STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

I personally think that the show got serious once the Inquisitor himself turned up (Season 1, Episode 5) and we could see a hologramm of a morally and emotionally broken Luminara Unduli walking to her execution chamber (and her frozen corpse thereafter).

That may be the point when the series got darker, but it's not the point where it actually got good.

Growing the beard is about quality, not tone.

And that, dear sir, is a matter of subjective, personal opinion only, not a dogma decided by an entitled individual upon others.

I guess this show will be considered kiddie until the Stormtroopers act a bit more competent than Battledroids. But then it wouldn't be OT SW then!

And that's just the thing.

Rebels is quite true to OT Star Wars.

We have a start date for the second half of season 2. According to the Star Wars Rebels Facebook group, the next new episode, A Princess on Lothal, will air on January 20th at 9:30 PM on DisneyXD.

Featuring Leia.

I felt that Rise of the old masters was a great, even chilling episode.

When was the last time an episode of a children's cartoon chill a jaded and grown adult?

You know, I wish people stop referring to Rebels as a children's show just because it's on the Disney channel. Star Wars, when it first came out 38 years ago was and still is referred as a PG movie. It was made for a target audience in the early teens, kind of what Rebels is doing nowadays. Just because many of the original fans have grown up shouldn't mean that new additional material should be geared toward the original crowd.

If you want to see a more darker, grittier side of the SWU go make a fan film.

BTW, does anyone know if Rogue One going to rated PG or R when it's released?.

PG-13 most likely.

Isn't Leia supposed to be just as old as Ezra, being born on the same day?

A few days younger, actually.

Anyway, those ships look a lot like old republic hammerhead cruisers...

Yeah not sure if they are corvette or frigate size though definitely capital ships.

Same old adage, girls tend to mature earlier than boys. Also being brought up as a diplomat's daughter will tend to mature a young lady early on.

this. But still.....

Her mother was liberating her home planet at the age of 14 - and it's been long enough since Empire Day that Leia should be 15 by now.

From a "fleet lists that make sense in-universe" perspective" - now, we have an excuse to use the Leia Organa crew card and Rebels-related stuff on both sides (Kallus & Gozanti, Ghost & Phantom) together.

HOLY S**T

RELATIVES TO THE HAMMERHEAD CLASS

There was something called a Thranta-class corvette in the KOTOR era.

And a Thranta Class War Cruiser in the Clone wars era EU (an automated example was found in the X-wing books).

I'd like these to be called Thranta-class.

I've been aboard one.

They aren't Thrantas. Not at all.

Well, given that it's been 3,000+ years, obviously the two designs won't be identical - but I think the name would make sense for Alderaan. After all, thrantas are Alderaanian animals.

Next Epic ship for X-wing?... whatever the Hell those were in the preview.

Or they could have new names.

That's cool too.

A pretty good bet. Either those or the Jedi ship from the Clone Wars cartoon. But the next wave of ships is Scum, maybe Rebels will be on rotation next for Epic.

They're called transports, lol. Even armed CR90's get called transports though.
