STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

Guys, come on, can we at least keep it spoiler free for... i dunno, 24 hours?

In fairness, this is a Rebels discussion thread. If you come in here, you abandon all right to complain about spoilers.

From what I've heard, rebels season 2 is going to be longer than the first.

I considered that point, but can we at least spoilertag?

I accept that this threat should have an absolute minimum statute of spoilerification but, at least some breathing room can't hurt, amirite?

No, I feel like this is where we should talk about the show! If you don't want any spoilers, you should know better than to read a thread about it right after a new episode came out. That being said, I still don't think they're dead! It didn't sound like that guy saw them die, because he escaped. I also don't think the writers would throw such a big plot factor out in only one episode. Ezra's mission to find his parents could easily be the theme of an entire season, so why would they open and immediately close the issue in one episode? I don't buy it. I expect to see a plot twist in the season finale.

Think of it this way: this thread contains the spoilers, keeping them from popping up in other threads, at least mostly. It also limits the number of threads created to discuss spoileriffic details that can't be discussed in the discussion thread.

Not reading the thread is a minor price to pay to limit the spoilers to one place. Quarantine as you will.

Yeah, Ezra's force vision that included them ended on a scene that didn't happen in the episode. Seems like an unlikely place to drop that plot point. Excellent episode though; Ezra taking out Kallus was pretty awesome.

Also, please someone just try to call this show kiddy after this episode.

Yeah. I really got a lump in the throat at the end of the episode when Ezra met with the mysterious stranger on Lothal and found out what happened to his parents.

So, apparently this was the mid-season finale. if my ITunes collection of season one is any guide we have 4 episodes left in season 2 and we'll see those starting in January.

We have quite a bit more than that. Season 2 is 22 episodes, Legacy was #11.

Ah, I was going by season 1's length of 13 episodes, not counting Spark of Rebellion (which would really count as 2 more if I did).

I can't think of any reason to click this thread if you aren't caught up on the show unless it's by mistake.

According to the episode listings, Siege of Lothal, much like Spark of Rebellion, is not counted as a numbered episode of the season.

Legacy is listed as episode 9.

The episode counts can be weird. Technically, they got 16 episodes for Season 1. The premiere movie is two, but the prequel shorts combined make one episode. And Siege of Lothal is playing weird things with the episode count for Season 2, at least on my DVR.

Honestly it's by habit , i click through my news feed to mark read.

This said, obvious discussion to previous episodes/allusions, predictions etc would be a fair answer.

It would be nice if the first person to start discussion the new episode started their post with, like:

"Episode 24" so people know where to stop if they haven't caught up on that week.

That'd be fair.

Honestly, really looking forward to tonights episode based on what I've read here (see the indirect stuff just gets me pumped). That it's not a kiddie episode contrasts with the previous (very) kiddy ep. I expect to see more of this.

Not quite tears, but very solid episode.

Also: FFG nailed Ghost/Phantom mechanic. And torpedoes.

This thread always reminds me to watch the new episode as every Wed night/Thu morning I see new posts, start to read them, then say Crap! and close the thread. I'm okay with it. I should have remembered to watch already.

Good episode. Maybe the vision came to him at the moment of his parent's death. That's what happened with Anakin's mom right? Something traumatic happened to her, he had the vision, and even rushing to help immediately he wasn't in time. Ezra didn't even know where to look to stand a chance.

That was a pretty solid episode. Wonder if his parents are dead and that really was a ripple in the force he felt.

Glad to see the imps lay on the hurt.

Except for the Phantom's astromech slot..

Add this to an upcoming Aces set: •Phantom, "Title: Attack Shuttle only", Add a (Droid) upgrade to your Attack Shuttle.

Then again, is "Chopper" listed as a 'Crew' card and not as a 'Droid' card?

Pretty certain Chopper is going to be a crew. I think they wanted him to be an option to put on the ship.

I watched the Rebels Recon for this video. Dave Filoni confirms that Ezra's parents are dead. Also they show a clip from the next episode, coming in January, where Kanan takes down an AT-AT singlehandedly by cutting through both right legs. A big "HOLY CRAP!!!" moment.

They could make a Modification instead of a title for the Astromech slot, but the only real reason to do this is to make R2 or something available to the shuttle or if they want to make Chopper available to X-Wings or something.

"Now, we do not want to encourage you to head into your first viewing of The Force Awakens with the idea of Star Wars gaming in the back of your head. No, you want to enjoy the movie experience as much as possible. Keep it fresh. Keep it pure and uninterrupted. And save the idea of imagining the possibilities for your favorite Star Wars games for your second, third, or later trips to the theater."

This is a very kind sentiment for a company.

(One that I will disregard the very first time I see a new fighter onscreen. :D )

"What are those ships, and how would their stats play out in X-Wing? Are there any pilots you would expect to see incorporated as ship cards? Are there any upgrades that have not already made the game? How would you expect to see them? Of course, we will have our own plans and ideas, but sometimes the act of imagining all the great things that might appear can be almost as rewarding as the things themselves."

This is more along the lines of what'll be going through my head. ;)

Oh, and by the way.... since this is the Rebels X-Wing thread....

The legitimacy is real my friends. Now you can Rebels while you X-Wing.

the "•Phantom" card is not list as a title card.

No title card has a Title icon in the corner. It's on the back of the card.

...then what is it?No title card has a Title icon in the corner. It's on the back of the card.

That "•Phantom" card is the second half of a Ghost/Phantom title card for the VCX-100. There is no 'title' card for the Assault Shuttle as yet.
