What you have to understand about Vader is on the surface he doesn't believe he is Anakin, he believes he was Anakin. He treats Anakin like a different person: hence when talking to Palpatine it's Anakin's apprentice, Anakin's son, not his. This is a coping mechanism.
YES! Yes. This is exactly why I loved when Kylo Ren told Han, "Your son is dead. He was weak and foolish like his father, so I destroyed him.” He shows that same forced distance from self as a way to cope with the internal struggle of light and dark. The only way to truly become what he wants to become is to kill who he was and be born anew in the dark side.

Does anyone know what's going on with the latest episode on UK Amazon Video?
Normally each new episode gets added on the Sunday morning after it's aired, but this week there's nothing. The latest episode in the UK is 'The Honorable Ones', whereas the USA site offers the latest episode 'Shroud of Darkness'.
Help me Obi-wan Kenobi...I need my fix :-(
I remember posting on the second page of this thread on my original account...wow it's a lot longer now.
While I can't account for the UK, I know there is no new episode THIS week (as per the lovely Andi from Rebels Recon).
It's an Andi thing...
I've never heard of Rebels Recon. I'll have to watch it with my son.
You know, watching The Clone Wars all the way through, and then watching the original 3 Star Wars movies, I looked at Darth Vader differently. It was really interesting. I talked to my son about his recommendations for watching Star Wars movies. How would he recommend watching all the Star Wars stuff in what order? He said to watch Ep 1-2, then Clone Wars tv show, then 3, Star Wars Rebels, and then the rest of the movies. He said that you get a lot of background story on a lot of things that happen in Ep 4, like who the heck is Grand Moff Tarkin. I kind of agree with him on that. I'd love to show a new generation of fans the story from a progressive time frame to see what they think. I know that's heretical to some people.
Edited by heychadwickI made the mistake of watching the Rebels episode in the Jedi Temple (ep. 17 I believe) and THEN going back to watch the Clone Wars. Knowing the struggle Ahsoka has later, it really makes her early days as Anakin's padawan bittersweet.

Amazon Video only got everything since Siege of Lothal in the last few weeks. Disney is really lazy with UK licensing.

What I want to know is, how was it he got Vader's mask/skull without being annihilated by shark toothed piranha-like hordes of bloodthirsty ewoks, and yet was beaten in a lightsaber duel by some teenage chick who just discovered the Force for the first time?
Is he so emo he's THAT intimidated by cute girls?
Edited by BenderIsGreatYes,yes he is.
Back to the last episode, I did like them showing Kallus as more than just an evil guy. As a honorable warrior and all that. And I think it would be cool to see him in Rogue One or another of the live action movies. But I don't think it will happen. And that brings me to what used to casually bother me, but recently has been bugging me more, and that is why isn't Kallus black? The actor who voices him is a black actor from England. Why make Kallus white at all? I don't understand. If they had just modeled the character off the actor they could have used said actor to portray Kallus in live action. Is there no black Imperials? Or is there just racist artists? Or is there just some benign reason I am missing?

Yeah.... here. Enjoy... I think.
Poor Chopper doesn't even get a voice actor.

Not sure if this got addressed// Chopper has 2 voice actors.. actually..
whoever did this video, and I don't think it was by Disney, is miss informed..

I have heard a few theories on that. One is that when Kylo did his mind-meld, he sent information to her that pretty much taught her how to use her powers. Another is that she already had some training from before, but it was jedi mind-tricked so that she forgot it. It wasn't until Kylo did his mind-meld that broke it and she started to remember.
I think someone said there is more to it in the novel version of "The Force Awakens".

Ah right :-( I've only just started watching them on Amazon a few weeks ago since I got a new TV with their App built in. Fingers crossed that this won't be another long delay then.

Endor holocaust. The vicious little blighters were all long dead, suffocated or starved in their little arboreal hovels.

I know you're not being serious, but in actuality, he didn't.
He paid Bazine Netal:
to retrieve it from a group of retired storm troopers, who had taken Vader's mask after the battle of endor. Well, they don't actually say what exactly was retrieved in the book (The Perfect Weapon), but it's strongly hinted at.

Basically yeah.
Kylo got his ass kicked because he was essentially minutes from death. Now, if he wasn't..? Ooh boy.
I can't really see the show 'ending well'. Sure it's not as set on a path of doom and gloom as The Clone Wars was, but its still got to end by removing the Jedi from the scene (by killing them or sending them into hiding) and they fundamentally cannot win against the empire... unless the show runs long and ends up continuing parallel to the origional trillogy somehow (if they do that and don't make it cannon that Rex is on Endor, ill be very disappointed). Hell they can't even stop the Death Star from being finished (I mention this due to the hints and references which have cropped up across the show and the end of TCW which might point to the death star being in the future of the series at some point).
So the heros can't defeat the big bad, they cant stop their super weapon, and they have to be removed from the limelight before the Rebel Alliance really pulls together and becomes a military force rather than scattered cells. How?
Perhaps they liberate Lothal and it becomes the first rebel occupied planet... but then wouldnt the Death Star have an obvious first target?
Perhaps their big victory will be destroying the inquisition?.. but then rumour has it that Rogue One will feature some red lightsabre weilder other than Vader, so how big of a victory could it be?
Perhaps the series finale will be the battle that was taking place when the Death Star Pans were being stolen.

Why must their victory be of galactic importance? And why can't they stay their own Rebel cell. Heck, canon has already said not everyone was at Endor.
Or they could be at Endor just not seen onscreen You can't be sure they weren't there for the same reason that you can't determine the strength of the rebel fleet by counting the ships seen on screen because we know that we never saw all of the rebel ships in the fleet in a single shot and have no way of knowing how many rebel ships were at the battle but never shown on screen.
Except that Rogue One is covering the stealing of the Death Star plans...
When exactly is Rebels taking place?
From what I can find, 14 years after order 66. So if each season is a year, that puts us to 16 years. So if Luke was 19 (born pretty much on order 66 day), that means Rebels is a mere 3 years from A New Hope. So I can see the real possibility that the existence of the deathstar is discovered by Kanan and friends (not stealing the plans though), setting up Rogue One.
Throwing out a concept: Ezra survives, becomes a disgraced Jedi by his own choice due to a fall to darkness he experienced during the civil war. He's present at Luke's new academy for Jedi, trying to be involved but still distant. When Ben starts to get curious about the dark side, he talks to a teacher he can feel has touched it, Ezra. From him he hears the story of Malachor and travels there, finding his new saber.
