Overlaps only matter within the faction.

Though if we ever get the raddus from last jedi we in trouble.

Here's my abbreviation system for fleet lists:

Single letters of the ships Admiral - Name - s#(squadron number, important typing) b# (bid value) - Extra notes

Example: VVVZZ Motti - Triple Vics - s6AAStrat b2 - Jonus, go 2nd.
Example: IZZZZ Sloane - 1+4 ball You were the chosen one - s8tiesStrat b10 - Go 1st, Kuat + Strategic Advisor, 6 activations

The reasoning is that this gives people all of the most relevant info of the list immediately, ship #, deployments, bid, squadron defenses, the admiral, and any important upgrades you wish to state.

Ship letters are faction-specific only.

Rebel
C - Corvette
N - Nebulon
F - Assault Frigate
M - Home One MC80
S - "Shrimp" MC30 Frigate
T - Transport
L - Liberty MC80
P - Pelta
h - hammerhead (lower case to avoid confusion with Home One)
??? - Profundity MC75 (Suggest R if we don't get the Raddus in the future)?

Imperial
V - VSD
G - GSD
I - ISD

You could just do the Pelta lower case, and the Profundity upper, though if you're in a hurry that may be easily mixed up. What about 'D', for the 'dity' bit of the name? I don't think the Rebels have any D-names ships that are unreleased, save the Dreadnought, and that's dual-faction.

It’s still commonly called a blockade runner really, that’s the only way they ever call it in the spacefights on Battlefront II too when you need to destroy one/protect it

I remember the first name I saw for it was from the Micro-machines pack I bought back in the early nineties; the Blockade Runner.

Then the first essential guide to Starships came out and called it a Corellian Corvette.

then I believe it was the X-Wing flight sim that labeled them CR-90’s.

Thinking of swapping MC80 Home One to O or H. (I think H is easier to recognize) and making the MC75 M.
