Have you played Mass Effect 2?

Eh, a little. I liked the first one more. It's been ages, though.

I'm thinking of the character Zaeed . He comes into the game with little functional equipment but lots of trophies and old guns that he keeps on pedestals.

Never got that DLC. I was actually thinking modern american "Second amendment people."

My point is, your character is more than his equipment, and is very interesting in his own right. You could get a good set of armor and weapons now, and add to/modify your loadout as we go.

Personally, I've always been okay with treating the jetpack as a vehicle for those purposes. With that house rule in place, I suppose you could flavor the neuromachine interface as some sort of cybernetic maneuvering thrusters or somesuch.

What do you guys think about that houserule, allowing jetpacks to benefit from talents & gear that target vehicles?

Also, I really like wishlists.

A Jetpack is on my wishlist

I ran out of money with just 1 modded rifle, 1 armor (laminate, with Strenth assisting system), and a jet pack. Going into debt to my eyebrows gives me my modded pistol and the ability to control my jetpack with my mind.

I don't see how. The modified laminate armor on your Z-Team sheet only comes to 8,000 credits, far cheaper than even an unmodified suit of Kav-Dann powered armor. The "Superior blaster rifle listed in the Z-Team sheet also only comes to 7,800 credits. That's not even 16,000 credits. The jet pack and interface only come to an additional 7,000, easily within the first +20 Obligation. And a standard blaster pistol (Damage 6) is only an additional 400 credits. You could probably cover all of that with just +40 Obligation with enough left for some other gear.

1) don't forget about the standard 500 credits everyone starts with.

2) the Superior attachment is really expensive. You can get a lot more bang for your buck.

The PC power gamer vibe of this thread is amazing!

I was supposed to be making characters to potentially join you guys, time has been incredibly short so it's probably not going to happen, I'll probably stalk all the same for the laughs ?

Zaeed Massani x Wolf O'Donnell x Duane Chapman = Jarash Reynard

Is what I'm thinking

Hey now, I legitly earned my stuff over years of continuous campaigning. And since my character's out of line, I'm fine with changing characters!

I like your character. I don't care if he's got awesome stuff

Best your going to pry out of my taloned paws is something along the lines of "Yesteryear's badass is todays old hat" explanation for stripping superior. but I'm going to need to reworkk some of the character to fix some of the other holes.

OR, it could be chalked up to the old weapon was lost or destroyed, and these are new replacements that haven't been fully modded yet. :P

I meant, I don't care if he keeps his stuff.

It's not up to me though

Both times that happened, replacement modding was the first thing I did, and I commandeered the party mechanic to safely get those two Accurate mods on before the end of the session. He REALLY likes that gun.

What if he has all his broken stuff as trophies of an epic battle where he spent days in a stand off against a whole gang of criminals and came out of it with his life and his bounty?

Or what if it was stolen and he's hunting it down?

I get that, but this is thirty years later, and he's no longer with that group, and doesn't have access to said "party mechanic". These could be literally brand new weapons, fresh off the shelf . And this party does include an Artisan and will include an Armorer .

What's Jarash's gun's name? 's

Never officially named, but we're called it Vera OOC a few times.

Alright, for +10 obligation, I've got Vera (minus superior); Heavy Battle armor with strength assist, heamet scanner and comm; and a jet pack. And 450c left for various sundries.

Also I've reworked my XP to squeeze in Gadgeteer to Jury Rig my weapon to crit better, which should make up for having less advantage to crit with.
