STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

I have heard this as well, R2-D2 is the person telling the tale: "A Long time ago...." However, I cannot find where this is written? Wookepidia, Wikipedia, Starwars.com

Does anyone know where it states this about R2?

I've heard this as well, though purely as a fan theory. It actually makes a lot of sense, and helps explain a lot of the crap from the prequels. After all, he got seriously messed up on a regular basis during Episodes 4-6, up to and including taking a pair of heavy anti-ship lasers TO THE FACE, so I'm certain his memories are more than a little fragmented in spots. Add to that the fact that he would have had to piece together bits he wasn't present for from secondary sources and a fair bit of editorializing(clearly, he thought Jar-Jar was an *******), and we've got the conclusion that overall events happened the way he described, but a lot of the weirder details may simply be figments from the mind of a really old laser-addled droid.

This I REALLY want to believe...! It would also help make a retcpn of the prequels possible. Please, make it happy, Disney..!

His prediction is nearly true though.... We kinda know Ezra is going to turn to the dark side since the spoiled Maul becoming his master back in January...

Speaking of which they really need to stop spoiling the entire season in one huge teaser.

He simply said, "Call me... Old Master..."

That doesn't mean "lol you can call me your old master".

Regardless weather he said Old, Cold, Bold, or Gold.... he also said Master. No matter which way you slice it, Maul is going to seduce and convert Ezra to the dark side. AND it's extremely likely that Revan will be involved. (Sith holocron, Revan Action Figure, AND Dave Filoni talking about the script he had already done for Revan, and how he likes to go back and bring unfinished stuff back in Rebels). So a combination of Maul and Revan will be the force behind making Ezra evil. Sabine will die, Ezra will be broken hearted, cementing his fall from the light. In her honor, Ezra will form the knights of Wren (Which someone will mis-spell eventually and drop the W). Ezra will end the show by killing Kanan.

And I gathered all that from the darned mid season teaser which showed you basically the entire plot for the whole season. (and a compilation of fan theories). Rubbish!

Right, because when the obviously evil dude tells you to call him Master, there are no other options besides saying yes...

but.. but... Ezra's a good guy !

just kidding this theory is awesome.

Unfortunately for the the rebels none of them are Skywalkers or Solo's so their story is going to be largely self contained. They might make an appearance in some of the spin offs that Disney produces but they aren't going to do anything substantial to the main plot line like creating the Knights of Ren.

Is that your assumption or was there an official statement on this? To me it seems like a good opportunity to get in some more ST hype between 7 and 8.

Filoni has pretty much said that they aren't likely to appear in post-Rebels material until after he has finished the show. So, the sequel trilogy is out.

Well that settles the question about what class of Noble Warriors inspired The Jedi, huh?

He sounds like the Grand Inquisitor..... and he has the ear disks to.

He's voiced by Jason Isaacs, his movements and poses are very similar to the Grand Inquisitor's, and his Temple Guard outfit is basically a palette swap of the Grand Inquisitor's. Preeeetty sure this is a Force vision that Kanan is having, and it's of the Grand Inquisitor's time as a Temple Guard.

I like where this is going....

I agree. From the previews of this episode, it looks like it'll be quite full of action.

I'd be sad if Sabine dies, but I'd at the same time appreciate it. It's a war. In war people die, in a kids show that should be a made point.

Have you ever seen Episode 3? :P

So..... are you suggesting that the only way someone could create the knights of ren, is if their last name was either Solo or Skywalker? Or for that matter, only Solos and Skywalkers are able to do something significant to the plot? I'm pretty sure The Force Awakens film completely shatters this idea, considering Finn, Snoke, Phasma, Hux, and many more people of significance, were not named Skywalker or Solo.

sure, Chopper can die.

The characters themselves yes, but aspects of the story may play into the ST. I don't think it is entirely unreasonable to hope that we are about to see the roots of the knights of Ren. I have avoided trailers, though.

I'd rather Sabine die than Chopper...

But Sabine is REY'S MOTHER!!!

The entire Star Wars franchise hinges around Skywalkers. They drive the plot points, they are present in every major event. Other characters can certainly accomplish things but all of the big things are done by one or two families. That's just how Space Operas work. Rey is either going to be a Solo or Skywalker so that would make Finn her Chewbacca. Snoke and Hux are villains and Phasma did nothing. The knights of ren might have been a thing before Kylo fell but to think that they'd be based off of A currently underdeveloped character relationship is just silly.

Or for that matter, only Solos and Skywalkers are able to do something significant to the plot?

No, but the story has always focused on the Skywalker line, which naturally includes Leia's son.

Sabine Wren is too much creators pet to die...! Not gonna happen, sadly...!

Sabine Wren is too much creators pet to die...! Not gonna happen, sadly...!

It really depends where they want to go with this.

Sometimes a heroic death can mean more than a heroic life.

I'm not convinced one way or another with Sabine.

Zeb on the other hand.

Bets on Zeb Dying and that being a catalyst for Kallus to join the Rebels?

Depends. Is he armed? Then tell him whatever he wants to hear.

SACRILEGE!

What I want to know is where that construction project has gone and how this will will tie in with Rogue One?

The construction project was obviously the first Death Star. It's already been stated in other sources that the Death Star was built in orbit around Geonosis. And the fact that the Geonosians are all dead implies that they finished building it.

I smell cover up. How could a proton torpedo blow up a whole death star!?

Have you ever seen Episode 3?

I have. But Ezra isn't half as *****y a character or person as Anakin.

Just seen this weeks episode, gives some nice character moments for Ezra, Kanan and ahsoka. Big lead up for future happenings too, also confirmation of the grand inquisitors identity which a lot of people have kind of guessed at already.

Not to mention a personal moment of vindication for me over the state of the jedi order during the clone wars from yoda himself.

Finally chopper it seems has a rather large sense of self preservation which fits him well :P

Really good episode, and the next ones, well, there haven't been any previews yet, but you can't go wrong with KotOR 2 material!

I know KOTOR was debatable cannon even in the EU, and as Legends only the bits they choose to be cannon will be.... but who else is wondering if Malachor will still be whole rather than an asteroid field, thus implying that the Evil ending of KOTOR is the correct one? :P
