Star Wars: Revan's War OOC

By Rabobankrider, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

So I'm going to give it until some time tomorrow, before posting, just to play it safe. If you would be so kind as to just give me heads up if/when any open conversations have resolved, that would be appreciated.

Sorry I wasn't on the past little bit. School is hitting me hard right now. Got 2 midterms this week and have 2 essays to work on. I'll probably be on about once a day though not for very long.

Svae will probably be spending his time scouring the ship's records about animals, ecosystems, and the force, chilling with Gwode (his Loth-cat), and meditating/practicing using the force. I think he would probably do all of those fairly simultaneously and not dedicate one week at a time to each.

My apologies, but I'm going to have to leave this game. I don't like playing in games where another player chooses to have his character use violence and bullying against another character. I was willing to roll with it for a couple of posts but it is now clear to me that it has gone far beyond that and thus I'll choose to bow out at this time. It is also clear to me that my ideas of acceptable behaviour of a Jedi Padawan differs greatly from at least one player, enough to be immersion-breaking for me.

I wish the rest of you fun in the game and leave it to the GM to resolve the situation.

It's a shame, but I thank you for what you have done up to this moment. Gunda was fun to interact with.

@Shlambate , sure, I'd say an average check that will provide some temporary boosts to ship systems etc depending on what you're working on.

@satkaz , for your triumph perhaps your next roll or so you get a boost for coming across as a good leader? The disadvantage perhaps the guys resent being bossed around, so mild annoyance may linger for a turn or two. Both parties would see sense though in your words so that's a plus.

Unfortunately @Kymrel has to leave us, but he has very kindly handed Gunda over to me for now, and I will play the character to a suitably epic close on Foerost. On the plus side he's still a member of Cyclone Squad!

This is probably a good point for a general reminder for everyone that you are Jedi, and have spent years learning control over emotions, aim to help others etc. Even if you're planning to turn to the darkside later on, you probably want it to be a gradual fall considering you'll be surrounded by a bunch of similarly powerful lightsiders.

Alright, I'll be fine with that.

Alright this is for the third week. Looks like he doesn't boost the HyperDrive but he doesn't break it. I'l give a Boost to someone if they want to be in the engine room with Zoroku while this check would be going on.

When we get to the Second I'll post up the practice duel Gunda and Zoroku had.

Finish up any conversations you have now guys cause when @KungFuFerret drops the Conversation between Gaze and Zoroku it will likely take half the page.

Ugh, Gunda was my favorite build in the party and thought you contributed a lot to the narrative. Oh and...

Oh, @Rabobankrider , what's the result of Muu's rolls combined with Walden's help?

I added the only success with the Warfare check, and added the blank dice with the Core Worlds check.

Also, if anyone wants to spar in a non-lethal match, I'm still up. Just send me a PM and I'll set up a Google Doc.

I would @satkaz if Zoroku hadn't already challenged Gunda.

That's fine. If I don't get anyone to spar, I'll just have Walden practice some katas...or maybe if there's training droids, train in blast deflection stuff.

I'll spar and here's destiny

Kataddik isn't bullying Gunda, he's demanding that Gunda take responsibility and make an apology for his actions.

If I'm honest, grabbing a peer by the throat to demand an apology is at best bullying, especially from what is essentially galactic law enforcing magician who's ethos is focused around peace and moral superiority. However, I do not want a debate on this clogging up this thread. Having said that, everyone please consider actions etc towards other players. I know some things will be 'roleplaying' or 'in character' but if it begins to sour the experience for others, it's not worth it. I would like this to be the last time I have to comment on something like this as well, I don't like ooc conflict.

I agree, hence my congratulating Kymrel on his role-playing yesterday. One correction, though, is Katiddik picked him up by the scruff of his neck, like you would with a cat, not by his throat.

@Vergence , I'd say an average knowledge (education) or survival check for his info search.

Now is a good time to put in your first week posts as everyone seems to know what they want to do with it. I have a strong feeling I'm forgetting to give someone information for an knowledge check, so whoever that is, please remind me.

That would be Zoroku in the Archive, @KungFuFerret put up Our week one post.

It's a knowledge warfare check to see what he can find about the Capital ships so he can improve them.

That would be @Vergence and Muu with Walden's help. Warfare check came in at 1 success, 1 threat while the Core World check came in at 2 success, 2 threat.

Looks like nada on researching security other than maybe simple knowledge. I guess the threat will symbolize spending a entire week on the subject without results?

Average Knowledge Core Foerost History : 2eA+2eD 2 successes, 2 threat

Do you want to spend the threat or treat it was Muu spent 2 weeks researching? Thus, using up all his time researching (Knowledge Checks) for the 3 weeks.

Hard Warfare = 1 Success, 1 Disadvantage (with Walden's assist).

Average Core World = 2 Sucess, 2 Disadvantage

@Rabobankrider I think the missing knowledge check was Walden & Muu. You were planning on writing something up today. The average survival or education to follow up on a subject or was that someone else?

Ok, let's sort out some knowledge:

@Shlambate , I'll start with your advantage:

You know that although the ships are comparatively rare, the Centurion-class Battlecruiser is the most effective ship in the Republic navy. If you want to try improving capital class ships, these may well make good templates.

You would also know that the Interdictor-class cruisers are usually considered expendable due to them being generally unreliable. There's only a few of these that are considered to be any good.

For your success I'd say that you are able to provide any ships you consult on with the superior quality for 1 turn (that you guys are present for).

@Vergence and @satkaz , here is your knowledge results:

For the warfare check, you know that the shipyards keeps a large fleet of fighter craft since the Mandalorian wars as immediate response units to attacks. There is also an extensive battery of heavy cannons for dealing with capital ships, combined with smaller turrets for lighter craft. Other than that, they tend to rely on their proximity to the core and Corouscant as a deterrent for attacks. For your disadvantage, I'm going to say you aren't aware of any sensor arrays to detect incoming attackers, other than short range scanners used primarily for tracking combat.

For the core world check you know that the Mandalorians made a daring raid on the planet of Foerost, and that it was considered a resounding success on their part. They devastated the defense forces ad took the Republic by surprise, escaping before reinforcements could be sent. For the disadvantage, I'd like to say you struggle to find out what the raid was meant to achieve outside of violence for the sake of violence. Both these disadvantages will be relevant to the mission later on. :)

Alright, cool. Careful with the repeats, though.

Aw nuts, I'll sort that

That's some good info for an advantage, so How does giving a ship Superior work?

What is unreliable about the intredictor?
