Plus, if you watched the pre-season trailers, you KNOW the holocron resurfaces.
STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!
Bendu talking in Ezra's head next episode: "Hey kid, I've got your holocron. You can have it back for a bag of jelly babies. And if anyone asks where you got it... Who knows..."
My opinion (and I would bet many many others), but they all have to die...Ezra, Kanaan, Maul, Ashoka, or Star Wars is broken. Period.
I'm sure people were saying the same thing about Ahsoka during The Clone Wars. She lived through that and Star Wars didn't break.
I will be surprized if Kanan and Maul survive the show, but I don't think they will all die. And I trust the creative team to make it work.
Why this thread is in the main forum of X-Wing TMG? It should be in the off-topic section. Can someone explain it to me?
Otherwise we risk that those forums will descend into total chaos - I don't care about this animation, and this forum should be strictly about game, not this series.
You DO realise that this thread is almost 2 years old,and its entirely possible that there wasn't an Off-Topic section back then>?
(So, I just went and Checked, and the OFF TOPIC section was barely 1 month old when this was created, so not everyone would have even been up to scratch with that...)
I mean, Imperial Assault still doesn't have one of their own.

Because it has been for ages, the series serves as source for the game as demonstrated with all recent waves and most importantly because FFG doesn't moderate the forum beyond "are they talking about politics again?". This has never been a very orderly forum and to be honest that what makes it more enjoyable to many of us.

It'd be cool if the mods could just move this over. I'm pretty sure they have that capability as they've done that with the painting threads.
Edited by RogueLieutenantMany have found that posting in some of the sub-threads diminish the responses and views you get. Some threads will just die. Sure if we moved everything there it might be better but. Who knows people may just stop at the main thread as many do.

Eh - how is this really off-topic?
Just about every page on this thread has at least some discussion of "do you think that new crew/new ship/new upgrade from last night's episode will make it into the game - and if so, how?"
I used to think that
The Clone Wars
bringing Darth Maul back was the stupidest thing to happen in modern Star Wars story-telling.
...but then
Star Wars Rebels
went ahead and brought him back
again
, thus claiming the title for dumbest thing in modern Star Wars.
Well, okay okay, second dumbest. Those helicopter inquisitor-lightsabers are a whole new level of silly.

Probably half of the first page right now belongs to either X-Wing Battle Reports, X-Wing Off-Topic, X-Wing Squad List or X-Wing Rules Questions.

I disagree here. Ahsoka being in Rebels doesn't break anything. It's still pre-Episode IV. There are plenty of stories about surviving jedi after the Clone Wars... but the consensus in the in the galaxy is that they're all dead by A New Hope. Both Obi-Wan and Yoda are in hiding, and having this batch of head-strong, force parading rebels survive goes against the powerful subtext of the original trilogy.

Eh, Maul being axed of after something like 3 sentences is one of the stupidest things ever. Bringing him back from the dead was a terrible contrivance, but in my opinion worth it since his stories were pretty good and the opportunity was taken to finaly put a character behind one of the best character designs in the prequels. Bringing him back in Rebels is good, since his story ended pretty much nowhere and he was great at pushing Ezra into the dark side. Ignoring Helisabers that finale was my favourite episode so far.
He isn't going anywhere, he got promoted: https://io9.gizmodo.com/clone-wars-and-rebels-dave-filoni-is-now-in-charge-of-a-1787134065Where would Filoni go? He's worked for Lucasfilm for over 10 years and was personally tutored by George Lucas. If anyone knows what Star Wars is and how to do it, it's Dave Filoni.
awesome, more projects in the works.
Ok, this is awesome. He gets to still craft the narrative, while working on multiple shows! they must already be working on a new project then....
Notice how they made the same REBS in their set, that I made in mine... just say'n.
We needs these.... don't we gang?!
YES!
My husband and I sat there with open mouths. "He's not manipulating the walker... he's manipulating the person operating it... oh man, that's...not of the Jedi."
Although remember that
Luke force-choked a couple of Jabba's guards
. Not exactly using the Force for knowledge and defense there.

There are some theories that Luke had turned to the dark side by that point, and it's only Vader's sacrifice that redeemed him. quite like that idea.
My opinion (and I would bet many many others), but they all have to die...Ezra, Kanaan, Maul, Ashoka, or Star Wars is broken. Period.
Why? Because Yoda said that Luke was the last of the Jedi?
Even setting aside the idea that Yoda and Obi-Wan weren't training Luke as a Jedi, but as a weapon against Darth Vader (that I find compelling; Jedi DO lie when it's not selfish from their point of view), Ahsoka had turned (been ejected) from the Order, Kanan got his rank of Jedi Knight from a temple vision involving a known traitor and his story isn't finished yet, and we don't know what happens to Ezra.
The outstanding line to me from this episode is from Governor Pryce:
"They fight so hard to gain so little."
The Imperials simply do not understand why the Rebels fight. They risk their lives and freedom every time they go against the vastly overwhelming might of the Empire, and for what? A few old Y-Wings without hyperdrives? Getting food to starving miners? To say a few words about how suicidal they are across the HoloNet? There's no gain in it, no profit, no long retirement sipping martinis while watching the ocean wash across Corellia's shores, so what's the point?
And that illustrates how the Empire=Dark Side=Selfish. The dedicated Imperials, the ones that aren't even tempted to join the Alliance, are in it for their own gain and nothing more. Oh, they may mouth platitudes about protecting the people or serving a greater good, but the ones that actually DO feel that way eventually realize they're on the wrong side and move over to the Rebellion.

That reminds me - I assume everyone noticed in that episode that...
Agent Kallus's, like, only line was him blatantly criticizing an action of the Empire.
That can't be an accident.
