- Do an average mechanics or knowledge (lore) check for the hilt.
- Success represents the construction of a basic hilt (or because I like a bit of variety, any type of hilt)
- Additional successes reduces the time taken by 4 hours (to a minimum of 4).
- Failure in this case does not mean complete failure, but when you write up your post it does mean you had to start again because you buggered up.
- As the cost of materials is not an issue, advantage can result in modifications that do not effect mechanics, but can improve appearance and so forth (so purely cosmetic changes).
- Triumph gives adds 1 hard point to the lightsaber.
- Threat adds 12 hours to the build each, but 3 threat adds 1 encumbrance as it ended up bulkier than planned.
- Despair decreases hard points by 1.
- You may also add 1 mod to the crystal you guys received (which is the Ilum crystal) with an automatic success.
- Due to the workshop on the ship, you all count as having the 'tools for the right job' talent.
- You may all make a hard perception check to find a lightsaber attachment (not a crystal) valued at a maximum of 1,000 credits. If you wish to attach this it has to be done with the regular modification rules.
As @satkaz correctly pointed out, you guys will get a chance to meet Huyang. For this meeting, you can use his stats to assist in the building of the lightsaber as a standard assist check. He has an intellect of 5, and 4 ranks in mechanics.
If you could all do this before reaching knight level as well (or using your previous stats), as this is when you would be making your lightsabers.
Hope that clears it all up!
For those of us making lightsabers, do you want us to start writing on the IC thread, then?
