Why the **** bother to do an episode on Wedge and Hobbie, then probably end up with Hera doing the heroics in an X-wing?

Classic characters are here just for cameos while the "Rebels" do more and more stuff so awesome Palpatine will soon surrender to them.

Because Hera is a main character of this show? Cameos from already established characters is nice, but Rebels is still a show about the crew of the Ghost. And just because we don't see Wedge and Hobbie doing heroics in X-Wings doesn't mean they aren't doing anything else where or take away from what they've already done.

Believe me, if the Emperor didn't surrender to Luke for blowing up the Death Star, then the accomplishments by the Ghost crew aren't gonna single handedly bring about the end of the Empire either.

Keep in mind, when New Hope rolls around, Wedge is taking orders from the farmboy who just showed up with the princess in tow.

He may become a spectacular pilot by endor, but he's still a kid in Rebels.

We see several xwings in the trailer, wedge and hobbie might be her wingmen.

I'm OK with the Ghost crew been the main characters of the show Rebels. What really pisses me off is seeing them as main characters of X-Wing The Miniatures Game (while in the Star Wars "Big Picture" they are minor).

Hear me FFG, enough of repeated Rebels' pilots in this game!

That means NO FREAKING HERA AND EZRA AND SABINE IN GREEN X-WINGS! But these guys (in Blue X-Wings).

But that's where the stream of new content is coming from. That, and the Sequel trilogy. While I agree that they don't need to be in everything, they are what we have to fill out pilot slots because they are the ones we see doing the flying. Same with sequel cast. I will be surprised if there is no cross over of previously introduced pilots for the T-70 and the Resistance A-Wing.

Odanan, I hear ya with the over exposure, but I'd be fine with them in X-Wings... as long as they aren't the ONLY pilots we get with a new X-Wing... besides, I think the only one we'd see in an X-Wing is Hera and maybe Ezra. I'd love to see more Rebel pilots that flew them along with a solid fix for the classic X-Wing (a new Biggs would be great honestly. Same PS as the old, just a new ability...). Just call the box "Yavin Aces" and you can include pilots from Rogue One and Rebels, have pilot and upgrades for X-Wings, U-Wings, and Y-Wings, and throw in two new X-Wing miniatures in Blue and Green/Phoenix Squadrons (and maybe a new Y-Wing... besides the TIE Interceptor, have we seen another model with 3 official paint schemes?) and call it a day.

Actually, if we're talking about screen time, blue squadron are the ones doing the flying.

We definitely need more Rogue 1 stuff (and less Rebels BS). Maybe that'll come with the new world champion's card, since he seems to really want to design Chirrut crew.

Both have screen time, feeding into what I was saying about why it is okay to see Hera in a X-Wing.

It's not. Enough Hera, Ezra, Sabine. Oh, specially Sabine.

We have what? About 10 X-Wing more canon pilots from both the OT and Rogue One. Why the HECK would FFG release one more Hera??

The only silver lining is this is the last season for Rebels.

But she is popular. Because while this is the last season, it's still on going. I'm not saying she's a better choice than the others, but saying that she shouldn't even be an option is a little short sighted.

You might not like the characters in the game, but that is not a universal feeling.

Hey, Hera's pilot ability with R2 astromech and VI will be nuts.

Is the Rebels show more popular than the Rogue One film? I tell you, there are many people that love Star Wars but never saw a single episode of Rebels (and never will).

Some ships we see only in the series, I get it. But the X-Wing is such an iconic ship form the movies and has many better options than another Hera.

This is not Rebels: The Miniatures Game.

I just want Hera in a B-wing.

Probably not, but that doesn't mean the Rebels well is dry. You are right, this isn't a Rebels game. And not even having Hera in an X-Wing will change that.

Better is a matter of opinion, and she has a known ability that would be awesome to play around with on something like an X-Wing.

actually, since we known Thrawn still had ties to the Chiss while in Imperial service, we might find out that he had the design of the Defender copied over to them.. so even if the Empire never used it fully because of the deathstars, a future product might see the Chiss deploying a "Mk.II Defender" or something..

No idea what you are talking about …

Oh I'd love to see them introduced in that way!

