STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

The Hobby/Wedge collision was dumb. The fact they're still in Phoenix squadron is interesting. I'm curious when and how they wind up on Yavin.

A) You have never seen me play T-65's without Vectored thrusters/BB-8. Collisons galore!

B) Someone has to make Phoenix squadron great...

C) Wedge in an A-wing? Yes please....

Wedges ability has decent synergy with two attack dice, though it is significant less powerful on two dice than on three, so pricing needed to be adjusted.

Of course. I wouldn't pay 29 points for a stock A-wing, even if it's wedge. Maybe 27. 26 would be nice, unless there going to adjust the pilot skill as well, it could be a little cheaper then.

Also inversely I hope we get Tycho in a X-wing. somewhere around 28 points.

Thrawn is playing Star Wars Rebellion.

Love the noise the combat droid made. Glad to see the Empire getting fewer and fewer qualms about using powerful droids in their operations. The Chimera had a chimera painted on it. Never noticed it before. Granted it was an odd spider-hydra chimera rather than the traditional snake-goat-lion, but still, galaxy far, far, away and all that.

Thrawn still out-Xanatos-ing his opponents, Chopper still made of 23K gold, Zeb getting mental development.

Oh. And now there are only 93 options left in the Rebel-Roulette base-killing game.

Soon.

I'm picking up some Arthurian vibes from the story animation in the Rebels recon.

"Whoso pryith this Darksaber from the rigored grasp of its former bearer is rightwise Mandalore born of all Mandolore."

- The Book of the Film, page 22.

Pablo gave out some info in the latest Rebels Recon:

1: Currently Rebels is 2 years prior to the events of Rogue 1.

2: When the Rebels encounter Saw Gerrera on Geonosis, it's 2 years after Jyn Urso left his group.

3: The queen egg KlikKlak is tending to is that of the queen in the Vader comics.

4: The captain of the Imperial Light Cruiser is not Rae Sloan.

Best way to handle Thrawn, let him win. Let him win and move on, assigned by the emperor elsewhere. Let Timothy Zahn kill him off in a novel, its his character. The ghost team leads an escape with whats left of Phoenix Squadron and eventually to Dantooine.

To let Thrawn lose at this point...with this much buildup would be eat my shoe levels of frustration. He's got to win and the rebels have to be left on a dire note.

This isnt for the sake of being edgy but this for keeping the story moving ever forward.

I don't know why everyone is so sour. I personally liked this episode. When the Droid activated and started kicking the **** out of Zeb, that felt like a truly dire moment. The Droid was actually scary to me. I do think the pacing had some issues, it never really gave us time to get into it. But seeing Zeb stuck with two grumpy droids was gold to me.

While it wasn't a perfect episode, it was still enjoyable to me.

The Droid gave me flashbacks of IG-88 from the Shadows of the Empire game for the Nintendo 64. IG-88 terrified me more than any other enemy in that game. The way he could leap around and come down behind you out of nowhere and flamethrower you to death, and that sound.......

Question is, who will the villain be next season if Thrawn is gone. I feel that with the focus shifting more to the Empire than the sith/dark side users I think Vader is pretty much gone for the rest of the series so I guess that means maybe Tarkin?

Bounty Hunters.

There's been a distinct lack of bounty hunters in Rebels so far. Despite them being a huge part of Star Wars.

If Thrawn hands the Rebels their asses this season and next season they are on the run, then it would make sense for bounty hunters to be chasing down the survivors.

And not just the obvious ones from ESB, but get some Cad Bane, or Embo in there. Yeah!

Well my thing is they sorta box themselves in with Tarkin, Vader, and Thrawn. Each of them are almost like historical figures. You have to portray them right or people will be irritated. You also have to keep them cool. So they should either create a new character as the primary Imperial Antagonist or start bringing more people from the EU that arent as adored.

Director Isard as intelligence would be a good foil and would fit trying to hunt down remaining cells.

Rae Sloane

Daala.

We could use a good female villain on this show.

As DarthEnder says Bounty Hunters would work. Show us the scum of the galaxy.

I would love both Isard and some Bounty Hunters. Filoni has always wanted to give us a showdown between Cad Bane and Boba Fett...

Nothing will ever be a scary as the control scheme of that game, though :P

I'd love to see some bounty hunters in action. Rae Sloane would be a fantastic addition as well. I'd also love to see more new Imperial faces like the Imperial captain we got in the mid-season premiere. The more new faces, the better.

Who thinks that Thrawn knows about Agent Kallus's true loyalties?

Also, Wedge in an A-Wing would make my year. With PTL and Swarm Leader he would flat out ruin stuff.

I like Boba Fett just as much as the nest guy, especially if Rebels makes him even better. But Cad Bane is just the best.

Didn't even think of the Bounty Hunters with the heavy Empire push, but yea if Thrawn utterly wrecks them that might be a great way to keep them on the run, and others have said great way to add Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Embo and the other ESB bounty hunters to the show.

It might even be cool to see some of them trying to find refuge with an Imperial in charge of a planet who is sympathetic to the Rebellion, that way we could have Mara Jade brought back into the canon as an agent sent out to go and investigate the Imperial there, doing the standard stuff like being under cover and then slipping in finding information and either going and reporting that back to the Emperor or just outright removing the Imperial in question to once more send the Rebels on the run once more.

Not Tarkin. Too much risk of conflict with the Tarkin and Catalyst novels.

It looked like he knows in the factory episode, but after this one I'm pretty sure he doesn't know or he is not completely sure - if not for Kallus the Rebel base would already be found.

Both of those take place years before Rebels.

Was literally my first thought at the end of the episode... now I want to play again

They really need to have a Rebels/Rogue One expansion

I'd really love to see Boba Fett coming along, claiming the Dark Saber, killing Sabine, Saxon and other rivals, destroying the Dark Saber and saying ''I'm Mandalore now. But I'm not in the mood for it. So go and become Bounty Hunters!''

Boba Fett is a loser.
