Maul is sadly probably the worst thing that remains in the EU.
STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!
If you guys haven't read Dark Disciple you're really missing out. I didn't love her in TCW, but that book made her on of my top 3 Star Wars characters. It also adds some new abilities to the new canon.
Edited by TasteTheRainbowInterestingly enough, Vos is not confirmed dead yet.
I'm probably going to get slandered for this, but...
Snoke is Maul.

In all seriousness, Maul is surprisingly presistant for a character who died in the first movie. Not seen the Clone Wars though.

True. The last reference to him was in Revenge of the Sith, wasn't it? " Saleucami has fallen, and Master Vos has moved his troops to Boz Pity. " And if anyone could avoid being killed by his clones, it might just be ol' Quinlan.

Oh I hope not, I hope Maul either turns to the Dark side, or has a seriosuly Epic death.
Sounded fine to be, but James Earl Jones has gotten some criticisms for how he sounded.
Aye, people forget that he's really getting on now, like Chewie is getting on. He just doesn't have the same strength of voice anymore. It's the same with Gandalf in the Hobbit Movies, he's much more softer spoken than he was in LOTR's.

There was definitely an old canon comic arc where he escaped Order 66 and went to live with his secret wife and daughter on Nar Shaddar.
I shall have to track down this Ventriss book, I really liked her in Clone Wars.

I dunno, actually. It has a certain pleasing symmetry to it. The first villain in the saga returning in the third trilogy. I don't think at all that it'll happen, but I don't hate it.

Plagueis fits that role better, IMO if you're going for that sort of thing.
(Vader Voice) She is rebel spy!
Next Epic ship for X-wing?... whatever the Hell those were in the preview.
Question is - what faction? Leia is an Imperial Senator in this episode, apparently sympathetic to the Rebels (per the preview clip), but the ships she's flying in on would be...what? SURELY not Rebel, they are crawling with Storm Troopers. Don't look even remotely Imperial, but that'd be the closest match.
Unfortunately, they feel a bit like an awesome design without a home. Perfect scale for an Epic in the game, but...no openings for it.
...so Rebels.
Leia , of course, absolutely and unquestionably Rebels. Even at this point, no doubt.
The *ships* she was flying? From what we saw, even in that clip, she seemed to have fairly low trust in what her compatriots would do if they saw Ezra and Kanan out of disguise. So I don't think it'd be fair to call them 'Rebel'.
Truly, it makes the most sense to call them 'Imperial', and I wouldn't mind that - they are dead sexy ships, but...they don't kinda fit.
actually from her dialog, i don't think she distrusted the ship crews.. rather she was concerned about the fact she'd had to land at an imperial held port, and she now had two of the Empire's most wanted with faces in plain view..

I would disagree with that, because Plagueis was never a villain in the Star Wars saga as we've seen it. By the time the story starts in 'The Phantom Menace', he's (presumably) already dead and gone, and he is referenced precisely once in the movies. And okay, yes, he's quite possibly Anakin's "father" through the Force (though, arguably, that could have been Sidious, and it fits better with the Sidious/Vader arc if that is the case, as he becomes Anakin's father figure and so on). The Plagueis thing has been blown out of proportion, I think, possibly in part by the (admittedly rather good) Legends novel, but within the canon as it stands, I think would be too far to really work.
( Disclaimer: I'm applying the same story logic to this that I would with something I edit or, indeed, write. But while I am a professional editor and writer, I'm not necessarily very good...)

Those definitely aren't Imperial.
And they have different armor plating. Sort of similar to FO plating.

I know the color makes it look non-imperial but is that the only thing?
The plating looks fairly close to me, at least as depicted in Rebels. Will look for non-repainted version.

Seeing as Ezra's cutting them up, they've got to be Imperial. Maybe it's camo, or perhaps they're prototypes and they were out of Imperial Grey that day...

Or maybe the Empire has started working with another group, sharing technology, and this will eventually lead to the Chiss Clawcraft. I'd buy that if they were white plated, I suppose.

Another suggestion I saw is the temple guard looking guys stole them and felt they liked their peripheral vision.

Could be TIE fighters that academy students train on, maybe as some follow up to that missing sister from season 1.
Those TIE fighters could be what would have been the next Jedi Starfighter, after the Eta-2 actis class. Never put in full production.
