STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

Its either a Quaser Fire class or a design meant to look just like one. In either case the odds of it being small enough to appear in X-Wing are pretty much zero.

Until I just print one on a play mat!

I shall call it...Raven Home! No, Raven Nest....Roost? Raven Roost? Something like that.

Could you guys actually talk about Rebels as it pertains to X-wing? Like taking about what kind of carrier it will be? You basically doesn't the lady week and five pages talking politics FFS.

Death Star Lasers don't melt steel beams. Alderaan was an inside job!

What if I told you... the Superlaser was only supposed to destroy a spaceship. Firing it at a planet would only destroy the royal palace, thus killing Bail Antilles. Tarkin was shocked when that one blast triggered a chain reaction which destroyed the entire planet. Just how many weapons of mass destruction did Bail have? We'll never know at this point!

But back to rebels. Tonight's ship marks another candidate for Armada, for sure.

Man, I lost my season pass in Season 301-gate, and when I finally lined up an alternative viewing strategy I was all excited to catch up on this thread.

I do not wish to extend the ridiculous terrorism argument here, but...

To anybody using the "using violence to bring about change" definition to argue that the Rebellion is a terrorist organisation by definition: when the violence you're planning is "blow up the Death Star" and the change you're trying to bring about is "reduce the number of Death Stars by one," that's not what they're talking about. Blowing up an apartment block on Coruscant, then going in the Holonet and saying "These attacks will continue until the Empire discontinues the Death Star program," is terrorism. Blowing up the Death Star is not.

I apologize if this extends the argument. I wish I were strong enough to just let people be Wrong on the Internet more often.

I think you might be misinterpreting me slightly. I'm not attempting to shift blame for Alderaan's destruction away from Tarkin/Emperor.

Fair enough. :)

My question is around the first statement about Bail and whether or not he excised his (un-elected) power outside of his purview.

But we'd have to know just how much he actually did and how much the people of Alderaan actually knew. To extend your metaphor how upset can I be with Bob if i knew what he was doing?

This thread has never been about Rebels as it pertains to X-Wing, it's always been about the TV show and the early days of the Rebellion in Star Wars.

Wouldn't the mods have then moved it to the Off-Topic section?

Still - there's plenty of room for "X-wing centric" steering of the topic - for example, coming up with stats for the Fang Fighters, the Mining Guild TIEs, Sato as a Crew card, and so forth.

Sato as a crew card, you say? I'm sure I have one here somewhere that I did a while back... Ah yes, here we go.

Fancy a Liberator title as well?

You might want to check with Captain Lackwit before you go taking his thread in new directions.

PERMISSION TO SPEAK OFF THREAD-TOPIC SIR!

Captain Lackwitt: DENIED!

Wouldn't the mods have then moved it to the Off-Topic section?

Perhaps, but they haven't, and as I said this thread was started to discuss the show itself, now how the show applied to the game. Now 161 pages later, it's still the same thing.

Just watched this week's episode twice. I liked it very much. New/old ships!!! and a possible new game mechanic or upgrade, pilot ability came to mind while watching... I wont spoil. :)

Yeah, I'm pretty certain the thread was created before the off topic forum existed.

Wouldn't who?

What?

You're not even making sense, anymore...

What if I told you... the Superlaser was only supposed to destroy a spaceship. Firing it at a planet would only destroy the royal palace, thus killing Bail Antilles.

I would tell you that that sounds like a much more useful weapon than the Death Star laser actually is.

I've maintained for years that I'd just aim a far smaller superlaser at the polar icecaps, and blockade people from leaving. A planet can be resettled. An asteroid field not so much.

Seems like every time a new ship shows up on the show it get's it's own thread anyway.

Like I know those Mining Guild TIEs have their own thread.

An exacto knife and some dull yellow paint should not deserve it's own thread though.

Well, it's not just about the model, but about the special rules that model would have.

True, it would be another Scum ship.

Illicit TIE with a kraftwerk soundtrack.

It makes for an exceedingly efficient mining laser.

You guys do realize the Death Star Laser can be used to shoot at Starships to... and In rapid sucession actually.

Not on the first Death Star.

That was specifically mentioned to be a DSII thing only. Something about a refocusing crystal or somesuch.

Ok cool, learn somthing new everyday.

What should have happened.... is when they fired the DSII for the first time... the explosion should have been just as big as the Alderan explosion. The entire Rebel Fleet, the Imperial Fleet, Half the death star, and all of the ewoks should have been destroyed from the shockwave.
