Star Wars Clone Wars: Cyclone Squad OOC

But Anler has a Lightsaber I'm sure we will be fine! :)

Yeah... He has a lightsaber. Until he drops it and breaks it again -_-

I'm good with the plan, attacking from both sides is good. And we'll be in the same place, so it's not like we'll be split up that well.

Just gotta watch for cross-fire.

If it helps the lightsaber will only short out for about a round before coming back good as new. :) Also, it's worth noting that considering Drummers defences there may well be guards near the doorways to the command centre.

I assumed there would be guards, but nothing a squad of guys can't handle in a single round. Nobody places that many guards at a doorway that far behind enemy lines. I hope.

@Kymrel Would you like to Have Anler tell Zombie what is going on or would want a Clone to do that? Once that's done we can get us moving into the Vents ASAP so no reinforcements come.

He'll ask a clone to do that. I'll get an IC post up in an hour, max.

Lets get exploring the Vent system! @Rabobankrider do I need to make a check to see how quickly Slugger can move with his gun in the Air system?

@Rabobankrider I'm slightly confused by the shortcut. Am I correct in assuming that the shortcut would get us there faster, but there would be some sort of a check? And if we flub that, it would take longer?

I remember making that check during the briefing, and that's what I thought @Rabobankrider had when he gave the results.

I recall something similar. It would be a good to know the approximate difficulty of the check before we make the call.

Ah, hadn't spotted that, sorry. Ok, you can lead the way as well, but for your advantages: The first is you notice small indentation in the ventilation system that not the vents. These are service hatchways, used by maintenance. These have small control panels that are used for controlling the fans so they can pass through safely. For your second I'll say you spot a slight shortcut, but it is a trickier route.

Found it.

I believe it was computers so Data would be the one doing the Check! Hopefully it isn't impossible.

@Shlambate , I hadn't considered that. Let's say average coordination check. Failure would mean you get stuck temporarily, but you can take an assist from Acklay squad behind as they push you along. They use the same stats as imperial army troopers if you have those to hand. If not I'll dig them up for you.

@Kymrel , the concept of the shortcut is it's one of these 'shorter but riskier' type deals. It will require a significant amount of checks, but if they are successful you will shave a lot of time off your journey by going in essentially a straight line, rather than avoiding the greatest concentration of fans.

@satkaz , you did indeed come up with the cunning plan! :D

@Shlambate , it can be a computers check to activate the controls to the fans, but you could also get away with a mechanics check to hard wire them.

Well, what do you guys say? I'd say it would be worth taking the shortcut, especially since the ground assault's starting to falter. We may not be able to take our time anymore.

I also tend to the shortcut as long as those computers checks are relatively easy.

@Rabobankrider Computers or Mechanics doesn't really matter as we don't have any skill ranks so far. It's just intellect for any of us.

Valid point, I hadn't considered that :P After the battle there will be a quick third section, and then you guys will have some xp points to play with.

Coordination : 1eP+3eA+1eB+2eD 2 successes, 1 advantage

He gets through and heals a strain

Lovely stuff. :)

The GM is playing us. Has he done anything with the despair yet

I think we are actually under the normal abilities of a brand new pc as we only have 2 skill ranks (from spec) opposed to the normal 6 (unless you're playing FaD then it's 5 and FR)

Really looking forward to the xp cause it's all going towards brawl :D

It's very hard to make a call since it could all be Easy checks or it could all be Formidable checks, but the gut says go with the shortcut. Rolling dice is fun, right? Although, slightly less fun when we hardly have any skills at all, as has already been mentioned ;)

There is no glory in the easy path! I say we roll.

Agreed!

We are not ready for this. Assaulting a superior, entrenched force.. that is anticipating us. I hope this exercise is just to test our mettle, and the war has not become so desperate that they would use resources like this in an actual scenario...

I see I'm not the only one who thinks this might be the case. It seems the scenario is set up for a loss. Assaulting positions defended by an equal number of troops with no explosives, let alone artillery or air support is a textbook example of a bad idea. But that makes it even sweeter if we manage to pull off a win.

Remember, if we get the enemy commander out of the game, they will have much, much worse dice pool for the mass combat. Of course, it will be a hollow victory if we do this and all "die" in the process...

Alright, I'm guessing we're waiting on @Rabobankrider 's response at this point?
