STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

Oh, yeah, and in the episode before the last....the A-wing pilot. What happened to her? They just....ignored her after they rescue the clone? What's up with that?

Spiderfood.

Just a redshirt.

I hope they retrieved her A-wing afterwards.

What is it with Star Wars and threes? Movie trilogies.....3 seasons of Rebels....6 seasons of The Clone Wars? What are they, Minbari or something?

Always three there are. No more, no less.

The Gozanti, Arquitens, Consular, and (hammerhead transport) ships all have 3 engines, as does Luke's land speeder.. Astromechs have 3 legs. There are 3 living Skywalkers during the OT (and during Ep 7, depending on whether or not you consider Rey one). Star Wars now has 3 mascot droids.

DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUN!

HALF LIFE THREE CONFIRMED

Oh, and I'm sure that Ashoka will come back in some shape or form. They left it too vague and will probably pull her out at some point in time. It's too good a character/story arc to leave alone.

There was originally a scene where they found her shredded and bloody flight suit but it was cut for being too morbid.

Realsies? That would have been cool. Even if just bloodless shreds.

Has there been any blood so far? I can't remember any.

So the Kanan Comic Book series has been cancelled. It was supposed to be an unlimited series.

Kanan was treading on Daredevil's gimmick.

I was bummed about that, I thought it was the best ongoing book. Might have been too mature for fans of the show and not appealing to non-fans (I wasn't watching Rebels when it started, I fell into that category.

I am crushed to hear this. My 10 yr old son and I love the comic. I really enjoyed it. It's a shame.

I just googled it and it seems that it was originally going to only be a 6 issue series, but far outsold it's expectations. They turned it into an official series. The sales dropped down to half of what it was at it's peak, but those numbers were still well over most other Marvel titles. It just wasn't as much as the other Star Wars comics or what it originally was. So, they canned it. Poo!

I think it was a case of them convincing Weisman to continue until it's replacement was ready.

How it ends just as Poe's series is about to release is rather convenient.

I never liked it to be honest. While the framing device was that the book took place during Rebels, the majority of the book was always flashback to when Kanan was a kid, which means it's really a Prequel-era book. Which means I don't give a ****.

The rumor about Star Wars Rebels ending after season 3 is based on another rumor that another Star Wars cartoon between episode 6 and 7 will take its place.

If this is true, then it would seem that Disney prefers post-Endor to pre-Endor.

i'm hoping Rebels goes way past Season 3, because Shattered Empire was meh, even with Poe's conception in there.

So I saw the episode... It was ok up till the part Darth Vader loses... I know you don't see it on screen but that is the only way Anakins apprentice would be able to walk away from that fight. At least it still leaves it open for Vaders apprentice (Star Killer) to kill her, which would be 100% fitting.

JFYI its not metaphorical, Vader and Anakin are two seprate people. When Anakin pledged himself to the Sith his spirit died, split, only Vaders remained. And when Vader Turned to the lightside, and saved Anakins son, he was rejuvenated, and he was able to move on... even to heaven. The problem know is that Vader still remains in the material world, which we will see in SW ep 8. Darth Caedus has been trying to get a message from his dead grand father... Well something just called back to him, and its making long distance charge fees on his bill. And its gonna be a hefty price to pay.

I guess you missed the massive explosion that takes up most of the screen then?

I'd be very interested to know how you acquired the Episode 8 script. As would Disney's lawyers.

Star Wars Episode VIII: Attack Of The Vader Zombie Made of Ash.

Darth Caedus

...is from the Legends continuity. Given in Force Awakens Han and Leia have a single child and given how the events of said film prevent them from having any more we can say categorically that he does not exist in the new continuity.

Galen Marek presently does not exist in the new continuity and given the creative direction of the story group is unlikely to.

I don't see any problem with the saw blade on the lightsaber handle. A lightsaber causes clean wounds that immediatly get cauterized, a crude saw blade does terrible and painfull things. Its not a better weapon, but it will cause a lot more terror when used to threaten or torture someone.

Oh thank god someone else said it.

I mean, we're not forgetting that these inquisitors are disciples of Sith ways, right? They may not exactly be Sith themselves but they are still disciples of such ways.

That is why they have these things.

I was thinking the exact same thing, terror weapon and messy.

I was thinking the same thing also.

It's post 66 though isn't it? Imperial Era?

First arc is. With kid Kanan on the run. Second arc goes further back, to his time in the Clone Wars as a padawan.

Interesting.

I personally see anything prequel set as (assuming it's good) salvaging that era. OT content builds on something that was good already, PT content salvages and improves something with potential that was poorly executed.

Yeah, I can see that. But I still can't force myself to be interested for some reason.

I'm not even reading the new Obi-wan & Anakin book.

I personally think it is THE weakest offering from Marvel so far. I didn't overly enjoy the Leia and Lando series but also didn't have trouble finding the motivation to read them - I felt like I had to convince myself to read #3 at the weekend. If I wasn't such an obsessive completist, I would likely stop getting it.

I guess you missed the massive explosion that takes up most of the screen then?

It wasn't a conventional explosion? You wouldn't know how strong the concussive force was and any other after effects of said blast would you? For all we know, and I actually am sure of this, it was just a harmless release of force energy. Or at the least harmless in the immediate since.

Legends is canon with Disney Wars, it is secondary canon. Because Ben is Darth Caedus I can call him Darth Caedus all I like.

Star Wars Episode VIII: (3) Attack Of The Vader Zombie Made of Ash.

Getting hostile ehh? First point, not my problem, Second point not my problem. Third point I wasn't talking about Zombies, I was talking about Sith Spirits. We see them in the shows and other mediums all the time.

Ps It think its against the rules to threaten people with legal action/s of any kind on this website. The underlined part looks like a Grove threat to me.

Galen Marek presently does not exist in the new continuity and given the creative direction of the story group is unlikely to.

He exists, nothing contradicts his existence, as what you are seeing right now is before the REBs become the Rebel Alliance and also, as LFL has basically said, its only the fine details that may become non-canon.
