STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!

^This is correct, however the "making weapons out of it" thing is entirely 343 dross.

In 1 3 at least, the projector equipment was always shown as relatively bulky, even for smaller static forms.

Exactly.

Yeah I kinda figured that forerunner tech = Covvie weapons. Look at Halo CE's plasma pulse temple things from the 2nd mission. This said, until after Halo3 Humanity were the reclaimers, and Humanity were the forerunners.

And you'd be exactly right. Covenant Weapons truly are just re-cased Forerunner weapons.

Forerunner trilogy is post-Bungie, and is responsible for utterly ruining the Flood, so I wouldn't pay any attention to it.

And you have, once again, earned quite a bit of respect from me.

If it weren't for the fact that the Flood has always been, by far, the worst part of the Halo series. And thus, impossible to ruin it any more than it already was.

It's one thing to be space zombies, its quite another to be space zombies made from precursor dust.

Is it? It's pretty sh*tty either way. And a cool origin story wouldn't fix the fact that fighting flood in the game is also always terrible.

Prior to 343 dishing out all this info about the flood, forerunners, precursors, and past humans, we really only knew tidbits about the whole lore. I think Halo overall suffered when everything got explained and everything got connected. This is probably a topic suited to another thread though.

You guys really don't want to talk about Rebels, do you?

Rebels, what's that?

Oh, you mean the sequel to Droids?

Thought this was the x wing general. As long as it's not mlp or religious or political discussion it goes here.

Overall a fantastic episode and a huge improvement over the last one (Which had a lot of potential but squandered it). Loved seeing Rex and Kanan's unfriendly bickering develop into friendly banter.

A clone's review of stormtrooper armor starts to put a perspective on just how stormtrooper armor is in this new canon. Poor accuracy can be blamed on the helmet, which even Luke complains later "I can't see a thing....".

Keep in mind both Luke and Rex were wearing ill-fitting armor. I can imagine the vision being less of an issue when fitted properly.

I tend to suspect that if anybody would know how to properly adjust his armor, it would be a retired clone.

Luke, of course, is a farmboy and wouldn't be expected to be familiar with such things.

No. This is the Rebels Thread. It says it on the header. Right there, in plain sight. Even has the logo and everything. Reading is difficult.

I most certainly mean Rebels.

Yeah, you know, Rebels, the sequel to that awesome rocking 80s cartoon starring 3PO and R2 set around 5 years before ANH. Except there's a lot less of our droid's and a lot more of Aladdin In Space and his psychotic trash can sidekick. A-Wings and B-wings, random characters with lightsabers, scum like Boba, IGGY and Lando showing up, yeah, it's like totally a follow up of the best cartoon of the 80s.

What...wait, clone wars? They made a cartoon about the one throw away line by Ben in ANH? Ok, whatever. I'm sure it lasted all of like 13 episodes...

Ugh.

Anyone have any suggestion on what models I could scrap for parts so I can build the quadguns on the CR-90's in rebels?

And yet both of those are more proment than one would imagine

@cap lacky: you know you love me.

It was a pretty good episode, and it was great to see the blue ring stun setting again, but the sheer incompetence of the Imperials was showing today. Are we sure those stormies were 'elite'? We're they using green recruits on a secret weapon test? Do head guys do nothing but bully dumb locals and as a consequence are totally unable to deal with Force wielding lightsaber enthusiasts and mad bombers what bomb at midnight? And of course no one expects the droid...no one.

Troopers are chosen for political fanaticism rather than any actual competence

I was hoping that the Interdictor would become a staple of the fleet; like the Gozanti or the Light Cruiser.

Instead it's looking more and more like a one-off. All good things eh?

No way man. Admiral Titus survived. He'll totally be back with more.

Even in the old EU, Interdictors weren't exactly common.

We know Interdictors at least stick around until Episode VI. After all, Pablo mentions that the reason for introducing the Interdictors was to explain the line in Return of the Jedi where Imperials mention that they just have to prevent the Rebels from retreating to hyperspace.

I figured this episode showed some of the arrogance of the Imperial Navy, which Titus is. He was contacting Kallus, an ISB specialist, but reported he had the situation in-hand and the Navy would prevail (over the ISB?). In any case, Storm Troopers are Storm troopers wherever they are, there's no distinction between elites and grunts (Since the Endor troopers had no special marks or equipment from standard). I just figured the Empire sent them out wherever they had to be, and any elite trained troopers are protecting key emplacements (like Couruscant). The Interdictor is not important enough to have an elite cadre.

Interesting that Titus was wearing black (and with ANH hair styling). I wonder if the powers that be will call him an ISB agent as well, in spite of snubbing Kallus. Konstantine is in khaki by comparison.

Hey at least this time the Immoblizer 418 actually did what its designers intended without going overboard unlike the first time they tested the class where it turned an effort to stop one ship into a space traffic disaster involving dozens or hundreds of ships because the gravity well projectors were running out of control.