Spoilers for Thrawn book below:

What do we think about Thrawn offering the Ghost crew or specific members of it the same deal he gave to Nightswan? He's obviously looking to recruit talent for his people, and with the Bendu's prediction, he may be looking for more force aligned help.

I would love that.

Perhaps that is where the Phantom II is during Rogue One?

Reasons

I like Rebels, but honestly I think that it'd be better to use Rogue One, some of the novels (Legends or Disney canon- either way), and similar sources to crew any new X-wings or Y-wings we might eventually get.

My opinion on this is based on theme, essentially. The Spectres are of course closely tied to the Ghost and the Phantom, so it's only logical to use them heavily there, even to the point that some of them get used more than once.

However, the Ghost IS their ride. They may guest spot in X-wings, B-wings and Y-wings, but there are other pilots more exclusively tied to those ships.

Of course, FFG doesn't seem to care about properly matching ships to pilots, at this point. Otherwise, we'd have had Norra Wexley in a Y-wing, Shara Bey in and A-wing, and Thane Kyrell in an X-wing. Meanwhile, Rex and Ahsoka (due to Clone Wars roots, at least) would've been perfect choices for the ARC-170.

The Chiss Clawcraft is more proof that the EU is better off dead. There's an entire civilization out there in the Unknown Regions with a design philosphy that should be destinct and independent, but the most (only) recognizable vessel the EU produced for that culture is just a TIE with swoopy wings. I'm all for seeing more Chiss in Star Wars, their ships included, but not the Clawcraft so many people seem to be infatuated with. I understand the principle of blending technologies when two factions form an alliance, but the Clawcraft is the product of a lazy artist. Anyone with a box of spare parts can make uglies.

I sort've hope if Thrawn is killed its because of Krennic. Director Krennic is politically savvy and a conniving backstabber, the opposite of Thrawn who by the way is seemingly Tarkin's favorite admiral at the moment which means he could be a target in Krennic and Tarkin's war. Both Thrawn and Krennic are fighting for the same resources which also puts them in direct competition.

I so desperately want to see a meeting with Thrawn, Krennic, Tarkin, Vader, and the Emperor.

However i'm reading Krennic won't actually show up in Rebels so maybe that's just a pipe dream :(

I think we will see Krennic as Tarkin mentions Stardust to Thrawn, (latest season 4 Rebels trailer). if Thrawn survives season 4, the story path could be open to seeing more of the Chiss. Personally I don't Claw craft as I don't see them as uglies, (Though I'd like to see uglies in x wing for the Scum and Villiany). Think seaon 4 will be good for X wing. Hopefully we'll get more Mandalorian ships as a result, that can run as S&V or Empire or even possibly Rebs as well.

well, in the novels there were non-TIE based Clawcraft mentioned. (the TIE based ones were a version Thrawn made for The Empire of the Hand), but like all the other Chiss hardware, they were novel only and thus never got artwork. the TIE based Clawcraft only got art because they appeared on a few Covers.

Re: Rebels or Rogue One X-Wing Pilots

Why not both? I love both, so I'd love to have them all show up more in the games I play.

Well, no, that was nearly the exact opposite of what Krennic was. As seen in the movie. And demonstrated even further in the prequel novel 'Catalyst'.

What he was could be described as 'the best middle management'. He was very effective at getting talent, organizing it, and keeping the most massive of projects running smoothly - even if it involved keeping teams ostensibly 'all working together' completely in the dark about what they were doing. He did all that REALLY WELL. But every time it mattered to be 'politically savvy and a conniving backstabber', he utterly failed. He completely missed Galen Erso's betrayal, he never saw Tarkin's backstab coming, his only real attempt at defense that we saw was sniveling to Vader (and we saw how effective that was), etc.

(It's one of the reasons that Krennic is one of my favorite characters. He's not some cardboard-cutout 'good at everything evil, because he's evil, so he's good at all of that' like, say, Kylo Ren. He's very good at some things...which aren't necessarily evil, and very bad at doing some other things...which doesn't make him good. He's just...a person with many characteristics, strengths and weaknesses, put into an interesting position...and acts on his personal motivation as best he can.)
