Holy Force, if they make that Rex I will giggle myself to death with glee. If they planned this from day one holy space balls batman.
STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!
I mean, it makes sense.
That was The Rebellion's like,
ELITE
Commando unit. Their best.
If Rex is still alive, not sending him is
stupid.
Including shooting a hostile and dangerous opponent they have surrounded, apparently.
NO, I WILL NOT LET THAT GO!
Get a grip on yourself man. Here have a snack:
All part of a nutritious breakfast...on Endor.
i always liked the "black" respirators than the "blue" ones on the helmet sides....
Well that was a really friggin' good episode. That was
really
really
good. Like ****, wow.
Well done Rebels Team. Just, well friggin' done.
And, once again, the thing I've developed for the seventh sister just isn't stopping. Oh to have a thing for such an evil character is all kinds of wrong and yet
so
common for me.
And based on the preview for next episode, she just continues the creepiness train.
Rex pretty much kinda needs to die.
I hate that he does but...
If old age doesn't get him, then a heroic sacrifice because old age is the alternative will.
Maybe he's got a fiew more good years ahead of him?
Let's see....clones age twice as fast as normal humans. According to Wookieepedia, Rex was born in 32BBY. That would make him 54 in Rebels. ANH happens 5 years in the future and Jedi happens 4 years after that so Rex ages another 18 years making him 72 years old.
Yeah, with taking good care of himself, I could see Rex being the bearded trooper in that picture.
Edited by T70 DriverI was worried since I kinda felt this season was a little on the weak side, but there's past two episodes are rapidly changing that. I'm excited again.

Nice.

Oh totally. I love when these inquisitors pop up.
Finally got to watch the episode. It was lovely!
We got to see the Inquisitors inquisitate people , the baby Ithorian was adorable , Ashoka got in a d-d-d-d-d-duel!
Also, probe droids: the unsung heroes of the Empire. Finding Rebelscum™ bases since 1980.
And the TIEs are out of the prototype stage: they do have backups! Yay!
So much great all at once; I need to go to sleep at some poin t.
I honestly wonder where these clearly superior TIEs with, apparently-i-was-wrong, Hyperdrives, went as the years flew by?
They're obviously better ships in every single way... And honestly, don't seem much more expensive than a regular TIE Fighter. I'm not suggesting they should be the standard...
...But it's still most curious. They're excellent fighters.
*EDIT
They do NOT have Hyperdrives- and speaking of which...
WOW The Phantom got a SERIOUS overhaul!
The TAP seriously needs a better name now that it's not a prototype anymore.
I vote for TIE Inquisitor.
And honestly, don't seem much more expensive than a regular TIE Fighter.
What are you basing that on exactly?
Every TAP we have seen in the show has either gotten blown up or stolen, we have only seen it in combat once. Seems like a let down.
And why was that baby left in the TIE? Why?! That thing doesn't have car seats! It's just not safe! Any homocidal droid just happening by could blow it up. Oh and I guess lasats are used to human babies more than Ithorian babies.

This is the best thing I have seen on these boards yet.
I take everyone back, if that is Rex then we are truly hitting a new era of awesome canon.

I love it. That's what im calling it now.
How 'old' would Rex be in ROTJ? That's 24 years after the clone wars? And Rex was probably 10 at the onset of the war. Add three years...37, of course he ages twice as fast, so 74 years physically. But he's kept up with being in shape, so yeah I will buy that.
And notice the bearded rebel was the guy who put on the scout trooper uniform. Yeah, makes total sense. This is my new favorite theory! Make it so!
(Now what Rex have a noble sacrifice or something this season...darn it)
Star killer AKA Sir not appearing in this canon?
If i'm not mistaken TFU has already been noped to oblivion?
The guy that was saying it deleted all his twitter posts about tfu being noncanon. Also the author for the novel tarkin said it might contradict tfu. I dont see anything that did, i loved the dark empire refrences in that novel.
TFU is likely going to be canonized soon. Juno Eclipse is in X-Wing. Sam Witwer (The Apprentice) is confirmed to be working with Rebels, though the official word is he's voicing someone else...... however I remain unconvinced.
Hes sidious for sure. He played the son, which had elements of powerful darksiders in him, thats why he sounds like sidious some times, he also sounded like star killer some times too.
Juno Eclipse being in X-Wing isn't really a sign of that though. X-Wing still is using the Legends EU material in its new releases like the Mist Hunter.
So far everything refrences legends, i think rebels, tarkin, swbf novel, are almost nothing but a lore conformation stories.
Hell Vader/Anakin dies it without learning so maybe I'm wrong
I think in sw insider they said he found the secret to do so after throwing the emperor to his death. Apparently anankin is in ep 8, the actor that played as him in ep 2 3 6 is doing lightsabre fighting training for his part in ep 8 right now.

It says in the imperial hand book that the adv V was only given to inquisition and other special agents.
Besides that if star destroyers were to take them they would need ether a major redesign to carry them on the racks, or they would have to be kept on the deck with other non-tie fighter craft, taking up said room. Also maintaining them would be a pain because the folding wings cover the whole body when they land. The wings would have to be taken off or they would need something to suspend just high and lowbenough that the s-foils can be fully extended.

According to what I could find, Rex was born in 32BBY, so he'd be 72 in Jedi.
@bkl re: TAP carried on ISDs
TIE Fighter (the single greatest SW game ever...or at least pretty close) had all manner of ships hanging from racks in all manner of capital ships. If a GUNBOAT can launch from the same mechanism that launches TIEs then I'm sure an Advanced v1 can be stored and launched. Of course Rebels shows TIEs being stored by just landing them all over the place including in ISD hangers, so storage space is not an issue. The TAPs came from the Inquisitors' ISD. They were just keeping the baby with them...because...villain ball?

And they've also shown that TAPs can park right there on the deck, with their wings extended, right next to the TIE Fighters.

He'd need a cane not a blaster. If he is still alive, he'd be a general if not already retired. You don't see many commandos past 40.
Edited by Jo JoThey were just keeping the baby with them...because...villain ball?
Villain Ball by Executive Meddling. Can't have an episode revolving around child abduction and child soldier recuritment end on a somber note, by not having both babies rescued.
That wouldn't be family friendly, now, wouldn't it...?

I thought Rex was the Old Man on the Endor strike team in Jedi?

Maybe the rebels were able to retard the excellerated aging for Rex and he was able to continue being a bearded badass.
I just want Rex to be in the movies, darn it! Can't I have that?
GUNBOAT!
I'm not great at Clone Wars lore. Only watched 2.5 seasons so far..
The clone aging speed is said to be double a regular person? How long does that accelerated aging last though? Is it confirmed to be permanent or does the effect stop or finish as they age?
That he could be the commando in the pic is awesome but a 72yr old commando? Dubious. If he is physically say mid to late 50s that would be more realistic for a combatent.
There are examples of older but they are pretty rare.
It could be ANY clone to be fair. but I hope that is indeed Rex in ROTJ! So cool!
Also the bearded figure in Ezra's vision - I'm calling it now: Cody. Wait and see.