The reason hard light equipment would be bigger than weapons that use hard light as a weapon is because the equipment using hard light for whatever purpose it is using it, also has to have equipment that turns the hard light back into normal light. It would also probably require more equipment used for the purpose of maintaining the equipment that makes hardlight and reverts it back to normal. The guns are just shooting hardlight bolts that are never intended to be used as means to kill or destroy, so unless your fighting dracula or other things that require normal light to kill it, theres no need to have hard light bolts turn into normal light.

The guy or "thing" that made the claim that humans were forerunners was crazy. If you remember in HALO 1 it brings up a conversation it belives Master Chief and it had in the past, said conversation took place before the halos were first fired. This conversation it brings up is right before it desideds its going to kill Master Chief to get Cortana and get the index from her.

I have to strongly disagree, 343 has done an amazing job with HALO, HALO 4 is easily the best halo ever, HALO 3 is tied for first at best. HALO 5 was awesome too, its strong points are the 2nd half of the game and its multiplayer mode. When bungie stopped making HALO the people that were left in charge of HALO, 343 were mostly people from Bungie that wanted to keep making stuff for the HALO saga, its not like Microsoft hired McDonalds to make HALO games, they have people working on it that have been part of HALO since the first one.

If anything Spartan Assault, HALO Combat Evolved, and HALO Reach are the weakest of the HALO saga. Its kinda makes since why Assault would be, its an app game, HALO CE always bothered me because of the repetative game play, esp using the same parts of maps over and over agian. The only levels I liked was the one that took place on the Pillar of Autumn.

As for Reach... The only thing good about reach was Spartan Laser killing sprees, Needler Rifles, and Commando Spartan Armour. Everything else is the biggest pain in the ass I have ever seen in the Halo series, even the musical score is obnoxious, all I can think of is bad european techno music. The game was ether boring, obnoxious, or difficult without being fun.

Well after religion I think MLP belongs here more than anything else not SW. See in the third movie, Midnight Sparkle actully opened up a portal to a universe where you can clearly see the Death Star. Which is nice, awesome really... If LFL wants to have Vader pawned around, littarly or mentally (I am inculding comics, freaking space atheists), like they have recently Midnight Sparkle would actully be an awesome character to have kick Vaders butt. But since shes a Villain I would stick with the Princess of Rock and Roll Daydream Shimmer. She *** awesome too and a sweet hero.

The armour is not the same, he was not even trained how to use it.

Not really or not always, the Empire has alot of Military schools that pump out lots of great troops, lots of which have ended up in the Alliance. What your seeing are just troops that are not battle hardend. One reason why sidious wanted a big war was to have a strong and grizzled fighting force to better prepair them for extragalaxic invaders. The jedi though are not part of his plan and he really wants them gone like yesterday.

The troopers on Endor were Elite and they did do very well. A couple things to think about though is that most the troops guarding the base were gone, looking for more Rebels. If Luke had never come to Endor, the Rebel Commandos would have to be dealing with the full Battalion that was stationed at teh Endor Bunker, inculding all the AT-AT they had. Said Elite Commandos were taken down by the Elite Storm Troopers at the bunker. All though Ewoks did cause damage they didn't "Win" agianst the Empire.

Lastly people look down on Ewoks way way to much, they are very dangerous, they have magic users, really they are limited force users, they are very hardy, smart, and strong. Their weapons a very lethal. The use Obsidion weapons, which is 6 times sharper than surgical steel, and they use poisons on their arrows. If you ignore the source books, then your left with them using flint weapons, which are still much sharper than steel weapons, they are just softer and more brittile, which just means it will break to pieces easily if it twisted inside your body and the fragments will travel to your heart killing you.

If you hade forces like a Clone Battalion, or even a Battalion of Trekers, or IOM Space Marines, or Black Hands, or even a standard Squad of Grey Knights. They are going to have a chunk of their *** chopped off and made into stew and there is a really chance they can flat out lose and die agianst Ewoks.

Could some one please help me post of all the new ships that Rebels has enabled for both X-wing and Armada? I was going to start a new thread dedicated to what's in the ship works so to speak

Armada:

-Interdictor Star Destroyer

-Arquitens-class Cruiser

-C-ROC Transport

-Phoenix home

X-wing:

-Rebels version A-wing(?)

-Prototype B-wing(?)

-Imperial Sentinel shuttle(Guessing is coming soon as wave nine with some Epic interaction possible)

-CR-90 with carrier bay or docking clamps style/Phoenix Home(Epic, unfortunately not nearly probable enough)

-C-ROC Gozanti Cruiser(Epic, shows up several times as a Scum or neutral)

-Personal Luxury yacht 3000(Large, two seperate ones show up in 'brothers of the horn' I think)

-Shadow Caster (Large, Scum, wave ten I'm thinking, it will get more screen time between now and then)

-Imperial Police Gunship (Small, not likely, not much known of capability, especially space worthiness.)

Plus there's a crap ton of new crew possible. Guess I'll have to start it as a multi section FFG to do list.

There's a containment thread for that horsecrit, BKL.

Oh jesus christ look I love MLP:FiM and I just got done watching the season finale but please stop clogging the thread.

EDIT: Thank god for the ignore feature. Can't abide anybody who thinks 343Halo is anything more than dreck.
