked up Suppressing Fire rank 1 from B4 on the Vanguard tree for 10 XP (saving the other 5 XP). This talent is relevant to everyone because it is a passive talent that always applies to allies in Short range:

The character and each ally within short range may spend 1 Advantage on their failed combat checks to inflict one strain on the target per rank of Suppressing Fire. Each character can only activate this effect once per round.

Edited by P-47 Thunderbolt

@Edgehawk if it is two maneuvers he can use the strain to get there now? Or is it two maneuvers on top of the check?

The Athletics check in this case was in lieu of Maneuvers, with the 2 Failures leaving Drogos 2 Maneuvers Short of his goal (without the check, it would have taken more than two maneuvers to achieve anyway).

Ok so then he can get there next turn.

Nice! Yes, Evon makes it inside just in time, and can knock the sniper prone. For the Threats, the sniper has already punched in the code and the doors will be closing just as Drogos @Shlambate is within sight. The lift will be starting its descent when the Inquisitor arrives next turn.

The wording above allows for the possibility of Drogos intervening in some way. Edit: yes, next turn.

  • Briar 5s, 1a, 1t
  • Hale 5s
  • Crispin 4s, 1a, 1t (Adversary 2, Defense 1),
  • Fleeing Assassin 3s, 1a (Adversary 1)
  • Gunman (down, bleeding)
  • Tactical watercraft 3s (Armor 1)
  • Boat crew x5 (Adversary 1, Defense 1)
  • Zyi in ejected pod 2s, 2a (Slicer, Adversary 2)
  • Den 2s, 1a
  • Banshee Squad (securing prisoners)
  • Drogos 2s , 1 th, 1 tr
  • Veitra 1s, 5a
  • Ral 1s, 3a
  • Evon 1s, 3a
  • Hawk

Unless I am mistaken, we are down to Hawk @Barbaross41 to finish up the current round, then to the top of the next, with Briar @Imperial Stormtrooper and Hale @P-47 Thunderbolt.

@Barbaross41 Now’s your time to shine, unless you want to finish off lady pinky @Von3679 (Sorry, not funny). Crispin, the renegade operative, has brazenly stepped into the open stern of the boat, at Extreme range. Hawk is up!

@Edgehawk, What difficulty?

Base difficulty would be 2eD+2eC, unmodified for Hawk’s talents. Hale and Veitra are at Short range, quite close, but not Engaged as yet.

For Crispin?

Yes

Hale and Veitra will never be engaged. And I'm not sure how you can even say they're close. They don't even like each other. :D

How?

Snipe: 2eD+2eC+4eP+1eA+3eB 0 successes, 4 advantage

If you commit XP to the Natural Marksman talent, you may re-roll. Also, I just gave out 15xp a few days ago.

Can I disarm him?

I only have 15 XP, and Natural Marksman costs 25

I know. Just spend the 15xp, and commit your next 10xp to the talent, and consider it yours. Your “Available XP” will be -10 until you can pay it back. I have made the same offer to other players.

Just now, Edgehawk said:

Unless you would prefer to keep your roll, and use Advantage to disarm?

Reroll:

Snipe: 2eD+2eC+4eP+1eA+3eB 2 successes, 3 advantage
d-th-th.pngd-th.pngc-f.pngc-f-f.pngp-s.pngp-s.pngp-s-s.pngp-s-a.pnga-a.pngb-a-a.pngb--.pngb-a-a.png

Much better!

How far is it back to the resort now?

Nice shot! The target is down.
edit: @Barbaross41 go ahead and edit your shot into the IC. Crispin goes down, and you have 3 Advantage to spend.

It will take 2 Maneuvers (Medium range through the Difficult terrain of shallow water and sand). Civilians have been cleared of the halls and lifts in this section of the resort, by now, so Briar could get to the Balcony the following turn, or reach the elevator or landing pad on the next.

Resort entrance = 2 Maneuvers (this turn)

Balcony = next turn

Elevator down or up to landing pad = an additional turn

If Briar is feeling Undaunted by her Athletic prowess, she could potentially cover this ground more quickly.

@Edgehawk, are the others still on the boat exhibiting hostile intent?

I'm also not entirely sure what aborting the mission would mean at this point, are we supposed to just dive off the boat and let them go, or what?

Yes.

Yes, “dive off the boat and let them go” would be an appropriate response to an “abort and stand down” directive.

What's Hale's range to Veitra? I'm thinking Maneuver to engage, Action to take us both overboard.

That’s fine. Opposed Brawl if Veitra @Von3679 is actively opposing your efforts. Otherwise just narrate it.

I'll go ahead and roll opposed Brawl because it's only Average anyway.

If it fails, then it's up to @Von3679 if Veitra resists or not (and so whether she goes overboard or not).

I'm taking you with me!: 2eP+2eA+2eD 4 successes, 1 threat
p-s-s.pngp-s-s.pnga-a.pnga-s.pngd-f-th.pngd-th.png

That'll work.

For the Threat, we both take a Strain?

When Crispin goes down, those task force members on the scene hear a familiar voice over comms. It is Colonel Yularen himself!

”Mission Override Aurek-77-Cherek. Abort. Abort. Abort. Primary mission accomplished. Stand down. Abort. Abort. Abort. Debriefing to follow.”

Hale, Hawk, Briar, Ral and Veitra have been conditioned to follow orders, including abrupt changes to those orders, but could this be a ruse? The code is correct, and the voice sounds genuine.

Drogos doesn't play by the rules
