STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

Im a bit anoyed of how they sometimes introduce things in rebels

Ep 8 not even a mention that they have x wings

Ep 9

They have 24 pilots how can fly x wings , non of who is Biggs, Porkins, Wedge......

And freeeking x wings..... out of the blue

Atleast they had an episode were they stole the y wings

You don't see the bigger picture. SW is not something Disney wants to do for another 5-6 years... They expect to see another 40 years from the franchise. The Original Trilogy timeline has been on the plate forever... it will continue to be like that. You will get your X-wing origin story yet... maybe not that soon, but you will.

I am glad we didn't see X-wing origins, the Ghost crew is already involved in way to many important events.

Anyway, new Rebels Recon episode has LFL staff explaining why X-wings should have BR, and why the X-wing Fix Expansion will feature Hera at PS9.

I don’t know about you nerds, but I for one really loved hearing General Syndulla give the command: “Lock S foils in attack position!”

Really?! There’s an off topic section where you can discuss all kinds of other spoilers. Post that junk elsewhere. Keep this thread related to rebels discussion and rebels spoilers.

@McFoy is a lame sad little troll, who is thankfully on my ignore list.

You know how long some of us have waited for a sequel to Blade Runner? A lot longer then Battlefront II.

Unlike the latter there wasn't any reason to assume there would be Bladerunner spoilers here.

There wasn't any reason to believe there would be Battlefront II spoilers here either, given that this thread is not about Battlefront II.

And it's not even a good mock, because it's an outright lie.

That is true. You only didn't bother to label what the spoiler was about, where as he actively labeled the spoiler as something it wasn't about.

Your is still wrong(despite the "mental gymnastics" you keep doing to tell yourself it isn't despite how much you claim to hate such things) but his is worse.

No, I didn't say mine wasn't wrong. But I did state it was huge spoilers. Labeling it Battlefront II 2 went through my head, but here was my thought process. Again, spoilers below. (You know what they're about this time. Besides, I never spoiler my Rebels posts.)

"If I label it that, people are going to INSTANTLY connect the dots and figure out Iden defected. Just seeing "Battlefront II Spoilers" after bringing up who could be X-Wing pilots would be the biggest, baddest giveaway. So I didn't do it. It was a spoiler doomed to fail from the outset, or so I believed.

Don't use whataboutism as a defense.

We get enough of that from the real world.

I'm glad we didn't get yet another "rebels steal the new asset" episode. We've seen it multiple times already.

Besides, aren't the rebels actually building the x-wings with stolen plans?

How do you add people to the ignore list?

Open the dropdown on your name at the top right then select ignored users.

Somewhat back on point here. It just occurred to me that, despite Hera's reputation as a great pilot, she's been shot down more times than anybody else in Rebels. By my count, she's been bested in an A-Wing, Y-Wing, and now X-Wing at least once apiece. The Ghost itself at least was forced to burn out by TIE Defender but was at least able to limp away. Can't remember if there were any shenanigans with her flying the B-Wing, but it seems that whenever she gets out of the Ghost her luck instantly bottoms out.

Now, I'm guessing that a bunch of the nameless Rebel and Imperial pilots in this series get a pass by virtue of having died when they were shot down, but would her PS necessarily go up if she were introduced in an X-Wing or down?

This is a good point. She's only an ace in the Ghost. She has some good moves in the alphabet ships, but is at her best in her own ship.

Well, she's clearly also an ace in that X-Wing since she outflew that Imperial ace in his Defender.

Yeah, she got shot down afterwards, but that was against overwhelming odds.

Yeah, just like a PS 9 T-65 would get hosed by a TIE swarm in X-wing Miniatures!

TIE swarms are the best...

Even the most famous earth pilot, Manfred Von Richthofen, was shot down twice.

And she was a lot better than in that A-Wing against Fenn Rau.

And the second time at least was because he got too cocky/tunnel visioned/concussed and disregarded his own rules. In that case the ace was erased due to being at a place in his chase where his path was easily traced and could not outpace the coup de grace fired into his airspace.

Actually that's a bit of a thing in Rebels. As long as they accomplish something major and escape, they're just fine. If they push their luck, they inevitably get beaten back. At least that seems to be the case with defeating the Inquisitors at Malachor then getting trounced by Vader not to mention escaping Vader then trying to engage him resulting in the loss of a fleet. Now we see a triumphant breach of a blockade as well as sabotage of ground turrets yet when the Rebels press their attack past that their luck runs right into a brick wall.

Either the Rebel's plot armor only works once per episode or Vader just cuts right through it and TIEs defy the inverse ninja law when in large numbers.

More of a deus ex stultus wedged in by the plot. Again, Thrawn seems to have been possessed by the ghost of Admiral Konstantine and demanded all the glory for himself rather than just wait 5 more seconds for the Defender to shoot Hera down properly. Admittedly we wouldn't have gotten the chase scene through the streets, but at least we'd get to see the new canon survival mechanism for when a Rebel pilot is spaced.

I've always kinda wondered, given rebel helmets lack a breathing apparatus of any sort. Unless you played Star Wars Galaxies, then your Rebel Ace helmet had exactly that.

IIRC there was only 1 defender against the X-wings, and the TIE fighters did not make much of a noise in that fight. So... no?

She was shot down afterwards. By LOTS of TIEs.

At least 36 to be precise.

A major blob like that shoulda been pretty apparent for the X-Wing's vaunted sensors. Maybe Lothal is a bit of a sensor dead zone with all the pollution in the air?

Or Imperial sensor jamming is pretty effective. I believe it was mentioned at Endor.

But how could they be jamming them if they...didn't know they were coming...

BREAK OFF THE ATTACK!

PULL UP, ALL CRAFT, PULL UP!
