Vader comics, yes, it was mentioned. Not quite sure about Tarkin.
STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!
It's mentioned in Tarkin what the imperials did as well as mentions in detail the building of the Death Star over Geonosis
The thought keeps coming up that the fates of Ezra, Kanan and Ashoka are sealed. And it's sealed in a bad way. After all, Vader and Yoda both know about the Lothal Rebel Cell.
But maybe not so fast. Because another thought occurred. And that they're in cells for a reason.
In a Galaxy of millions of member planets, the number of Rebel cells may be equally unfathomable.
Of course the movies only show the most famous and most successful of these Rebel cells.
But how awesome would it be to have a scene where Yoda and Obi-Wan tell Ezra, Kanan and Ahsoka that they are the last of the Jedi. And then we cut to another scene, with Yoda and Obi-wan talking to another Jedi in another Rebel cell, telling them that they are the last of Jedi. And then to another cell and another cell.
Isn't this the type of disinformation that needs planted into every members of every Rebel cells, to protect the rest of the Rebellion, if they are ever captured and interrogated?
So is radiation not a thing in Star Wars? That people are willing to use strange glowing green rocks as nightlights and not be concerned that they might be poisonous?
At the end, where did Agent Kallus' gun splint get to?
Well, it's a makeshift splint made out of a GUN. I assume he put it in the armory and went to get actual medical attention.
In a world where people run around with laser swords of a determined length and move things with their mind as a moon sized object contains the power to destroy a planet, I think glowing rocks cause little concern, even if they make a force-toned ring when they are first noticed.
I think this rock has more to it though, It seems like it's going to come into play in the story somehow.
At the end, where did Agent Kallus' gun splint get to? His room needs posters on the wall. So sad, poor guy.
At least the rock is his first personal display item which brings a little bit of light and warmth into his dark standardized chamber. I really liked the visual message of this last scene - and the last shot especially...!
That episode was so good I was almost late to work. I usually half-way watch new Rebels while getting my kids up, fed and dressed in the morning. Then I watch it for real at night. This morning I couldn't pull myself away.
That last shot!

No doubt.
At first, I thought it was an egg for one of those creatures and it was going to play into this episode. But when it didn't, it seems like setup for something else now.

It also keeps him from being eaten by a Grue.

God, Phoenix Squadron is just...the worst.
Right? Seriously, god ****.
Speaking of Phoenix squad, caught the episode with the carrier.
And, wow, again? WTF were they doing to Hera's bomber? They just about blew the thing to pieces! That WOULD have been pretty convincing!
"I said ACROSS her nose, not UP it!"
I've now got an entirely different visual for Phoenix squadron pilots...
"I'm sorry, sir, I'm trying my best...."
Kallus has the saddest personal quarter's imaginable
Just needs some miserable rendition of mad world or something

You have to wonder; is that a commentary solely on how empty the Empire is for Kallus, or is there a bit of Kallus's personal life in there as well?

(Though to be fair, for ship-board quarters on a vessel of over 1200 people these are nice. He doesn't have to share with the other officers, has his own sink and bathroom. Add a potted plant, a chair, and a coffee table and they'd be approaching luxuriant.)
Edited by OneKelvinI feel like that isn't where Kallus LIVES, It's not like it's his personnel Star Destroyer or anything.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Kallus defecting later on in the season...

I hope somthing really big happens first. You can't just have an instant side-swap. Maybe something like Prince Zuko in Avatar.
I never thought I'd say it, but I'm also for Kallus joining The Rebellion at some point.

Not sure he'd be successful, even if he wanted to.
Consider Minister Maketh Tua.

Likewise.
He rides in a different ship in pretty much every episode it seems. Do people really expect him to redecorate new quarters every week?

I think It would be fitting for Kallus's "Honorable Warrior" type to Have an epic sacrifical death trying to help the rebels. If He does try to defect, there's a slim chance he will be sucessful.
That was a great ep. I can see Kallus defecting, and I can see him being successful (Remember WHY Tua...).

But that's sort of the point isnt it. He's given up himself for the Empire. He doesn't have a personal life, he just has his duty and a long list of assignements.
And now we see him back aboard a friendly ship, having just left medical (persumably without anyone visiting him to ask how he is), while still heavily limping and in pain he bumps into one of his long term co workers, and the man doesnt even ask if he's okay or welcome him back.
Kallus has given his life for the Empire, and has just realised how indifferent the Empire is in return.
Personally though I'm not sure about the possibility of him deffecting. I realise that sympathetic imperials don't tend to last very long (Needa for example), and I would hate to see one of the best (though sometimes terribly inconsistent) characters in the show die just to "make an example", but I think the Empire needs more depth in rebels. Killing off one of the few Impreials they have with any development is not the way to increase that.

Huh, that's funny... I was actually skipping through it because it was so bloody boring and cliché.
I actually thought to myself that I should go on here and ask if anyone has ever actually felt engaged and excited by any of these episodes.
I guess you answered my question.

There's a reason Prototype Pilot is PS1...

I expected to hate it. Are there many scifi tv shows which havent done an "enemy mine" episode at some point? And most of those episodes are aweful.... But I actually enjoyed it.. possibly because it was just such a change to see Kallus screaming in pain rather than beins stoic, or doing his whole Ahab blood lust thing. Possibly just nice to see things from an imperial perspective for once.
Gotta admit though... Ive liked Kallus for a while, and his "Let them go... To their destruction, Let them go... I will watch them be destroyed", with that swelling music after watching his ties torn appart, and the front of his ARGHKITTENS!! peeling, really saved that Lasat/Starcluser episode from being a complete wash and turned it into something awesome.
