Star Wars Clone Wars: Cyclone Squad OOC

By Rabobankrider, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

Guess you guys won't be calling me Quickdraw .

Not going to be an easy fight guys :P

So, who was shooting, the group with 10 clones, or the group with 5 clones?

The amount of dice they were throwing is surprising.

Originally there were 3 squads of 10, but their numbers were halved.

So that's all 15 of them now?

Hmm, I thought it would be 4 yellow instead of 3 yellow, 2 green.

Assuming the clones have 3 Agility and if there's 5 shooting at each point in time...

All 3 of their green would be yellow, then the 4th clone adds a green. Wouldn't the 5th clone turn that 4th green die into a yellow instead?

I'm looking at pg. 28 of the Age of Rebellion Core Rulebook under "Upgrading More Dice than Available". It would be pg. 30 on the Force and Destiny Core Rulebook.

No it's 3 squads of ten shooting which gives them 5 ranks in Ranged Heavy and 3 Agility. After they shoot the vents collapse and take out one and a half squads. So now you have a 5 man squad that has 4 ranks in Ranged Heavy and 3 Agility for the future.

Ah ok, I calculated it by just typing the stats in sw sheets.

I think I got the ranks wrong, I'll re adjust

My point still applies if that's the case, since 3 of them would turn to yellow instantly. The 4th and 5th ranks would equal to another yellow anyway.

And once the group is down, it'd be 3 yellow, 1 green.

Also if it was 3 groups of 10...oh boy. We'd be looking at 6 yellow, 1 green for each shot.

I think Minions get skill ranks and not upgrades. So you would assemble the dice pool by using the higher 5 skill ranks as the baseline and then upgrade 3 for the agility.

I dont't think so. As the Minions get skill ranks those should be capped at 5 (the normal maximum someone can reach).

Ok, fixed the number of ranks for dice, and I'm using the stats currently present in the spoilers section because that's what SW sheets is saying it is, so that should be about right.

Just remember, minion groups get one skill rank in trained skills per member beyond the first. So a group of five minions with Agility 3 should be rolling 3 Proficiency dice and 1 Ability die.

I still think that your first rolls were correct. A minion group gets one skill rank in group skills for each minion after the first. So a 10 man group would theoretically get 9 Skill ranks but skill ranks are normally capped at 5. So those minions have an Agility of 3 and a Ranged Heavy of 5 which would be 3P2A.

A 5 man group then has Agility 3 Ranged Heavy 4 so 3P1A.

Hmm...I'm wrong due to my interpretation of the rules. I usually play it as upgrading the dice when I GM it rather than making the better of the 2 the ability dice and the worse as the proficiency die. I just got surprised at the amount of dice thrown, which in that case means two of us would be out of the exercise as well as part of Acklay.

I forgot that you have to count the total - 1 for skill ranks on minions...I just usually add the total amount of minions to skill proficiency when I do it. :P

And just to note: it's nice playing for a change, so I can see what I'm doing wrong as a GM rules-wise.

Ok, I'll put it back to what it was before, but I will be doing that later.

I think @Sterf is right, sorry, my mistake.

How far are they from Slugger? Cause he might have a chance to wipe them with a good Auto-fire check! So don't everyone get in Sluggers line of sight especially in melee please!

The new checks are correct.

There are three groups. Anler unfortunately rolled better than the clones and so will engage one of them. Feel free to hose the others.

That is fine just don't block all three groups if possible!

I don't think anybody would be out of the exercise, @Rabobankrider normally just gives the damage and you substract the soak yourself so everybody should be able to take a hit.

I think there are only two groups left.

Only 2 groups left now, and they all start at short range from your lot.

Unless they mob me I'll do my best!
