STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

What makes you think that was Yavin?

Because this:

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/starwarsrebels/images/9/96/The_Forgotten_Droid_11.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160303222247

looks like this:

I did see where it is being referenced as Atollon. :/ Would have been cool to establish Yavin, seeing they know Leia and all.

edit-- BTW, how do I post images? I keep getting an error message.

Just cut out everything behind .jpg and it should work.

I'll admit, those two do look the same.

What eMeM said. If you're trying to post images from wiki you have to take all the stuff after the .jpg off.

Can I say how great it is that Chopper's new best friend is an homage to Alan Rickman? Cuz it's just swell.

Did anyone notice is the episode before that last (Forgotten Droid) that the Shuttle docked forward rather than backward?

[Edit: The guns retracted during docking as well, I wish they would pick a proper way to use some and quit with the plot devices. If this is what it is]

It's done that in multiple episodes. Check season 1.

They rarely dock it the "normal" way.

Don't worry about it, the shuttle operates on magic anyway :P

I assume you're talking about the Phantom. The creators stated that it can dock both ways. The door on the back can connect to the Ghost (The way it's normally seen), or the passengers can enter from a hatch on the bottom should the door be inaccessible (in space).

Now what I don't understand is how Zeb aims and fights with the thing still docked.

The guns on the Phantom have a limited, flexible turn radius. Which gives the ship a 90° forward firing arc (This would be similar to the tail gunner position on a B-17 bomber). The Phantom is designed to either land in a hangerbay and use the rear door or to lie across a docking port with its ventral hatch to board a ship (similar to how the A-wings were connecting to the CR90s)

You sir, you pay attention. +1 to you.

Well, ****.

Oh good. Star Wars has Zepplin.

Just Zeb, sitting back, drinking beer and rockin' out, man. Like he's Brock ******* Samson.

Well, ****.

After a scene like that you can be sure something bad is going to happen to either or both of them.

Calling it now: Ezra goes to the Dark Side for a while and Kallus goes full Piccolo and helps them find him.

First I haven't see the episode. Second I'm not upset at the spoilers since it came out on TV last night (as opposed to streaming several days early).

So we're good.

Not having seen the episode I'm talking from a rather limited knowledge base. But I was reading a blog somewhere, I can't seem to find it again, and he was very disappointed.

He described Chopper as mean and nasty, very self-centered, etc. Also that he goes off for his own purposes leaving the lives of his crew in the balance. The blogger goes on to compare R2-D2 and Anikin's relationship and best friends going beyond what other's realize to Chopper's constant complaining, snarky comments and being only self-serving?

I'm sharing what someone else wrote so please don't get 'all up in my face'.

Rather I'm asking if anyone else sees this is are they way off the mark. Unfortunately I won't be able to watch any Rebels for at least another week. :(

The cast of Star Wars: Rebels is a family. Chopper is like the cantankerous grandpa war veteran of the group: doesn't want to accept he isn't in charge any more, isn't afraid to express his emotions, but has knowledge and abilities that the other members don't - and he IS a part of the family. Real families don't kick annoying members out just because they're annoying.

And what's more, he actually DOES know when they need him or don't, and comes through when they do. He WAS right about Hera not needing him on overwatch in the mission!

You're close.

The show runners once mentioned that R2-D2 is the loyal, reliable family dog. He's always there for you and everyone loves him.

But Chopper?

Chopper's the family cat.

Oh good. Star Wars has Zepplin.

? Huh

Led Zeppelin, a famous rock band from the late 60's to mid 70's. I will say that Zeb does have good taste in music judging by that clip.

Watched the Mysteries of Chopper Base last night.

Seems like the calm before the storm. And it wasn't too calm.

I'd also would like to have one of those snail critters for a pet. I'd name it Gary. :)

I am giving it my all to watch Rebels and like it. I even make up excuses for it when certain things happen. At first, I super dug it since I got to see AT-ATs, Stormtroopers, Original Chewbacca (Zeb) and Original 3PO in the backrounds... So much love for the series, but that nostalgia all started to list to the right and veer off course towards a mask and bandaid with this 2nd season.

I mean... The first season was alright-ish. In the game world, twas the first act that gave us the overarching story, the characters and bad guys. 2nd season is very much like the 2nd act of a game, where we get to actually talk and explore our companions backstories and even our enemies. Which in this context, is kinda coolio. Meaning we get to see a bunch of new areas, new weapons, armor, characters and mechanics. Except that's not what happened. All 5 individual character story arcs are exactly the same. As in, each beat is exactly the same:

The rebels are given a mission.
One of them meet a person related to their past. Ezra-Tseebo, Zeb-Chava, Here-Cham, Kanan-Fenn, Sabine-Ketsu and (my favorite) Chopper-Original Leg Replacement.
That person or thing related to their past derails the mission.
Then our rebels are forced into a dilemma between the mission and the person.
Then that person ends up being the key to both the mission and the rebels personal strife.
Then role credits.

Like...COME ON!!!

After the first 4 I realized the pattern and just rolled my eyes. No wonder after even the first two I bored out of my goard since I could already follow the pre-rehearsed beats to their natural conclusion. Twas just the finite deets that maketh said episode somewhat distinct from one another.

P.S. While in rant mode. I used to like the lightsaber because it was closer to the original movie called 'Star Wars' now 'A New Hope' when Obi-Wan and Vader faced off. Now... It sucks and looks stupid. It's sooo unique nothing else in the movies, games, comics or otherwise looks like them.

Dubya Tee Eff Dave Faloni?

Those spiders are totally hermit crab spiders. The little cute ones immune to the sensors turn into the big ones.

And they burrow... I've seen that movie before. And I liked it.

I don't like the idea od spiders surviving 5 red dice to the face. And what the hell, how did they open the airlock?

Overall, this episode was rather boring. It is obviously setting up the stage for the finale, but foreshadowings and farewells is all it has to offer.

Yet another Phoenix left behind...

I thought this episode was a bit lackluster and felt kind of rushed. The whole 'transmitters keep the creatures away' thing seemed just a tad convenient for the sake of convenience, and I don't think they ever stated why, it was just because the story called for it.

And really? Two competent force users managed to overshoot their target by as much as they did? I will admit, I couldn't help but just laugh at how stupid of a way to die that could have been.

I feel like this was the weakest episode of the season next to Blood Sisters.
