Bet you that little human force-sensitive child was a baby Kyle Katarn!
Before they rescued it, I was laying odds it was Mara Jade.
Guys, this is at most 5 years before a new hope, possibly 4.
Those ages don't add up

Baby=Kyp Durron with sex change.
I'm not great at Clone Wars lore. Only watched 2.5 seasons so far..
The clone aging speed is said to be double a regular person? How long does that accelerated aging last though? Is it confirmed to be permanent or does the effect stop or finish as they age?
That he could be the commando in the pic is awesome but a 72yr old commando? Dubious. If he is physically say mid to late 50s that would be more realistic for a combatent.
There are examples of older but they are pretty rare.
I believe the accelerated aging lasts for a clone's entire life. Looking for a possible cure was a major plot line in the Republic/Imperial Commando series of books. Unfortunately both of those series of books were never completed by the author so we never found out whether or not they found a cure for the accelerated aging.
In the legends book Bloodlines, Bobba has cancer, as a result of being a clone, but learns that another clone is still alive so he tracks him down and finds someone that counteract it. Now it doesn't specify about the aging process but it would be possible to assume it also exists. Not to mention in the same series of books, which take place after TFA, most of the OT characters are still alive and old, but since it's the future (technically, a long time ago) it describes people as routinely living beyond 120 years old, 60-70 is considered middle aged, so either way an approximately 75+ year old Rex wouldn't really be all that old.
In an older script for ANH (back when it was The Star Wars) Luke was an old man who looked 60 but was really over 300 years old.

I mean, I guess with advancements in medicine that's possible.
But I'm really glad "The Star Wars" didn't happen.

The flash gordon really shows in it.
It's very interesting, but the status as first draft shows.

Oh yeah, definitely. Even with that little "Have a bit of this comic version!" you can see why it'd be a boring, boring film.
I didn't know Keith Richard was in the original script? In an older script for ANH (back when it was The Star Wars) Luke was an old man who looked 60 but was really over 300 years old.
He said looked 60 but was really over 300, not looked over 300 before he was even 60...
@bkl re: TAP carried on ISDs
TIE Fighter (the single greatest SW game ever...or at least pretty close) had all manner of ships hanging from racks in all manner of capital ships. If a GUNBOAT can launch from the same mechanism that launches TIEs then I'm sure an Advanced v1 can be stored and launched. Of course Rebels shows TIEs being stored by just landing them all over the place including in ISD hangers, so storage space is not an issue. The TAPs came from the Inquisitors' ISD. They were just keeping the baby with them...because...villain ball?
But in TIE Fighter that was not a storage rack, we only saw that thing when ships were being set lose. Also tie fighter tales place when the Emperor is calling the shots, up til anh the Imperial senete is a road block so to speak. Also admirls in the GE NAVY choose to have powerful cap ships over super fighters, or a mass of long range fighters, hence why the X1, X2, maybe X4-X6, and the X7 never were massed produced. The X3 was the lucky one.
The V1 was made before the Senete was gone, they probably found every reason they could to have it not be mass produced.
Well, that is an interesting take that the Senate, and most likely the Appropriations Commitee, were hampering the build up of military hardware, but the vast number of ISDs alone show how inaffective that was. I suppose as long as the Rebellion used hit and run tactics on capital ship convoys with their assault fighters (basically X, Y and B wings were designed to take out capital ships, with As able to do serious damage with what ever missiles they were throwing around in ROTJ) the Senators sympathetic to the rebellion would have pushed through only short range fighters and huge capital ships with exploitable vulnerabilities. That's a different way of looking at things.
However the Avenger and Defender were slated for full production after the senate was desolved, but the loss of their factories and the internal strife with Harkov and Zaarin made it so that neither fighter saw any large numbers. The death of the emperor sealed the fates of these wonderfully Advanced fighters.
Also those two admirals as well as Thrawn were big into fighters, with Thrawn also utilizing both fighters and capital ships to great effect.
This reminds me. The X1 (or at least Vader's custom TIE that was either based on the X1 or the inspiration for it) is a contemporary of the V1 and possibly preceded it. And here I thought the X1 didn't show up till about 1 year prior to Yavin.
What is the current canon status of the X1 or advanced tie programs?

The X1 seems to be a one off personal to himself
Anyone else think it's weird that the TAP is supposed to be the prototype for the Advanced, but Vader is still flying the finished TIE Advanced just a couple months later?
And that the Inquisitors are still flying the prototypes even though the Advanced is finished?

The TAP is a testbed for a model that is more acceptable for larger scale production.

Not really. The Inquisitor's organization probably liked the V1 to have it commissioned for the Inquisitors. The Grand Inquisitor seemed to like it. And there is the question of how much Vader's TIE is his own work.
Question:
Do you think that Mara Jade could fit perfectly in this new archetype of Inquisitor? I could see her as a favourite Inquisitor of the Emperor and sent to keep an eye on Luke Skywalker.

Well what about all the TIE Advanced Ships we saw in X-wing back in the early 90s? Do they not exist now? How were they different than Vader's ship? Were they the x2 model? And why would Vader's TIE have a specific designation if it was a one of a kind ship? Was that TIE a custom job completely? What about the TIE Aggressor?
Too many questions. The wiki seems to be confused about all this as well. I hope Rebels clears things up soon in a more consistent way than before.

They do not exist now. The old X-wing game is not part of the current story.

I doubt the Inquisitors are the only Dark Siders in the employ of the Emperor. I don't know if they will show the Secret Order or not though. It was a very cool part of TIE Fighter. I hope they can actually make Mara Jade cool if they do have to include her.
I'm still wondering who ok'ed the B-wings super laser

No, but I can easily see Galen as an Inquisitor.

Just remember. That is the only B-Wing that will ever actually have said Superlaser.

I'd say that's a good fit.
Though, I think, once becoming the Emperor's Hand, she shouldn't STILL be an Inquisitor. While it makes sense for them to be drawn from the Inquisition, once they start serving the Emperor personally, Hands shouldn't be in the Inquisition anymore.
It's nice to see that all known inquisitors have been non-human. Kinda pokes holes in the whole 'racist Empire' propaganda from WEG. Or at least we know that Vader and the Emperor don't care if someone is alien or human, they only care about results and ability.
And too bad Mara Jade wasn't a cool alien. Instead she was just another red head Mary Sue.
GUNBOAT!
Hey, I married a red-head mary sue.
IT'S AWESOME.
I would still argue that a less racist and sexist empire is due to a differing time of writing.
GUNBOAT!
