That speculation is up there with Sabine and Ezra being Rey's parents.
STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!
I've heard Chopper is Snoke.
I wonder what will become of Ezra. They basically said he will fall to the dark side... There are some speculations he will be the main villain in episode Vlll (played by Benicio del Torro).
that is so far fetched....
Given the nature of the show the chances of Ezra staying dark side are quite low.
True, It is pretty far fetched and perhaps it doesnt fit the nature of the show. But the writers will have my eternal respect if they have the balls to let this show not end well, e.g. the dark side prevailing or Ezra turning dark a la Anakin but without redemption, or Chopper blowing up the ship and killing all the main characters.
But it probably will end well

Or they could always just end it, like Clone Wars, or FireFly or Sopranos. (Which would just suck) However, it IS in Disney's hands now and not King Lucas'.
I can't really see the show 'ending well'. Sure it's not as set on a path of doom and gloom as The Clone Wars was, but its still got to end by removing the Jedi from the scene (by killing them or sending them into hiding) and they fundamentally cannot win against the empire... unless the show runs long and ends up continuing parallel to the origional trillogy somehow (if they do that and don't make it cannon that Rex is on Endor, ill be very disappointed). Hell they can't even stop the Death Star from being finished (I mention this due to the hints and references which have cropped up across the show and the end of TCW which might point to the death star being in the future of the series at some point).
So the heros can't defeat the big bad, they cant stop their super weapon, and they have to be removed from the limelight before the Rebel Alliance really pulls together and becomes a military force rather than scattered cells. How?
Perhaps they liberate Lothal and it becomes the first rebel occupied planet... but then wouldnt the Death Star have an obvious first target?
Perhaps their big victory will be destroying the inquisition?.. but then rumour has it that Rogue One will feature some red lightsabre weilder other than Vader, so how big of a victory could it be?

that would be awesome

Why must their victory be of galactic importance? And why can't they stay their own Rebel cell. Heck, canon has already said not everyone was at Endor.
One thing that irked me was the Grand Inquisitor himself, I mean it being the force and all it could be interpreted in a bunch of ways, but what was that, a memory, a force ghost, a vision that both the inquisitors and Jedi had? Was it Yoda, Was it the Inquisitors spirit itself - I don't recall him redeeming himself...
I never bought in to the whole "died as a jedi when became sith" BS...
I did like how the ep removed any trace of any doubt that Ahsoka knew Vader was once Anakin.
Edited by DariusAPBI interpreted the scene with the Inquisiter as a vision Kanan was having, and the force used the Inquisiter as the messenger for the vision. He wasn't really there, just Kanans memory of him.

The visions were all crafted by Yoda according to Rebels Recon, or at least Kanan and Ezra's were. Ahsoka's attacked her with doubt and thus I doubt that was a Yoda one.
Or maybe she needed to find peace with her decision, and that was Yodas way of doing it.
Or it was the force acting as a mirror for her own mind.
So open to interpretation.

I'd agree with that, especially as the force is a religion.
In my never humble opinion, trying to demystify the force with midichlorians was the single biggest mistake of the prequels. It should be mystical, almost unknowable.

The galaxy is a rather huge place and not every rebel cell was at Yavin. Also the Empire didn't end at Yavin, so they could take the show all the way to Endor if they wanted.
Also there's no reason to remove all the Jedi, that line from Obi-Wan could mean a lot of things, or he could simply be wrong. So having other Jedi wouldn't actually ruin continuity.
This whole 'the show has to end a given way' is simply short sighted and not even remotely true. There's a ton of things they can do with the show past Yavin if they so choose, and things that wouldn't change the movie in the least.

The heroes don't need to defeat the big bad, which is Vader really. They don't need to stop the super weapon. But that doesn't mean they can't have major victories that help set up Yavin or even Endor. The movies showed a very, very small part of what happened in the galaxy.
Edited by VanorDMLikewise, the Rebels in Rebels could have their own big bad, their own trials and tribulations and their own perspectives.
So many people are waiting for Ahsoka's duel with Vader... and I'm over here far more concerned with Ezra's eventual Duel with Kanan.
I'm probably going to cry.
I didn't take Kannan's vision as a certainty that Ezra would turn to evil. It was a vision crafted for Kannan to think about things and see how he would react. It was really more of a test on him as a mentor. He can't control everything for Ezra and in the end, he just let go and said he can only teach him as best he can.
I also took it with the Inquisitor that it wasn't really his spirit. Images and people have meaning to a single individual that are based on their experiences. So, using an image that Kannan is familiar with is really how I see it. Also, it does downplay the whole fight aspect of Yoda's message as it can show how one can turn to the Dark Side.

Yeesh, so Ezra gets even uglier? What is WRONG with these people?
Naw, but seriously, I don't think they said that. All Jedi go through these crisis of faith moments, in part because it's good TV. Ezra's not emotionally unstable enough to slide into sithdom, which seems to be the prerequisite (for that matter, neither is Kanan). If you'll notice, Anakin had major anger issues to the point of being the SW equivalent of the Hulk. The more you pissed him off, the more powerful he got. Ezra.... not so much. He tends to cool down rapidly, and is generally a nice, stable kid.
Who looks like a goat.
E and K are both at risk for just plain martyrdom, K more than E. E is much, much better at saving his own butt. If I were a writer and wanted to turn the series on its ear, I'd have K sacrifice himself for the greater good, and Hera after him. That'll shake the kids up enough to move them into adulthood.
Ahsoka? Yeah, she's history. Don't get too attached to her. Vader's going to try to turn her, then when he can't, he'll punch her ticket. It'll probably buy the Gang time to escape Certain Doom.
What I want to know is, where is Ventress? She's the real wild card, being a Sith burned by the Sith. If she shows up and does something awesome I'll be a happy camper. Ditto Cad Bane.
I think it's going to end in a certain way, it's like watching the Prequels (Although much more enjoyable), You know Anakin is going to turn into a murderous cyborg and Palpatine is going to be the Sith, it's all about how it gets to that point that makes it worth it.

Pretty sure Ventress died in a book or somthing.

Isn't Vos still alive though?
it's like watching the Prequels
There's no reason it needs to end like the prequels did. Those had to end with certain events happening and certain things happening to certain characters.
Because those same characters were featured in ANH and the other OT movies. So their fate was already determined.
The same is not true of the crew in Rebels. We don't actually know what happens to them, only that they weren't featured on screen in any of the movies. They could've actually been at Endor just not part of Solo's team that went to the surface.
So there is no real need for the show to end any given way. Which IMO anyway, makes it way more enjoyable because we don't know. TCW was a fun show but at least in parts it was completely pointless because we already knew what was going to happen.
