I stand by my statement that poe ends up being a liability if the average a-wing count increases.

You are absolutely correct. The best Resistance squad IMO is either 5A or 4A + Jess.

Speaking of Poe, A-Wings, and Scum, Firespray Frost seems pretty ok right about now.

A lot of things I wouldn't have thought started looking better.

Scum Han, scum falcon title, etc.

Thing is, we don't know the correct target priority, which is why we like the list so much 😛

Yeah on the Saturday matchup I had a couple range 1 (unmodded) shots on Vader who was sitting on a focus and a full stack of force charges. I had three shots on countdown. 2 were at range 2 and one was range 3 I think. Countdown had no focus. Countdown was a pain in my *** (or more like broadside) on Friday so I didn't want him lingering. I could block Vader, but countdown was harder to catch. So yeah...decisions....2 v 2 (x 2) and a 2 v 3 on tokenless Countdown or take my shot and swing for the dark lord? Uhg. I went for what seemed like the softer target (countdown) and only put two damage into him. Hindsight....Vader is ultimately the endgame and if he lives, that list likely wins. So just pump dice into vader unless he's at range three and fully tokened.

f the boost is resolved in the default way, it is still resolved and the charge is still spent.

I'd thought the latest consensus is that it spent the charge. You've still performed a boost, you've just executed it in a different way, by staying still instead of moving.

Nothing you quoted contradicts that an action can either be performed or failed. The default resolution isn't performing the action. It is what happens when the action is failed. As for "abusing" Composure... Possible, but don't be stressed when you attempt it.

Oh we ended up rolling for it. I was quite sure but not enough to insist. Anyway, that list @Oldpara mentioned, with Wedge and Luke? I just lost 83-74 against it because he is really good and regenning 3 shields on Luke is more than I can punch in. Did 4 damage on him, he ended at 4h1s ^^. Plus I really messed up: I thought I'm ahead because his Luke is 110pt and I had >110 points on the board. But of course there is also that ridiculously high bid!

Also, thanks again for helping me cover my failing at counting cards. I'll get a replacement one when I get the next set printed!

I’m attempting to count to 200 in scum, except it is count to 170 next to Seevor.

Koshka is really good against resistance, down to 99. Ive been going bounty hunter and a mining guild Tie, leaving 9 points for more words.

I mean, Maybe™? Like, while that's a true statement, the situation is similar if countdown makes it to the endgame versus a low ship count too.

I actually don't know.

Up the Sentry to a Surveyor, Crack on the Surveyor and Seevor, Trick on Koshka and Rigged on the Bounty Hunter?

Neither one is ideal. But if you have a chance on Vader early you bite on him since he starts the damage avalanche that spins up everyone else's abilities. But usually Vermeil get's burned down first because he's the softest and biggest base to catch in arc. Did he get paired to any 5 A-wing lists over the weekend? I've done some testing with the "Good Stuff" vs some very good players and the A-wings gave the list fits. Especially if they have a pilot advantage over everyone but Vader.

I played against @RStan Friday, and our game was close. It didn't START close though, with him getting up early. I do think I'd change my tactics a bit, and don't really feel "out" on that matchup at all, though I suspect it's favored for the A-wings.

Heh. A peak behind the curtain...he was going to be flying the 5 s/f list and I was planning to take the "Good Stuff". After some league and tournament matches and not really being able to find a good answer to the A-wing swarms we decided to swap out and convinced him to run the 5 a's. Then I took over the SF list last minute. I was looking at running some massed fang lists but again in testing, found that A's just dumpstered them. My S/F swarm went 3-0 vs Scum lists with fangs. :) Rear arcs that don't need perfect info to turn are pretty good vs them. I'm not convinced the S/F swarm is anywhere as good as the 5's (it's not at all) but in the paired team formats they really bullied Fangs.

Funny, I just discussed your game with Ken ;) 5 Awings is a excellent list, it was very hard match and he's considering his next list after 2T65 to be 5A :)

We had some swings, but he made a great opening and I messed mine up. There is no point in trying to play "clever" against someone as good as him, especially when SNR gives him so many possibilities to adapt. And still, I was so lucky with my rolls that I only traded Lulo and half an awing for Wedge, which is basically my bestcase scenario. I expected it to be more one-sided, despite the bad matchup for him - though awings will always have a hard time dealing damage to Luke.

The interesting thing is always to see how really good players just do not make mistakes.

All of Lulo and half another A-Wing is a trade id sign up for in most cases. I usually get just Lulo in exchange for something more expensive than Lulo (40-60pts). Getting into hull on the second A-Wing is basically christmas because it gives a chance for a quick init kill next turn if is not Talli or “disengaged”.

I'd usually agree, but that was half the amount of ships and attacks, and 74 pt for my 64. This time it was christmas for me!

74 pt Wedge?!

My A-wings were always disengaging.

Two T65, 74pt Wedge and 110pt Luke 😄

wait, I meant 'disengaging'.

That's what I like about mixing L'ulo in with three T70's. He's worth a lot less than them but always draws the aggro. If he can roll in and drop 4 hits into something and takes half damage (or dies) I'm ok with that trade most of the time. He's only 1/5 of my list in points. Then the T70's can take a bit more aggressive moves and save their mods for offense.
