STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

^The mcquarrie corvette just showed up this episode despite disappearing from the fleet halfway through the season.

Yeah, I noticed that and I was like. "Hey, wait a minute... Hold on..."

God, Phoenix Squadron is just...the worst.

Right? Seriously, god ****.

Right because other rebel fighter squadrons in canon have such great survival rates. 3 out of 30 survived Yavin and that was ust one battle so Phoenix squadron isn't really doing that bad.

I wish they would include some actual Mandalorian fighter designs instead of using their mislabeled assault transports from TCW.

Well, these are actual mandalorian fighter designs.

Anyway, I agree. Rebel Pilots honestly suck. Imperial pilots often pan out to just be better. The only Rebels that succeed are ones that have names.

It's kind of neat, actually. Star Wars is actually pretty good about Hero/Villain morality rates.

I'm pretty sure these ships are a new design - smaller, cockpit in a different place, going by the Databank.

I predict that eventually the Databank will split these off from the TCW ships.

I hope so. They really gaffed that one. They're EXTREMELY different.

Though let me tell you, those engines look just like the Rapier engines in KSP! I should make this thing there. Could be cool.

.

They're bigger then a light freighter,, lightly armed for a military craft their size, and carry two dozen troops. Sorry but none of those traits equal fighter in my book.

Doesn't the "carry two dozen troops" ability only apply to the TCW model?

Have you actually seen the episode?

I haven't - but even a cursory glance at the Databank showed that the ship illustrated was vastly smaller than the TCW model.

The stats for the TCW model (fighter/bomber/dropship) put it to be bigger than the GHOST (length: 52m vs. 46m). The ones shown in REBELS are clearly a much smaller fighter design.

There were two TCW models - the common one is even bigger at 68m. I think the 52m one was Vizsla's personal ship.

I love the Mando Pilot suits.

The mando ship from The Clone Wars was big. Held a whole squad of guys.

The ship in this latest episode is a single person fighter sized ship. Same overall look, but different.

Old Master.

EDIT:

Might want the right trailer.

Not sure why people think the "Old Master" is Darth Maul. He was never the master. He was Darth Sidious apprentice. The "Old Master" is Darth Plagueis whom discovered the secret of immortality.

Did you not see The Clone Wars?

^^It's clearly Darth Maul. He has the same exact face tattoos and the same guy who voiced him in the clone wars voices him in the trailer.

Just look up SW rebels old master on Google images and you will see tons of brightened images better showing his face.

EDIT: This image is the best one I could find.

Anybody else catch an important detail; Sabine said her family was from Clan Ren, as in Kylo the Emo Sith Boy.

Also, I want the maneuver that lets me immediately flip behind a fighter that's tailing me, like they did on TV.

Subtitles, Databank, etc say Wren, not Ren.

So after this episode, that's how many A-wings down now?

6 lost to vader, 2 lost during the run on that blockade, however many may have been in that "missing patrol" captured by the interdictor, that one Ahsoka had to leave behind on Takobo, probably a few during the escape from Garel, 3 more after this episode, probably more over the rest of the season... That's over 12 A-wings lost during this season.

Clumsy Phoenix Squadron.

Can't be a phoenix without dying over and over again, right? ;)

Still, they suck. It seems like they get reduced to one man every time there's a dogfight. No wonder Rogue Squadron and their X-Wings rose to primacy....

I chose to believe what I chose to believe. Plus, the Databank has been wrong before.

It has- but the "Wren" name has been used widely in Rebels tie-in media.

Knights of Ren ≠ House Wren

The in-universe diary they published says "Wren"

Also Kybo-Ren is not Kylo-Ren

Matt Is Kylo-Ren

It's not so much the databank, but it is what they announced her name as from the start.
