After watching the season 3 trailer a few weeks ago, I pray every day for the Assault Gunboat to appear in Rebels.

Is Amazon going to carry season 3? I keep wanting to order the season, but either it isn't available yet, won't be there at all, or I am just looking in the wrong place. If anyone has a way to watch (not on regular tv) please help so I don't miss out!

It's never on iTunes, either, until literally the first day of availability (IE., day after the episode airs on TV).

No idea why - guess pre-orders don't really matter as much when there is no physical content you need to worry about supply and distribution of?

yesterday was "talk like a pirate day", if you want to watch them not on TV, you might need to define your own "act like a pirate" day.

Yaaarrr!

The art style makes ships in this show look so out of place compared to everything else we've seen. Just look at the Ghost and Lancer next to the other large ships. The Phantom went from a Star Trek shuttlecraft to... whatever that is.

That said, I like that things are changing in this show. There are consequences and attrition, and there's the expectation that the cast will either die or turn by the time the show reaches Ep. 4's time frame.

It seems to be smaller than the Sheathipede, but it is very similar.

I wonder if more Separatist tech will end up in Rebel hands, with all those battledroids in the trailers it seems plausible.

I guess that could be our mysterious SWX58?

Sort of hope not - the Rebels really don't need another ship (they are already ahead of the Empire, and considerably ahead of Scum, in ship releases). But it would explain why FFG couldn't release details of it - still considered a spoiler.

I love that REBELS has a partial focus on vehicle tech. They've spent a lot of time looking for / dealing with / stealing new ships for their arsenal, and based on the trailer for the next season this isn't a trend that is going to stop. Anything is possible with this show. I just wish I had some way to watch it this weekend.

I don't think it is. Rebels don't have a big selection of ships for future waves (Exhibit A: Sabine's TIE ), I don't think they'd add a decent "wave candidate" to a wave that already has two Rebel expansions.

I personnaly don't like the original phantom. It just seemed like it was designed off a kid's toy. just shove all the figures into the giant door on the back, fire the Giant Laser guns on the front. there's even a droid spot for chopper! Then again, this is Star Wars, THE toy franchise.

I always kinda liked it for that reason. It was charmingly toyetic.

What I never liked was that I could not for the life of me figure out where all the important internals were.

There was no slot for chopper at the start :P

But yeah, original Phantom looked like something out of TFA when detached, both in the uninspired boxy aesthetics and the complete disregard for the logic when it comes to managing internal space, although i didn't mind it when it was attached, it just fits . The new one looks a bit strange when docked:

I really wanted the Quarrie upgrade version from "Wings of the Master" but I figure FFG won't be releasing the "in-between" Phantom (with Droid slot and different engines) now that this Phantom II is a thing.

They beefed up the engines to show that, but what I can't figure out is where the capacitor and fuel is.

Practically all TIEs fall into this category.

I mean, I dunno. I suppose?

Well they didn't until 'Rebels' had 3 people in a cockpit of one. The huge block in the back was supposed to be where the reactor was - the size of a pilot, after all, being relatively small compared to the overall size of a TIE Fighter (I mean - those solar panels, tho!)
