He's punching the wound to try and channel the pain.
That actually makes a lot of sense.

Throwing out a concept: Ezra survives, becomes a disgraced Jedi by his own choice due to a fall to darkness he experienced during the civil war. He's present at Luke's new academy for Jedi, trying to be involved but still distant. When Ben starts to get curious about the dark side, he talks to a teacher he can feel has touched it, Ezra. From him he hears the story of Malachor and travels there, finding his new saber.
I like it!
What you have to understand about Vader is on the surface he doesn't believe he is Anakin, he believes he was Anakin. He treats Anakin like a different person: hence when talking to Palpatine it's Anakin's apprentice, Anakin's son, not his. This is a coping mechanism.
YES! Yes. This is exactly why I loved when Kylo Ren told Han, "Your son is dead. He was weak and foolish like his father, so I destroyed him.” He shows that same forced distance from self as a way to cope with the internal struggle of light and dark. The only way to truly become what he wants to become is to kill who he was and be born anew in the dark side.
This guy! This guy gets it!
What I want to know is, how was it he got Vader's mask/skull without being annihilated by shark toothed piranha-like hordes of bloodthirsty ewoks, and yet was beaten in a lightsaber duel by some teenage chick who just discovered the Force for the first time?
Is he so emo he's THAT intimidated by cute girls?
I have a question. So....there are a couple of guys that have never seen Rebels before. I'm trying to get them excited about the Wave 8 ships. Which one episode would you recommend that would be good and shows both the V1 and the Ghost?
Is Empire Day the one that ends with the Inquistor's TIE chasing the Ghost?

yes, I like that story arc.... just rewatched a few weeks back.

That one and the follow-up episode (even with Tracers)...!

You people never cease to amaze me.
He was shot by a god **** Bowcaster.
And was profusely bleeding.
And also not right in the head, what with all the chest slamming.
He's punching the wound to try and channel the pain.
Yeah I'm seriously not sure how anybody who claims to be familiar with the Dark Side misses that as the intention.
Seriously, how is that detail lost on anybody?

Wow, soooo serious.
Did no one catch the part about ewoks being teddy-shaped piranhas? No one? (sigh)

I thought he was punching himself to stay conscious, after all he was shot by a mass driver that throws metal bolts that s surrounded in a laser field. And it causes explosions. He has some training in force sustain other wise he would be dead. Besides that he is losing blood, so he will be getting weaker and dizzy, hence why I think he was forcing himself to stay awake by beating his wound. Although it will get to a point he wont feel anything and then... There will be an after party...

They see what they want to see. Kylo didn't statisfy their desire for a one dimensional bad guy with his pretty face, so any reason to hate on him is welcome. In my opinion seing Kylos further development is the most exciting thing about the upcoming movies.
I hope that the Malachor story in Rebels gives him some more historical context and ties Rebels (and with that both the PT through TCW and the OT because of the time period) and the ST together. It would be pretty great for the universe.
Maybe the tech behind the mass shadow generator (the thing that blew up malachor V) is the same tech used to create the deathstar super laser and by extension, starkiller.

Wait a second.
You're saying... the crossbow's a railgun!?
(If you're just using "mass driver" as a byword to emphasize the electromagnetic containment and driving elements that would be present in any plasma weapon I will be seriously unimpressed. Seriously that would be akin to saying "My lawnmower is driven by the awesome power of it's internal combustion engine .": technically yes, but you're reading like an advertisement now.)

Same dude. Kylo Ren is one hell of an interesting character.

Oh yeah man. That gun means business.
Well, it sure ain't no crossbow
I was surprised when I learned LAAT/i missile launchers and AT-TE main gun are in fact railguns.

Darth Emo-Cry-Cry has the POTENTIAL to be a fantastic villain, simply because what we saw in TFA was a skill/knowledge level that probably approximates ESB Luke. Maybe RotJ Luke where Cry-Cry murdering his father is the equivalent/corollary of Luke showing mercy towards his own to reach the next plateau.
If they play it right and develop things properly, I think Cry-lo could become one of the most interesting characters in the series.
All that being said, taking only what we saw in TFA at face value, I totally understand why he leaves a lot of viewers flat. If you care enough, you can see that there's more context and story there, but viewing it in a vacuum of just the one episode... eh.
I really hope they do right by him. It could be AMAZING to see the hero and the villain develop simultaneously.
Well, it sure ain't no crossbow

That's the allure of railguns and electromagnetic weapons in general: you can put the components in anything!
The idea of using electricity to propel objects efficiently can be applied to almost anything, and almost every weapon concept we've created could be upgraded by replacing or adding electromagnetic bits. Trains, guns, and elevators already use this technology: to not use it in our sci-fi techno-babble would cause z-rust to occur.
Things that could be improved with electromagnetics:
Chainswords: The entire weapon is one oblong electrical motor; apply electricity, rotate chain. Easier to maintain, more resistant to impacts: just what you want in a melee weapon!
Plasma Weapons: Unless you take the Xenonauts route and use gravity to contain and propel your plasma, EM propulsion is the only way to get these. Plasma will corrode your rails though: with no magnets contacting the projectile means it's probably better to go the coil gun route with these.
Missiles, Rockets, and Chemical propellants: Anything that moves can move faster with a little booster stage! Most missiles require a lot of fuel to get up to speed, and even more to maneuver; dumbfire rockets and bullets use all of their fuel to get up to speed. If speed is all you want, why not equip your launcher with some hamdy-dambdy EM propulsion and cut down on that fuel intake! Rockets and bullets can do away with chemical propellant altogether and guided missiles can cut it down to just what is needed for maneuvers! Plus with portable electricity doing all of your work for your there'll be a lot more room for, guess what: more missiles! Macross thanks you.
Remember, gravity applies to
everything
; so if you figure out a way to do artificial gravity, you can do all of this with anything! Apply gravity to brick: instant weapon!

The Season 2 opener has a nice battle (the opening one) that could itself be an X-Wing mission, if one but had the big ships. I don't remember seeing anything memorable with the V1, though. We did finally get to see its wings fold recently, though.

You mean actively..? We've seen them fold before that too.

This is generally my go to argument when people get overly concerned with sci-fi physics. Listen, they've got artificial gravity. Pretty much anything physics related goes completely out the window if you have any kind of gravity altering technology.
Somewhere, someone said there will be 5 seasons of Star Wars Rebels.
Season 1: Forming of 1st Rebel Cell
Season 2: Finding a base
What will future seasons be about?
Rumors say Thrawn will be in Rebels for season 3, so that season could be about trying to outwit the Empire / Continuing to grow the fleet, leading up to a big space battle in the finale.
Rumors also said Mara Jade was in Season 2. We will see.

Mara could be that third inquisitor that is suppose to show up in the season finale. It does appear to be another female in similar garb to seventh sister, with a thin wiry frame, like that of a teenager/young adult.Rumors also said Mara Jade was in Season 2. We will see.
A closer look at that third Inquisitor also shows that character having three fingers and one thumb, and two-toed, claw-like feet. Unless they change Mara Jade's species for the new canon, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it won't be her.
Still doesn't mean they can't make Mara canon in the future.
