Star Wars: Revan's War OOC

@Rabobankrider

Armatta will look for a Mechanics-related means of entry, or possibly a Computers-related one.

@Rabobankrider Silun is going to look around the exterior of the hanger and see if he can find an alternate route in, perhaps an open window, an air vent, or something similar. He'll look both at ground level and up higher.

@Edgehawk and @Bellona, either a hard skulduggery or computers with a setback will open the lock.

@Mikeyfett7, an easy perception should find something.

Perception check: 1eD+1eA+1eP 0 successes, 1 advantage

A pretty boring roll, which isn't surprising with my low base cunning. If someone could give assistance to potentially get at least one success that would help a lot.

Anyone not doing anything can provide a boost.

It might be better if Zoroku Roll his Perception is good

Yeah, that might be a good idea.

@Shlambate, if you want to do the same check @Mikeyfett7 could add a boost with his advantage

@Shlambate, you see a vent set in the wall near by the doorway. If you can navigate them you could probably find a way into the hanger. It may take some time though as you'd have to crawl. With the advantage you can take a boost to any navigation check you make.

What can be used to Navigate it?

Survival seems to be the usual check for that kind of stuff, but mechanics or even education would be applicable here to understand the layout of the vents. You can also pass the boost to someone else navigating if you wish.

@Rabobankrider Unless Knowledge Warfare can be used all my checks are 3eA Does anyone have any better?

@Rabobankrider, I haven't asked before, but now it seems applicable. In the description for Sullustans in the Age of Rebellion rule book, it lists a number of natural advantages they have evolved with, such as superior vision in the dark and an innate sense of direction. Are these actual advantages that can be used in game, or are they just flavor text details that don't have real bearing on the game itself?

And @Shlambate if mechanics is applicable I would have slightly better at 2A 1P, although Armatta has significantly better than that I believe. Everything else would be less than that for me, unless those things I mentioned above have any bearing.

Yep, Armatta has YYY dice in Mechanics, plus possibly +2 Force dice and -1 Setback (as well as an automatic +1 Advantage in those cases when she can use her own tool kit).

Computers, on the other hand, is just YGG (and an automatic +1 Advantage when slicing due to her gear).

@Rabobankrider :

I guess that Armatta will take a stab at using Computers on the lock ... but I'm not holding my breath on it working.

Computers vs. hangar door, w. slicer gear (+1 Adv.): 1eP+2eA+3eD+1eS 2 failures, 4 advantage
p-s-a.pnga-s-a.pnga-a-a.pngd-f.pngd-f.pngd-f.pngs-f.png

Final result (with +1 Advantage from her slicing gear): 2 Failures, 5 Advantages.

So no joy there, unless I can do something interesting with the 5 Advantages.

Maybe Armatta can try again, this time using one of the group's dataspikes to reduce the difficulty from Hard to Simple?

@Mikeyfett7, unfortunately unless it is listed as a mechanical boost during creation, it would only be narrative in terms of the differences it would make.

@Bellona, with the advantage you could certainly try again with a spike without alerting anyone to your previous attempt.

For anyone trying to manoeuvre through the vents it'll be an average athletics to prise open the vent, and an average survival/education/mechanics check with 1 setback to navigate them.

Zoroku can pull open the vent with 1eP+3eA

@Bellona Want to use that mechanics to navigate a vent?

Krios can access and maneuver in the vents. Navigation is questionable. We could have teams of 2 or so go through?

That's all right, I just wanted to know one way or the other, thanks for answering that for me.

Armatta will try to navigate the vents once Zoroku has opened up the access. (She'll save the dataspike-assisted attempt to open the doors until she's inside, if necessary. We might want those spikes later.)

Armatta navigating the vents, using Gearhead 1 talent to remove the Setback and a Manipulate power control upgrade to add +2 Force dice (the Force is with her!) ...

Navigating the vents w. Mechanics skill, Gearhead 1, and Manipulate power: 3eP+2eF+2eD 4 successes, 2 threat, 4 Light Side
p-s.pngp-s-s.pngp-s.pngf-ls-ls.pngf-ls-ls.pngd-th.pngd-th.png

Final Results (using 4 LS pips to add +4 Advantages): 4 Successes, 2 Advantages.

I think that that qualifies as a success! :D

And probably accomplished rather quickly.

Armatta is possibly already familiar with a similar layout that she once navigated while helping her Watchman master with his mission on a space station somewhere ...

@Rabobankrider : Do you want me to post IC, or would you prefer to do so yourself with regard to anything about the 2 Advantages?

ETA: I just made an IC post, but ended it as Armatta was trying to get the grating opened.

Edited by Bellona

@Bellona, with that you are able to follow the vent through the walls, and it leads out to the hanger. The vent is near the door but you can also see a few engineers and guards inside the hanger through the grate. You can use the advantage for a boost on a stealth check if you want to get to the door to open it, or a boost for stealth in general.

A Boost on a Stealth check to open the hangar door from the inside would be my choice.

Before that happens, does Zoroku need to assist Armatta in getting the grating open on the hangar side of the ventilation tunnel, or can she manage it quietly by herself?

From the inside it should be easy enough to do yourself, an average stealth with a boost and setback will do the trick.
