Any pics or videos known? ...just checked the Rebels Wiki episode gallery and nothing much there :(

I'm doing a video with some pictures and speculation for X-Wing and Armada. No spoilers though. It'll be up on my channel soon.

Que flock of baby neebrays.

It totally has Mickey Ears!

Chopper playing kick the can with the MSE droid! His apology for being nice, ha!

AP-5 can sing? Nice!

Data Spikes are canon! ...If they weren't already.

Odd that the troopers didn't notice that one droid didn't get the green light at the beginning. That was a bit weak.

The crew ignoring AP-5 felt organic (seen shows do that where it was completely forced).

Hope they go retrieve their shuttle that Chopper jettisoned.

Character development and a tension break from the last couple. And we now know Thrawn doesn't yet know the exact planet they're on yet or they wouldn't be pursuing it through the droid.

Building to something big.

One of them said "the fuel cells are compromised" Fuel cells are what something that we have in our world and they are very efficent power sources.

I believe that the stream of scrap data sent in by chopper compromised the data core, which in return scrambled all the system and caused the Fuel cells to overload, since the controlls were scrabled

Fair enough. I can buy that.

So, we have the quad dish array on top, using two dish sizes, together with the 'AWACS' dish...extra [slightly smaller?] engines that seem to be mounted on winglet extensions...

...but what is that protruding from the underside in the rear view? Don't think it's the ventral gun mount [think that can just be made out above & to the left of 'bump']...is it one remaining docking port? [but doesn't seem to be in quite the right place]...or is it another Comms/ECM array ?

The dishes should be easy enough to 3d-print - the quad arrays mounting pole seems to be in about the place there's a kind of saddle 'hollow' in the existing model...the engines and winglets will be a bit more of a challenge coming up with something that can be plugged/unplugged [ideally without too obtrusive magnets]...but really hoping we get some detailed artwork in the episode gallery on the Rebels Wiki, as we did for the Hammerheads, to get better idea of proportions & details

They used a Data spike at the end of season 1 to hijack the long range comm tower on Lothal.

Also, I have speculated that since it was Kallus who ordered the map changed, it might not be the giveaway to the base site we're all thinking. Kallus has never been to Chopper base, and all his messages have been recordings sent blindly and routed secretly. So he wouldn't know which world to change, and Ezra didn't identify the the base either.

So it is possible that Kallus ordered a random world to be changed, in order to decoy Thrawn. He'd know Thrawn would have copies or memorized the map, and would notice a change. By changing a random world, he'd focus Thrawn's attention on that one, buying time.

I may be wrong, but I thought Ezra changed it, which led us to belive he removed Chopper Base.

As I recall, kallus said they needed to change it, but it was actually chopper who did the changing.

Now, I haven't seen the new episode yet, but does Hera wiping chops coordinates regularly mean that chopper wouldn't have know which system to erase?

I had forgotten that. This one seemed more involved than that one. I liked all the interlocking bits as it dug deeper.

There's a good question. If his tactical memory is wiped after each mission, and he's currently mid-mission, he should know his point of origin for the mission. In which case he would know which planet to erase, but also give away his base to the intel guys. Unless the planet isn't a part of the memory wipes and the intel guys were just so focused on hyperspace coordinates that they missed the tree looking for a forest.

Man, I hate AP-5. I also wanted Wedge to do Wedge things.

Did the Imperial intelligence agents remind anyone else of these guys?

flash-gordon(1980)_4094.jpg

Is it just me, or was it pure absolute coincidence that Chopper had a data spike on him for the imperials to use?

If they had them stored on the Ghost, he could have picked it up off-screen.

Anyone notice Imperial Intelligence has the First Order Logo within the larger cog?

I liked the episode but the data overload.....REALLY?! That was super lazy. I wouldve much rather this episode have ended with a cliffhanger, the Empire finally knows where the rebel base setting up the finale the week after next.

Also AP singing was the greatest thing ever. :) I actually would've liked to hear just a few more measures because I was digging the tune. I don't understand all the people on youtube and online triggered by it.

1: BATHROOMS CONFIRMED. Honest to god canon appearance of a full bathroom like, holy crap. (literally)
2: That... That explosion made no sense. I got no excuses for that.
3: AP-5 is best Disney Princess.

Episode was all over the place.

On the one hand, I'm fascinated by that team of Imperial computer techs. All of that was interesting.

On the other hand, that explosion was total nonsense. It'd be like if a local radio station boosted it's signal till my car exploded. It's dumb on a conceptual level, and also means the Empire doesn't know what a goddamn surge protector is.

AP-5 "Chopper used an Imperial code."

Wedge "Okeedokee."

At least we've seen Rebels can be portrayed as bumbling idiots to the same degree as Imperials.

Yeah, it's just to bad it has to be Wedge they use as their example.

Imperial Lobot was fun.

More FFG goodness in the latest Rebels Recon. Andi has a few X-Wing figures on her desk....left side of the screen, looks like there a Ghost, TAP, YT2400 and something else there.

I say all this realizing that we're dealing with a case of canon shifting after the fact causing slight discrepancies in earlier releases, but Disney is the one who greenlighted these advanced fighters appearing so early in the timeline. Sure, Rebels is the only iron in the fire right now and Disney wants to do all it can to make some extra cash, but it nonetheless brings up case of a German VIP pilot in late WWII being escorted by Spanish Civil War era Bf 109s instead of the FW 190s or Me 262s that somebody of his stature should have access to.

Actually, Hans-Joachim Marseille, the presumably best german pilot during the war was just in a 109G-2/trop on the day he died, together with his squadron. His air group had 6 of those brand new 109G-2/trop, while most regular planes were Bf 109Fs, which are about 2 years older than the G-2.
So yeah, normally those aces got into squadrons which had the newest equipment, even when not everyone in the squadron had access to the newest variants.

Now Vader is very rarely in space himself, his x1 is supposed to be customized by himself and the rest of his squadron seemed to be good, but not on the same ace level as the 181st or Vult Skerris and his wingmen. So maybe Vader never bothered to get special equipment for them as he always assumed that himself is enough to handle anything anyway.

Either way, those early Interceptors are a little odd when we don't see them as Vader's escort in ANH. It not a big inconstancy still.

Read the Lando Comic. Lobot was Imperial. This isn't the first time these cybernetically enhanced analysts have been used in Rebels. I appreciate development of that lore. I just wish the delivery by Rebels measured up to the quality seen in Lando. This episode falls hopelessly short of that standard.

AP-5 > C-3P0

C-3P0 is SUPER annoying. R2 is better than Chop tho. Compared to the early episode in the first season that had 3P0 and R-2, this was alot better.

Man, just watched the Hera hack scene. Tesla is banging his head against his casket lid for failing to realize that if he had just plugged a radio transmitter directly into a dynamo he could have transmitted electricity to everybody tuned into that station. Don't know how they would have resolved the story otherwise, but that was a SMH moment of 'well, looks like THAT is canon now'. I'm off to kiss my circuit breaker box.

But to keep myself from garnering a reputation of only poo pooing Rebels, everything about the nebula fight two episodes ago was epic, the Defender certainly lived up to its Legends... legend, and finally some ISD action even if only the anti-fighter batteries.
