Hey, Tom Cruise. Thanks for all your work on this. Please keep it going. I am just posting to say thanks and offer encouragement and props. Would love to see full Deathwatch and RT done.

Way to go mate!

I definitely second that statement! This thread is my most watched and anticipated for new nuggets and the discussion about new possible content. It's great stuff!!! :)

Howdy all. Is anyone playing this online and would perhaps have room for an extra adeptus?

PURGE THE UNCLEAN!

thx.

Loved this; been working on a Guardsman only campaign for my group, using this as a base/foundation with a spit balled bunch of rules I feel either improve fidelity with DH/DH2E, fix something I disliked about the base system of Genesys (like blasts; they're beyond ****** up; you could have a pile of c-4 or a thermonuclear missile and it would only have a blast radius of Engaged barring explicit, case by case rules, nevermind having to trigger hits for each person in the area), or that I felt improved it. This is a work in progress, and all of these changes are subject to playtesting and tweaking; that said, hopefully someone else will find them of value, on either a piecemeal basis or otherwise, or as a springboard for their own modifications/tweaks:

Hey Tom Cruise. Sure you've been busy but wanted to make sure I thanked you on behalf of my group! We've run several sessions using your current content and are having a great time! Thank you so much for the effort and work you've put into this thus far!

Nice work adding to this world.

I want to run some short adventures at my local club. Running one-shots for newcomers on Genesys in kinda tough, so I made some cards (you have to cut them where the line is) with each home world and career. Players start with 5exp less, but may choose one from the two possible talents at character creation (one given by the home world, one by the career). The rest of the exp they spend on stats and skills. This should make character creation much easier and faster.

I did not copy the whole talent descriptions, as it wouldn't help the new players in any way, since they have no idea what all these dice colors and symbols mean.

Nice work, seems like a good way to simplify things for new players.

I noticed the transparency on the career images is a little broken. Here's the source PNGs if you want them with intact transparency, extracting them from the PDF can have mixed results.

Hey Tom Cruise wanted to say thanks for all the hard work and hope you keep it up man. I'm running a game using your rules and I must say its running very smoothly.

This may have been answered already - forgive me if that's the case - but is there any way for me to get my hands on an editable version of this? I have made house rules for Tau PC creation based on the updated aptitude system and I would love something this smooth looking to type it up on. All credit would be given to the creator of course. This would just be for me as GM.

I could probably throw together an editable template version, although it'd require some InDesign knowledge.

I'd also need to figure out how to make InDesign documents portable, considering that as is the books are very reliant on my local file structure, which might make everything break horribly if opened on a separate PC.

Indesign allows for the consolidation of files and images. Under File -> Package, your file and images are copied in to a single folder. Include your "Document Fonts" folder (you're using that right?) and zip the whole thing. Portable. If your not familiar with the "Documents Fonts" (its somewhat of a hidden feature), place the folder in the same directory as your Indesign document and place your document fonts inside. It gives indesign access to the fonts without having to install them in your operating systems font folder (ie c:\windows\fonts\)

Hey Tom Cruise, really digging all the work that's gone into this conversion!

I just noticed on page 6, under Step 1 - Home World, it says that " the second step of character creation is to select your Home World ". Shouldn't this be the first step, or am I missing something?

Also, I think you should really consider merging the core and the expansion together. I don't really see any reason why you would spread things like Home World choices across two documents. That said, awesome work nonetheless!

Edit: I also note that, in the chapter Skills, it says " Your character not should use this skill if… ". I think this should be: Your character should not use this skill if… (switching not and should)?

Yeah, I've been strongly considering merging the core and the expansion. Probably for a big 2.0 release with some rules improvements, it's likely gonna be a big job if I do it. The Liber Heresius content feels less like expansion material and more like core material, and I'd like to have the Influence and Subtlety systems baked into the core book so it's no an awkward mess referencing them in future expansions.

Thanks for the typo corrections, I'll get that fixed up in the next release.

That would be great! Also, what's your stance on implementing critical wounds tables in a similar way as they did for DH 2e? Basically the crit table from genesys, but flavored depending on the damage type (Energy, Rending, etc )?

This is so good. Thank you. :)

Really a good job. Great work.

I'm working (very slowly) in a addon for RT. New characters, a few skills etc.. It would be hard to do al the spaceship.

Probably I'll change the breach 2 quality in the power weapons ( maybe not in the power fist or the maul). I think is not fair to cancel a terminator armor soak just with a power sword.

Want to run Lure of the Expanse.

I am personally looking forward for a run at Battlefleet Koronus, there are not nearly enough Rogue Trader esque ship rules in Genesys or even in most of the Star Wars FFG books to translate over. I want something to the scale of the old Starships of the Galaxy from Star Wars D20, or some of the ship books of the West End Games Star Wars RPG, but I can settle for a conversion of that book as it even has rules for planetary interaction, and army, navy and air force scaling for mass combat.

Been looking over the talents in the pdf today. I noticed that Wrath of the Righteous is missing from the Tier 3 table on page 26. Also, in the Liber Heresius, Second Wind is listed as a new talent, although it's already in the core document (see Tier 1 table on page 22). Thought you might want to know. :)

Edit: We're in the middle of converting our characters from DH2e to this ruleset. I'm noticing, however, that the Brawl skill is missing? When looking at the document, I was maybe thinking you added that to Melee (Light), since it's stated on page 18 that you made some changes to that skill. I can't find the changes in the document, though.

Hey, @Tom Cruise , huge fan of this and I think this is absolutely marvelous work, professional quality even. I noticed that you at one point started a Space Marines expansion - have you progressed any further on that, or?

I've definitely considered it. I think it's easy enough to narrate your way around the different damage types, but it wouldn't hurt to have some separate tables ready to go. Something to consider for the eventual second edition.

Haven't really made much more progress since the last time I posted a PDF sample. It's definitely something I want to get done, just haven't been super motivated lately (settling into yet another new job, getting obsessed with Monster Hunter, bad combo as far as productivity is concerned).

On a related note, Wrath and Glory is out now! Been leafing through it a little, interested to see what ideas I can steal and bring over. It seems like a solid game, but I probably still prefer Genesys.

Wrath and Glory looks solid, though I will stick to Genesys personally. I really dig the Wrath/Glory/Ruin mechanic, though, and will be reworking Story Points to be split into those three.

Also, the Tier/Rank/Framework system and explanations are really great for those who don't understand power levels in Genesys and just think that adding +300XP to a Ganger suddenly makes him on par with a Space Marine, which, to be fair, is an easy mistake to make.

I was stoked for W&G, but then for some reason I lost interest the closer we came to release. I might give it a try, but for now our group has made the transition for DH2e to this Genesys conversion. :)

W&G looks interesting, but I am still very much a fan of converting more over to Genesys, given how much Warhammer 40k benefits from a Narrative Dice structure versus the hard pass fail dark heresy structure it was going with originally.
