But the red shirts still die. So in a ship battle, Star Trek wins, but if the empire can board the Stormtroopers will win.

I dunno about that, stormtroopers don't take kindly to being charged at.

Apparently neither do Redshirts.

So what you're really saying is that the fate of the Galaxy comes down to a game of chicken between Sulu and Solo.

Solo's going to have to bring his A game against methed out Sulu.

But honestly, as far as things go Red Shirts seem to only be weak against aliens, hyper intelligent computers and scantily clad people. None of these are things that stormtroopers have in spades.

Look, as long as Solo isn't on a narrow walkway above a bottomless pit I think he's at an advantage against a swordsman.

It wasn't so much the fall as the lightsaber through the chest. While Qui-Gon was near a bottomless pit, it was nonetheless fatal for him to be stabbed through the gut. Proximity to bottomless pits only give you extra style points when you die.

If you won't take my word on it:

Well, we know for sure that fuzzy aliens always beat Red Shirts on sway missions, so again it’s about equal.

Speaking of redshirts can we talk about how ISD's are the red shirts of the new canon?

If you count across all formats and mediums in the new canon the amount of Star Destroyers the rebels have blown up, its above 20 (probably 22- 24 if not more) which is more then the 18 redshirts total to have died across all 3 seasons of the original Star Trek.

If a star destroyer and a red shirt shows up somewhere, the star destroyer is more likely to be blown up then the red shirt .

<_< :(

Never let Ysanne Isard command a Star Destroyer. Got it.

I painted my Raider with Red marks. Both curses cancel each other out most of the time (only lost once out of 20 games).

To be fair, Star Destroyers were pretty flimsy in the EU too.

Just board the Chimaera and you should be fine...

I don't particularly care if it's the Emperor, or C-3P0, or even Jar-Jar Binks. Just so long as it's not that whiny Anakin

The only thing that can pose an existential danger to a Star Wars hero is a Star Wars villain. No soldier, or supersoldier, or ship, or pointless doomsday device is going to add tension to the plot if I've already seen the ineffectual legions flub mission after mission.

Remind me, how did the heroes die in Rogue One?
