Star Wars: Revan's War OOC

Yes please that would be greatly appreciated also Zoroku would likely want to lead since he is Chiss and War is their thing
Wow you guys type fast.
Hey, @Rabobankrider , when should I try my second attempt at lightsaber construction?

Just realized I missed the post where the droid instructor was helping us. That makes a big difference! Sorry, I've been swamped these last few days and I got lost in all the posts. Will get a roll up shortly.
QuoteYou may all make a hard perception check to find a lightsaber attachment (not a crystal) valued at a maximum of 1,000 credits. If you wish to attach this it has to be done with the regular modification rules.
Please correct me if I am wrong, using the regular modification rules for the lightsaber attachment, would it be a hard check (3 difficulty) to install a lightsaber attachment? Also - the success of an attachment only covers Base Modifiers not Modification Options and would it go up in difficultly to add a Modification Option or remain the same difficulty as the initial attachment?

To install an attachment? No. There is no check necessary to simply install it, only to modify it. The point of his post is that any mods you make to said attachment, must follow the standard mod rules, no free mod.
Edited by Tramp GraphicsSo its an auto base modifier for the hilt attachment but a hard check for the Modification Options within the attachment?

Yep, though, if it's your personally built lightsaber, the checks do still get the 2 level reduction in difficulty provided by RAW.
@Rabobankrider , Well, I blew that one.
Perception Check
:
2eA+3eD
2 failures, 2 threat

I believe that's the case. However, I believe if you're making modification options to any attachment that is within your lightsaber, the difficulty gets reduced by 2.
I can see where the confusion is on @Rabobankrider 's post, since it seems to say we need to follow modification rules just to attach an item to said lightsaber when the modifications rules only work when you're modding the attachment itself.
Edited by satkazYeah, the attachments themselves are meant to be "plug and play", the modifications are sort of like cracking the device, or overclocking it to get more out of it. And that stuff, takes a roll to accomplish.

Sweet! Thank you. Just read F&DC:
"To install a mod, the user selects an uninstalled modification option from the attachment's available list. The character spends 100 credits on components and supplies, makes sure he has a tool kit, spends a couple of hours at a workbench, and makes a hard mechanics check . "
Hard Perception to find the supplies/components. Huyang proves the appropriate tools and workbench. Hard mechanics check for modification options, downgrade 2x because I built my own lightsaber which equal an average mechanics check with Huyang's assistance.
Curved Hilt Attachment Mod (Defensive quality): Huyang assisting + DP Flip, Average Mechanics
:
3eP+1eB+2eD
2 successes, 1 advantage
Curved Hilt attachment gains defensive quality mod option with DP and Huyang's help.
(btw I used the 15 XP to upgrade the Manipulate power, grabbing the two left-hand upgrades)
Crafting a Lightsaber (with help! And Manipulate upgrade)
:
4eP+1eB+2eD+1eF
3 successes, 4 advantage, 1 Dark Side
Building the lightsaber with Huyang's help is great! I'm working on the advantage, be back soon.
I wish Zoroku got advantage... at least he succeeded.
My second try at building a lightsaber, this time with Hyuang's help:
Lightsaber craft Check 2
:
2eP+1eB+2eD
3 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph
Well, the most you can do with an advantage, as per Rabo's post, is aesthetic, so I don't mind not rolling any
Curved Hilt crossguard gist concept. Dual splitter with one blade 45 degrees with the downward curve and the other 90 degrees. Reading about forked crossguards inspired the idea

Oh. So I'd be helping him?
@Tramp Graphics , no, he'd be helping you.

Not quite what I meant.

I guess Zoroku would make a Rather simple blade anyway.

Another Crossguard!! I was gonna get the extended hilt and go for the great sword feel but it's 3,500 for the attachment...
I simply meant that
both
his Intellect
and
Mechanics skill blows Katiddik's out of the water, so, by RAW, I would be giving him the Boost die instead of the other way around.

Huh, thought on assisted checks, if someone was better skilled than you, you use one person's characteristic and the other person's skill.
