Are we taking damage as Wounds or Strain in this exercise?
Star Wars Clone Wars: Cyclone Squad OOC

I think there are only two groups left.
I thought we were also doing strain damage, and I remember Gundark having 5 strain at least, so that's why I assumed people were out.

So @Kymrel how likely is it that Anler can wipe a group of 5 and the same for a group of 10?

Strain.

Clipper aka Jackpot got shot and so did Gunslinger aka Raker aka "Traitor".
Traitor , now, is it..?
Perhaps the problem with melee vs. shooting could be alleviated somewhat by using floating initiative. That way we could have the shooters go first before the melee guys engage. But, as things stand, unless I want to be totally useless, I'll have to take my flashlight into melee.

If there is one group of 10 and one of 5, Anler will engage the group of 5. On average dice he should be able to drop a couple. And I suspect the rest of you will have your hands full dropping the group of 10.
Also, you need to start packing vibroknifes!

Probably you should take on the smaller group. Just a question of numbers, we have 2 melee and 7 ranged guys so we probably do more ranged than melee damage.
Edit: **** Kymrel is just as much faster in posting as Anler is in Initiative

In jest my friend but you did shoot gun dark in the back!

I vote for going fluid I would like to take the first slot if possible. Gets the biggest gun out there first.
Ok, I've read back over the books and I think that I was right the first time, because the ranks aren't capped at 4, so I will have to put those back in.
@Kymrel , if it helps the squads are also at short range from each other, so you can attack 1 while not being in the way of the others attacking.
Do we proceed with Combat or do we wait on @Stneu73 and @Matt Skywalker ?
I'd say give them a till tomorrow, that seems fair.

We could just flip a DP and say we have combat knives

That helps a lot with what we're encountering right now. I second that, especially with @Shlambate .
Edited by satkazOk, I put the changes to he rolls back in, they still only affect @Edgehawk and @SHADOWGUARD CHAMPION , once @Stneu73 has a chance to roll up, @Kymrel you're free to start things off. If it turns out the combat system here doesn't work, we will try floating initiative next combat scenario. All sounds good with you guys?
Sounds good.

But if the clones have 3 agility as a base like stormtroopers then the pool has one too many die. They only get four upgrades for five troopers.
Yes fluid initiative would be preferred or Slugger will never go first.

Those rolls are from 10 trooper squads.

Yes

I just find that in the pbp format, letting people post when they find the opportunity keeps things moving.

It does, as long as people actually do that. What sometimes happens is people start plotting overly much, trying to get the right person to take the right slot. As long as we agree that people who are around take slots, or wait a short while for a good reason (letting shooters go before melee, or vice versa if our shooters are engaged) if that is called for I think it would work out just fine. We just need to remember not to get too hung up on maximizing what we get from a round and concentrate on keeping the game flowing and have fun.

I would prefer that, and it already seems we have one plan for a setup:
If we are at distance, the shooters should go before the melee guys. If the melee guys are now in range, the melee guys should go before the shooters.
Ok, what we'll do is run this as we have it currently, and then the next 2 combat sets will use floating initiative, and the results can be compared.

Sounds good to me! Whose turn is it now?
