Thanks for this. It just realised last night that maybe I have been playing wrong all the time.. I was just looking at all my strenght bonuses against these monsters and forgot the Will test completely. Doh!!

Don't forget to check the icon where the will test usually is! Certain monsters require you to test something other than will. I know there are a few observation and influence ones (for instance, the riot).

It's just a nice touch that the Cross does absolutely nothing against the (Fire) Vampire
