well consider that during the clone wars, Fett was a pre-teen and still just starting out.. while Cad Bane was an adult with lots of years of experience. so of course he'd come across as cooler.

Wow. That's Not what I said.

Ending the character just means ending their arc. Putting it to rest. That doesn't mean beheading their sorry arses. It literally just means, "If you are the owner of this character, and you do not wish to see their character arcs ended or extended in ways you desire, ensure that their tasks or roles are completed with a fulfilling sense of finality that others will not disturb should the idea even occur to them to have that character interact with theirs, should such a time come."

I'm gonna start making extremely long winded posts detailing exactly what I mean about things since extrapolation seems to be a dead practice.

I thought those gun duels where they wait for each other to draw their weapon was because, back in the west, the first one to draw was committing a crime, and the second one was just self-defending. Of course no-one wanted to be considered a criminal, so they waited for the other to draw first, in front of witnesses (in the middle of the town, on a main street).

But here? They are two bounty hunters in a war. What are they afraid of? Why standing still and wait for the other to draw first? It makes no sense!

One thing is the "Rule of cool". But when taken too far, it becomes so lame!

which is exactly my point... Disney wiped the EU so previously finished arcs could be revived,rewritten or forgotten as they saw fit.

I'm going to start off with stating that I love the characters of the Ghost Crew. Some of the best additions to the Star Wars universe.

Sentimentality is a stormtrooper missing a shot from three feet away.

No one said kill everyone off however this is a war story. If several people don't die then thats some bull.

I HATE that everyone either takes the stance that you can't kill characters off or if you do then you're going to go the Walking Dead/Game of Thrones route. You can kill a few major characters off as long as it serves the story. Rogue One is the extreme, and its not what I think should happen, however the EMPEROR is involved now. You cannot diminish his power and he's not the mercy giving type.

See I don't want pointless death.

Cad Bane dying in an unaired episode of the Clone Wars is a pointless death, when more stories could have been told.

Because canon should be tied to a mediocre comic that ends a major fan favorite character?

What is your point because Disney is not resetting the canon, and if for whatever reason they do, Rebels is most likely to survive the jump just like the Clone Wars survived the old EU.

No, my point was finishing arcs means little, should the powers that be decide otherwise.

Unless Rebels is retconned and trashed they aren't going to mess up anything that happens in it when it comes to characters.

The only things that may change after the fact are that aspects that always fluctuate from SW story to SW story such as the relative strength of grunts and fighters.

If it makes you feel better, I don't think the unaired episodes are considered canon. So Bane could still return later.

I believe the point he's trying to make is that ending a character's arc is meaningless as long as the character is alive(and sometimes, not even then). Because as long as a character was popular, someone else will ALWAYS bring them back, no matter how "finished" their business was.

Ashoka's arc was pretty well sewn up in TCW. But they brought her back in Rebels anyway, because she's popular. Boba Fett was dead, but didn't stay that way, because MARKETING! It's as true now as it was in the EU.
