Remember all force users get one free no check required mod on their saber, he chose to go for reduced critical.

Yeah unless there is one more setback in there from somewhere else I think Slugger is down for the rest the encounter.

This is the problem with using strain rather than wounds. Well, one of two. Medicine checks can't restore wounds, and neither can stimpacks. Not that we have any. So getting a PC up to keep him in the game is a problem.
Incidentally, the second problem is that strain is a currency in combat, used to fuel talents and take extra maneuvers. By using strain rather than wounds we lose the use of that currency, or at least have to conserve it more than usual. I'm just glad I don't have reflect, since that would, in essence, be useless unless I had multiple ranks. With one ranks I could spend 3 strain to avoid taking 3 strain

We are not having too much luck mowing them down, that's for sure. And now that they have called for backup our plan is done for, unfortunately.
But if we think we're not having luck shooting the enemy, spare a thought for a friend who tried to shoot a bug that was about to eat another PC. Rolled just last night. I'll put it in spoilers so as not to confuse anyone who might think this roll is from our game. But really, I didn't think this was possible.
Yeah, for future combat sessions we'll use wounds and just treat them a s non-lethal shots or something.
@Sterf , if you wasn't you could spend that triumph to drag @Shlambate out of the firing line, save him from being shot in this specific case? As he's gone down because I made the mistake of using strain for this, I'd be ok with you saving him in a weakened state. Or you can use to to just slaughter what's left of te squad.
