Yeah I suppose even if the Rebellion and the CIS are relatively idealogically alligned, this droid certainly wouldn't trust a clone trooper and a Jedi if he's under the impression that the war is still going on.
Curious if this will be a one-off story, of if it'll tie in to the rest of the season in some way.
I imagine they are going to get a bunch supplies, weapons, and maybe ships. What if they get buzz droids?
What if we get buzz droids in armada?Sorry I forgot this is an X-Wing thread.
There was actually a legends story that involved the Millienium Falcon, a haywire Droid brain computer, a couple dozen buzz droids, and an unfortunate Star Destroyer.... so it could lead to something cannon.
Oh dear, does that mean CIS droid fighters could be added to the scum faction after this episode? Not aligned with Rebels or Imperials, they could be their own sub- faction within scum, much like we have a mandolorian sub-faction within scum right now. Possibility for a second scum epic ship somewhere further down the line?
I hope they don't kill off Rex though, Although I already have a "Heavy" suspicion they might callback to an earlier episode of the clone wars though...
If he was going to go, and not make it to Endor, at least let it be at the hands of Vader or something... not some clanker. No clanker ever bested the likes of Captain Rex!(came close though)
I thought it was a decent episode, but, WAS CHOPPER HAVING PTSD INDUCED FLASHBACKS TO THE CLONE WARS?!? Geez Rebels, way to go dark...

Wait for the next episode then, introducing Vietnam veteran Captain Rex
Looks like this droid is General Kalani from the Onderon arc in TCW.
In the last episode of that arc Dooku told him to withdraw his remaining forces to Agamar. I love it when they have callbacks like this.
In this show a TIE Advanced punches through frigate shields without any problems

Umm ... Vader. Auto-crit.
Unlikely that Rex will be killed off, Filoni said he believes Rex made it to Endor and that the old guy with a giant beard is him.

Vietnam Veteran Captain Rex?
Or Colonel Super Tactical Droid Kurtz?
Regarding the whole TIE Advanced vs. shields debate.
The Lothal Rebels were lacking shield generators at the time, which is why they had a whole episode dedicated to getting more shield generators.
Which was the episode Vader killed 6 out of 8 A-Wings and Phoenix Group's flagship.

Maybe we'll see Cody eventually get some actual story for him

A rival for Rex! Maybe Cody could be an instructor for Stormtroopers and the two of them can learn how much they departed from each other.

I always thought that Cody had so much story potential. Back in TCW, they could've shown how close and he and Obi-wan were, which would make the Order 66 betrayal feel much more real and emotional. They could even say that he faked it and let Obi-wan get away. Now they can possibly show that a lot of the clones still have their honor in the Empire. Kind of like a Pellaeon thing, with a good person working for the wrong side. Could even have Thrawn setup a trap around that, that ultimately fails because Cody rescues them and defects. Or you could go with a show-down kind of thing between him and Rex. So much potential for a story with Cody.

Haha. Everytime I see this I go **** yes, by golly gosh and The Force, **** yes.
Heck yeah, Clone Wars is my absolute favorite, I thought the super tactical droids were awesome, SO PUMPED FOR NEXT EPISODE

Kalani was also in the Crystal Crysis episodes on Utapau where he was destroyed. I'm assuming they're now simply assuming that the droid in those episodes was not Kalani. Since the graphics weren't finished it could have been anyone.

That would be awesome if it's Rex.
So great that it might be worth losing that guy's current Legends name: Nik Sant . Get it?

Totally agree. Last time I watched RotJ I was surprised that in my head I had just rewritten this guy and had a total "Rex!" moment when this scene came on.
Okay, I'm way behind on commenting on this season, but:
Chopper as non-unique Y-Wing pilot confirmed.

I so dislike the ground battle part of the battle of Endor that if this turns out true i'm not even going to be upset by this retcon. I love Rex.
However I am strongly against Filoni's logic. Why would there be an old man in this commando group. Obviously because the Alliance is hard pressed for every soldier, especially a commando, with field experience. This is partly my problem with Filoni and not with this. It's a big war in a big galaxy, why wouldn't there be many old guys in it with big white beards?
Edited by ForrestoAnd in the last episode Sabine piloted the Ghost!
You know you want that!

Nah, sadly I think that was Wedge.
As a former MCH from SWG, I now want a Blerg. Also, now I randomly miss my Humbaba
Thrawn had plot armor against Ezra using force powers on him. Repaid by not nuking them from orbit as they escaped.
Chopper + Explosives = YES!
And Chopper seems to have gotten over his Y-Wing thing. He'll be a real astromech yet!
Kanan and Cham getting along at the table with Hera. Season finale is gonna be a wedding!
Didn't get much history out of that trinket they were going after.. I was expecting a tapestry of some sort.
Couldn't be tapestries. It'd be too close.
Two rebels infiltrate the ancient castle of an evil empire art-collector posing as guests, and ask to view the Tapestries. They then get captured, find a secret command post in the basement, and exit lighting the entire place on fire. Stop me if you've heard this one.

"If you are a scout-trooper then I am Micky Mouse! "
Okay I don't recall. Any more hints? Naw just tell me

Or it won't.

Wouldn't Rex had been one of the most knowledgable and skilled soldiers in the galaxy? He was already with the rebellion 4 years before ANH, as long as we remained with the core group it would be no surprise that he ended up in the Commando Team lead by Solo. Yeah, the old guy in ROTJ could just be some random old guy, but it makes some good sense to connect that character to the much larger Nu Canon. It's not like some farm boy coincidentally and unknowingly rescuing his sister from his father right after leaving his home world for the first time. The old commando guy even dons scout trooper gear to guard the entrance when Solo and the gang enter the bunker...if he was Rex he would know that armor fairly well, being familiar with similar kit from his trooper days, and be pretty convincing in passing off the disguise, at least more so than some Farm Boy or Scoundrel.
And Finloni said it, so it's practically canon anyway.
It's not that it's Rex that bothers me. Again I love Rex, he's actually one of my favorite SW characters. It's that it has to be Rex because he's an old dude with a white beard. My point is it's a massive galaxy with trillions if not more beings within it. I imagine the rebels have a lot of commandos.
It's a cool tie in, but I feel it's a tie in for the sake of a tie in. But it's most likely canon so i'll accept it.

Yeah, I got your point. My point was calling that guy Rex is better than calling him Santa Claus. AND it's a better revaluation than Leia being Luke's sister.
