It's like how we know human females have metal bits and jewels somehow integrated with their ears - since every time we see one in a movie or TV they have some kind of metal on or dangling from their ears, well, it must be biological.

<_<

So, Xanderf, with all due respect, while I get this erroneous point you're trying to make...

Its more that every single cone matches the skin color of the Twi'lek with the cone. That's what produces the conclusion that, rather than being artificial decoration attached to headdress - it's flesh poking through hole in headdress.

The only times flesh color is not seen, is when something artificial is being worn over cones.

And there's at least one newcanon example of a headdress-free Twi'lek (nothing is worn on the head itself, only on the lekku) and they have cones, too:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Luta

Maybe we're onto something?

Do me a favor, Xan. Explain to me, anatomically, how those cones can fit on a humanoid skull with these human ears, without AMPUTATING the ears.

Sounds like a question for Hidalgo, but since all canonical female twi'lek thus far have had those cones we can pretty safely assume that's the case with them.

They do have cones. Maybe the ones with ears are mixed blood? (or just lack of knowledge from the artist)

PS: Hera looks hot in her "Scummy" clothes.

So far the theme seems to be "every male twi'lek has ears, every female twi'lek has cones" in newcanon. In Legends, there were a very few female Twi'leks with ears - but even that depended on the artist (and I can't recall any male twi'leks with cones). Sometimes the same Twi'lek varied enormously in head shape.

"Doc" Cesi Eirriss, was first depicted as very much "female Bib Fortuna" looks wise, but all later references to her made her look more like a "regular" female twi'lek, with the ears covered up, and the top of the head much smoother:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cesi_Eirriss

Which suggests that they were trying to retcon the original images.

Much better.

You two were very right! Episodes 3+4 were quite allright, and 4+5 were great!

By the way, it irks me that Kanan never meets Mon Mothma as far as I've seen. Even during the holotransmission in season 3 he was conveniently out of the room. Plausible deniability?

Hera is always hot, but not the "Oooh, spicy" hot but a genuine "That there is a strong woman" hot.

The kind you would want to develop something long lasting with, y'know? Sabine also isn't hurting with her dark hair. But that's different. (Also, she's 18 by now before you get on me about her age.)

Basically. Which is a bit of a shame really, I like that at least somebody was like, "You know, the men and women should probably look similar."

But no, for some reason, even in Disney's Star Wars, the guys can't be as pretty as the girls. At least it's not as bad as some other sci-fi and fantasy species where the men are literal beasts and the women just have the ears and tail, or something. (I swear people who do that forget that people who like monster-people exist, and you can almost always bank on Furries to be cool with stuff- just look at the success of Khajiit and Argonians in TES, who's men and women look about the same.)

The only reason I can currently think of for the male twi'lek's to have flappy ears is that they are some sort of vestigial courtship feature, like the mating plumage of a peacock.

It's not the only explanation of this sort of sexual dimorphism, I'm sure, but my headcanon now involves gentlemen twi'leks seductively waggling their ears and I'm ready to die on this hill.

Hey man, I'll stand with you on that hill because there's nothing but plains all around us.

But if we're gonna build a castle here, build not on pillars of sand and account for the weight of the books, yeah?

IT’S over anakin! I have the sandy high ground!

Indeed!

So I guess the real question is would Ferengi find female twi'leks attractive if they were to visit the Star Wars galaxy? They have something at least approximating long dangly lobes... but nothing in the ear department.

On the other hand, Ferengis have a lot more in common with male twi'leks so would the females be swarming around them?

I don't think anybody but Ferengi swarm to Ferengi, honestly. I think the twi'leks would be turned off hardcore by the average Ferengi's BS.

I'm guessing that the average anything prefers it's own race. You will always have the deviants of course, like that one Ferengi that was turned on by women wearing clothes, or yellow-old-chinese-lady-aliens who are into Wookies.

I'm looking at you, Maz.

As for the biology issues, it probably has something to do with humans in sci-fi being able to breed with pretty much anything. Yes, in Star Wars too.

I'm pretty sure @OneKelvin meant the character of Maz(accurately described) not the actress who JJ got to play Maz(and wasted said actress's talent with such a terrible character)

Another pair of really nice episodes this week

and we are getting that Base Delta Zero after all, can't wait

And Kanan and Hera are finally,

finally a thing. Only took four seasons. Now I'm almost certain Kanan is going to die in the next episode before he gets to see Hera again. (Really hope I'm wrong, though!)

So, what did you guys think of the Loth Wolves being able to basically stroll through hyperspace (I think that's what that was?) for short distances? That was a bit trippy, but I really liked it.

So was the wolf on Lothal a reincarnated Ashoka?

I'm betting the crew of the Ghost has already said their last goodbyes. We know that in Rogue One, only Hera is mentioned and only Chopper is seen. We do see the Ghost at the battle of Scarriff. I'm hoping each member of the Ghost crew dies throughout the rest of the season.

As far as the wolves go, I'm ok with them, but really feel like they were just Filloni pushing wolves into star wars. The whole mystical traveling thing, is ok. I'm cool with, as Palpatine said, "a wider view of the force." The Bendu and Loth Wolves, etc. is all fine with me.

The wolves are apparently just Force sensitive wolves. I don't know why everyone thinks there has to be something more to it

People think there's more because they look cooler than they do in the real world.
